Hey, I'm the Chewie player. Tournament was bo1 so there were no sideboard and I felt the deck had to be versitile. C3P0 was quite reliable card draw which helped alot. My matchups were Boba yellow, Iden blue, Leia red, Boba yellow, Chirrut red, Krennic blue, and the same Chirrut in the final. I think the deck has 26 2 cost cards so C3P0 helped me dig for the cards I needed and let me have better options for resourcing. Also he is a OK chewie sentinel target as he survives a 3 attack even if he never were the first choice for that. I really don't like to play the meta decks and this game is great for experimenting without getting smashed at tournaments 🙂
love your chats, i got my 2 boys (9 and 14) into the game and they have built their own decks and are excited about our upcoming LGS showdown. They practice about 5 games a day between them and me. I tried to caution them that some of the guys at our local have very good decks and probably want to win. But the store and group are also pretty well-mannered and easy going; a few have tossed cards my boy's way to help them boost their decks. I'm excited to see how it goes!
I'd love it if we could as a community normalize congratulating people for good plays in a game, rather than fall into the copium trap of blaming our losses on luck or netdecks or whatever lame excuse we tell ourselves. Good hearted ribbing someone is one thing, like I lost to Leia in a showdown this past weekend because I was triple For A Cause'd off the top deck and I joked that he had 20 in his deck later. But actually meaning it is pretty toxic and lame. At the end of the day we all want to win, but we are privileged we get to sit around and play games as much and as often as we do -- and it's important to remember that sometimes.
Also took Chirrut/Tarkintown into my first showdown and won. Undefeated into Sabine 3 times, lost to 1 Palp (28 damage on enemy base), won against 1. Won vs Vader green and Vader red and faced Han Green in finals.
As was mentioned, I've seen a few people mention on discord about Jyn making some top 4. I played Jyn at my last Store Showdown and lost in the top 8. Wins did not come easy with playing Jyn for sure!
@@LiterallyUnplayable He was always ready to exhaust my Boba on the flip with Leia unit or asteroid sanctuary or something. The deck played low to the ground so he always got the shield with asteroid sanctuary. He was running Jedha City so he'd blank my first sentinel each game before trading. Seemed like he had an answer for everything Boba Yellow. I was humbled haha... and I had just beat blonde Sabine and Green Bean. He was definitely onto something with that Leia Yellow deck.

IG got 2nd at our local store showdown with 22players 5 rounds and cut to top 4.

I ran Boba Yellow in a showdown on Saturday. Faced Leia Yellow in the finals and got my teeth kicked in. That deck was hot.
