Back when I first got my C&R license, I bought a few variants of P38 and P1. If I had bought more Bitcoin instead back then, the P38-inspired gun I'd be in the market for now would be a transferable Beretta 93R.
My 1960 P38 was actually the first surplus pistol I ever bought. I bought off Aim Surplus last year, not too long after they first started coming in again. It's one of my favorite pistols in my collection. It's super fun to shoot, and I always bring it to show to people I haven't shot with before. The P38 is just one of the coolest looking pistols ever made, in my opinion.
@misha5670 I wish I had a genuine opinion on the P08/Luger. I don't have one yet, and I've never fired one before, but I plan to get one at some point in the future. All I can say about it right now is that I think they look incredibly cool, and I think their toggle-lock system is super interesting and unique. Any kind of unique aspect of a gun instantly makes it more interesting to me.
Perfect timing Misha! 40 min video just as i am about to clean my safe and then deep clean my AP5 and my sweet peanut butter M9A4 with the matching peanut butter Steiner MPS :)
Walther should bring back and update the P5. Give it a stack and a half mag and a threaded barrel for a suppressor. Maybe even an optics mount since berettas even have them now.
Nice episode. I have a pretty minty post war P1 but I don’t recall the year of manufacture. I enjoy collecting WW2 era firearms but I prefer mine without the Nazi markings, just a personal preference. I have a very nice K98K but it’s a Czech made TGF designated example. The P1 fits a similar niche. I get to experience the handling qualities and shooting these iconic weapons without the fascist baggage, and the price premium, associated with the Waffenamt marked guns.
@@misha5670 not sure just 115 grain..but I did put a laser bore sight in barrel and at 20 feet the poi was lower than poa.. I've read that newer p series had shorter front sights..
@@dougshelton69 Also for what its worth, with those, the front sight blade is intended to cover the target; not have the target rest right ontop of the sight blade.

Mosins, SKSs, Makrovs, RCK98s, etc etc etc. So many milsurps to have stacked deep.

Want to know something? Actually, I like the P38 more than the P08..more than the Luger.

I've got a P1 and a P4. Great pistols. The P4 has a few upgrades and a shorter barrel.
And is a close relative of the P38K's.

I appreciate your time, patience, and knowledge. Your efforts are historical.
Cool shooter 💯 😎
thank you
I do still want a P08 but the P38 is hella cool for the money.
Both my German Lugers came from friends. No way I could pay market prices on them (today or even 20 years ago).
Thank you!

Checkout the P5C. In a lot of ways, its an even better version.
I have a WW2 P38, one of my favorites.
Thanks Wish!
Misha ASMR ❤
I like them. Nothing I can do about it now but, time and fortune, will tell.

You hate German Eagles😢
I understand & respect where you are coming from.
Walthers are kitty approved.
What were the ac43 front sights ranged for? My poa is high..i would grind it down but dont want to destroy the matching factory parts...
Here's the thing, are you using WWII German spec 9x19mm ammunition? Those sights were calibrated for a specific ammo type/loading.

@@misha5670 crazy European targeting..thanks man..ill just have to learn to adapt to shadowing the target😁
Pistols Yea Buddy Thanks Misha 💨💨💨🔫😎👍🏼😀
Save people from buying Makarovs for more
I love Maks but its a weird world where one costs the same (or more) compared with a good Walther.
You talk about a gun I'd like to buy, and another that I own (Astra 600) = subscribe!
And have done a couple videos on the 600 too, thanks.
