His voice still sounds great! That stage is awesome!
What memories this brings! Loved it then, love it now.
For me one of the greatest songs ever. A song that so aptly reflects the times back then. Thank you for sharing this superb performance.
One of the most uplifting and motivating songs ever!
And Albert sounds amazing here!!!
Always loved this man's music. I remember this as a Hit in 1973. He has aged a bit ( aint we all !? ) but his voice is, amazingly, the same as it was all those years ago. Love the ladies on the Strings. Great Venue. Albert Hammond das beste.
This hit still kicks @$$ after all these years.
Love it! Albert still nails it!
This is an energetic delightful song I am sure anyone into music would identify with ti ,and the music isles is electrifying .
Hi Karen, I agree. It takes me away from the problems of work and the covid crap screaming up the east coast. . Stop the world and let me off. Anyway you take care. : )
love u Albert Hammond...all the way from Malaysia !!
Many thanks, been searching for "free electricity generator for sale" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Diyarah Electric Freedomify - (search on google ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my work buddy got great success with it.
He’s a great singer.
He also did It Never Rains in Southern California. A Classic Too.
I'm a Train
"Down By The River"
When I'm gone, The air that I breathe...
He was in The Strokes too
beautiful
No doubt, his parents and his lecturers someday learnt to understand why he gave it up for music and a free electric band.
Because of this song, I used the title as a band name. We would close our shows with this song.
I saw him live in Cape Town.
Brilliant !!
cooler Auftritt! ☺
Brillant little arrows make me island air that i breath wonder what happened to his writing partner gets no accolade namely mike hazlewood
Am I the only one who loves the trumpet?
My father is a doctor, he's a familiary man,
My mother works for charity whenever she can,
They're both good clean Americans who abide by the law,
They both stick up for liberty, they both support the law,
My happiness was paid for when they laid their money down,
For Summers in a Summer camp, and Winters in the town,
My future in the system was talked about and planned,
But I gave it up for music and the free electric band
I went to school in hand-washed shirts with neatly oiled hair,
The school was big and newly built and filled with light and air,
And the teacher taught his values that we had to learn to keep,
And he clipped the ear of many idle kid who went to sleep,
My father organized for me a college in the East,
But I went to California, the sun-shine and the beach,
My parents and my lecturers could never understand,
Why I gave it up for music and the free electric band
Well, they used to sit and speculate upon their son's career,
A lawyer or a doctor or a civil engineer,
Just give me bread and water, put a guitar in my hand,
'Cause all I need is music and the free electric band
My father sent me money and I spent it very fast,
On a girl I met in Berkeley in a social science class,
Yes, and we learned about her body, but her mind we didn't know,
Until the brutal attitudes and morals began to show,
She wanted to get married, even thopugh she never said,
But I knew her well enough by now to see inside her head,
She'd settle for suburbia and a little patch of land,
So I gave her up for music and the free electric band
why did he change the line about spending his fathers money on grass?^^
BRILLIANT 🔝🎵✌🏿😍
真好听
World class
Really like this song since childhood and the lyrics "just give me bread and water but a guitar in my hand ...." and the amazing voice of Albert Hammond ... WOW ... but this stage is a desaster.
Hm. Ich bezweifle dass das alles live war... Aber grundsätzlich hast du natürlich recht.
Brilliant! Possibly better than the original. 😀
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍Super
1973?? Da war ich 11
Mannoman, was da hängenbleibt
Cool !
GREAT STUFF
Where can you see him in concert ?
Google "Albert Hammond Songbook Tour" he is in Europe right now (Nov. 2019).
Cant understand a word that woman was saying! “Plinky plonky dobre dobby ....free electric band....” thats all i got 😂😂
Maby you can't understand, because you don't speak German
El Dude
Voice Crack at 3:42
3-44 dipstick
Shows that it was him singing, not miming.
Where falling off the stage would mean electrocution
Okay, strange version. But, untypical for this show, not just lip-synching the album version.
R.I.P
R.I.P? Wer?
helthuismartin he is still alive and kicking bro!
Would've been better if he was actually playing the guitar
glad no one got wet.
