Such great finds, Janelle! The little bear cardigan is so cute! A funny story: years ago when I was in high school (US), I was involved in the theatre/music dept. One night, during a rehearsal for a play, I was backstage and came across a large wooden bin with some props. There was a navy, pure wool V-neck sweater in there, and I was curious, so I pulled it out and saw that it had an embroidery on one side. It was the outline of Australia, with a kangaroo and small Australian flag, and it was made in Australia as well. I couldn't understand why such a nice, unique sweater was doing in that bin, so I later showed it to my theatre teacher before the end of the night, and she said that I could take it home if I wanted to. I was SO happy! I wore that sweater for years. I don't remember what happened to it, but as someone who's had a love for travel since a young age, that sweater was a reminder of all the places I wanted to see around the world.
My favorite item is the table cloth. It's lovely and I would probably use it as a table cloth :). I love to see my kitchen table all cute and all I've done is put an adorable vintage cloth on it.
I love the cardigan boot mug and yellow floral fabric! What finds! I also love the idea of buying a nice basket to transfer my things from home to say a party or even library etc! Such a cute fun idea
I love when you take us shopping with you! I usually don't use things for intended purpose so I immediately thought when you showed the egg plate how fun would it be to use it for buttons, bobbins, thimbles, small spools of thread, seam ripper, etc. Eggs or oysters will work too, lol🤣😉
Wow, I liked everything but the basket is my favourite find Janelle. The small patterned fabric would make a nice short-sleeved summer top and the larger patterned fabric would be nice for oven mits, pot holder, kitchen things I think.
Yes the plate is for deviled eggs. Tiara is the style, people had tiara parties and earned points for glassware. Made by Indiana glass if my memory serves me. Amber is the color.
I loved all your finds. I think the yellow floral fabric and tablecloth would pair beautifully and I would consider using the tablecloth as the centre piece for a patchwork quilt, creating a patchwork edge using the yellow floral fabric and other fabrics of a similar colour/style.
What I really liked seeing was the cone yarn I don't always see it at our thrift stores but if I see any I grab it as I weave and have knitting machines and could never afford it new so that was fun to see I also am a basket maker and love all baskets I really like you taking us along on these trips
Love all your finds Janelle. I especially like the peachy table cloth, really beautiful and bright. Also the basket, I've never seen one like that. Enjoy your blessings ❤
My mother in law gave me a similar deviled egg plate in a clear pressed glass. I use it every Easter as we usually have an abundance of hard boiled eggs. A great find for your home.
We have the exact chaos that you liked 😀 I love them! We have paired ours with a 1920-1930 walnut Clerestory Table. 💜 Two of the chairs have broken over the years and I would have bought them if we lived in Tassy. It's so great when you find these germs isn't it! I love the thrill of the chase.
I recently made a faux chenille baby blanket and I combined 3 layers of flannelettes. Once complete and washed, puffed up to an amazing blend of colors! These faux chenille projects can be reduced to small potholders too : ) All the best!
Hi Janelle, what awesome treasures you have found this time. Your op shops in Tassie seem to be quite outstanding. I wonder if there is enough fabric (yellow ditzy print) to make a simple blouse. I made a couple of blouses out of similar fabric this year and have got heaps of wear out of them, they're so cosy to wear. Love the tablecloth, ,keep it for your dining table maybe? ❤❤
Well done!! I would make pillow cases from the lovely retro floral fabric. I actually use the retro tablecloths that I find on my kitchen table. Can't wait to see what you do with them.❤
I'm a sweater girl. So my favorite find was the sweater. So cute. I also loved the basket and deviled egg plate. I have a deviled egg platter that has freezer gel in it to keep the eggs cool for pot lucks. I've used it many times. I love these videos, I love to go thrifting.
Such a lovely haul, mindful shopping certainly helps ensure curation. Regarding baskets, basketry and wickerwork were taught to soldiers recovering from WW2 injuries at the Repatriation Hospital in Hobart, and many items were sent back to families and sold at markets.
Vintage tablecloths are something i love and collect too.. i haven't often found ones big enough to make garments out of though. It looks like there's corner and/or border prints on yours so maybe a long skirt would work well. My husband just bought the same book at a used bookstore two days ago and he's already read it. We're going to have to watch the movie again soon. Great finds!
Ah...the canoe would be cool to have given your waterside location. Love the finds as always. I'm happy you finally found your boot mug, don't get splashed😊
You make me want to go thrift store shopping! I love the two pieces of glassware. The amber coloured one is so beautiful, I could see it on a wall as a decorative piece. The yellow floral is so pretty. Perhaps a skirt that you wear with your lovely new white broderie anglaise blouse you made this past year?
Your deviled egg plate is made by Indiana Glass Company for Tiara Sandwich Glass. They used to have Tierra glass parties in the home Much like Tupperware parties
Score on the boot mug! If you don't have enough of that pretty flannel for pajamas, it would look lovely in another cozy quilt of similar flannel textures ( maybe thrifting/ up cycling men's plaid flannel shirts in the mix?).😻
Being in the library creation phase of life is so exciting. I am in the phase where I am giving away my books and just keep the ones I really love and read over and over again, partly due to limited space. Those free libraries make it easier, though.
Love watching your videos!!! Loved everything you got! I love thrifting so much! I’m on the road to a me made and thrifted wardrobe and it makes me so happy! Love finding things for the home too! Brings me so much joy to find unwanted items that spark joy whenever I see or use them! X the basket is amazing too!!
These are such dreamy finds! It is actually so hard to pick a favorite! I absolutely love the feeling when you just thrift a perfect item for your home. Yesterday we found a vintage plant holder for such a good price. I was looking for one for years and it matchs our living room perfectly. Why not sewing a bag from Faye Studios with one of these lovely fabrics?
Amazing finds! I love that basket. Have you ever come across a pie carrying basket? Usually they fit two pies stacked, with a divider between them. Also, using that egg tray for oysters is fantastic!
Such lovely finds Janelle! An idea for that yellow floral fabric, you mentioned it was a bit flanel like, if I recall correctly, right? How about a Janelle Style floral flanel shirt? Something nice, warm and cozy for days when a sweater is too warm, but you need more than a long sleeve T-shirt?
The boot mug reminds me of a restaurant that use to be near me here in California called Texas Lucy’s they serviced drinks in them and you could take the mug home. Really wonderful finds. Love the table cloth.
How funny, Janelle we saw that wooden canoe last weekend too!!! I can’t believe that glass boot!! It looks pretty much the same as the one you follow!!! I feel like I saw the amber platter with the egg indents and the picnic at hanging rock book 😳 we spent half Saturday looking in all the op shops! So much fun! Great finds
Hi Janelle. I love your RUclips videos. I also found the yellow egg plate here in Qld. I use it to display coloured eggs on Russian Easter & we put a Russian Waster cake in the middle.
What a gorgeous copy of Picnic at Hanging Rock, I love to op shop books and it's such a treat to get a beautiful edition. That basket would also be a good caddy to cart a project from room to room. Can't believe you found that boot! You could make a book bag if you don't have enough for a clothing item. Would that tablecloth make a good blouse since it's so crisp - excited to see what you come up with ✨
Not sure what you think, but that broderie Anglais (sic?) could make a cute tablet sleeve if padded and lined. You might the be able to remove the lace edge that's frayed. Enjoy the finds, Mona. P.S. I am the proud owner of a pressed glass deviled egg plate of the same color. The 50s-70s are rife with kitschy serving pieces. Vintage gems today! I like your inspiration to use your plate for oysters. I think my other vintage favs, apart from milk glass, are individual plate and punch cup sets you might see at baby or wedding showers. ❤
Love your finds! I am not that lucky but keep trying! What about a guilted mixmaster cover to keep the dust off an appliance! Or something along those lines! Love your colours. Dont find as many sheets in Queensland, they just don’t seem to get thrown out as often. Keep hunting, love seeing what you find!
Have you ever watched Stephanie Canada? She sells vintage fabrics and patterns, and her videos of patterns are great to watch for sewing pattern ideas.
Oh my gosh I totally laughed out loud when you pulled out the boot mug!! My grandma has a set of 4 (We're in the states-- but New England so not really Texas/western vibes lol) and I loved them when I was little 😆

Oooh we went to Hanging Rock a few weeks ago. It’s such a deliciously creepy place. I swear I could hear the pan flutes playing the entire time we were there 😂

That basket... wow, lovely. I too love baskets. Yes, warm jarmies out of the yellow floral. We used to call it "brushed cotton", back in the day.
Loved the cardigan and the basket!!!
Yes the plate is for deviled eggs. Tiara is the style, people had tiara parties and earned points for glassware. Made by Indiana glass if my memory serves me. Amber is the color.
Yeap it’s definitely Amber glass, my mum collects vintage glassware and that’s also not a bad price either
Love the vintage fabric, great find
That is such a charming basket! Going to keep my eye open for one here in Canada!
I was thinking a sweet long sleeve blouse. I love a flannel shirt in the winter.
The plate would be perfect for madeleines too!
I brake for baskets too. Do you have a video showing your basket collection? I love your yellow glass plate as well.
No I don’t, but I’ve pretty much shared all my baskets in different videos throughout the years 😊

Tablecloth shirt. Floral jacket.
such cute find! I found a boot mug almost exactly like that here in the states. but funnily it has a local electric company advertised on it.
I love all your finds, but the amber coloured plate is most beautiful.
I love the bear cable knit and the basket, Janelle. 😊

That little egg plate could be fun at Easter too!
I have the same vase/jug I got mine from the op shop too I looked it up and it’s Italian and from the 80s I think. Love op shopping along with you!

I think the golden floral fabric would make a really nice skirt, is there enough fabric to make it long enough to reach mid-calf? with maybe a ruffle at the end?
Scratching my claws into the table upon seeing that bear cardigan - it retails for around $70 AUD and is impossible to find! Great haul!
