In this video, lambing begins, but our lambs are under attack! Grey crows are attacking them as they lamb. Not a great start to lambing but all we can do is plough on!
Thank you for watching as always, let me know in the comments if you liked the video!

I think you described your own lesson. A box with your lambing needs in the vehicle would be a good plan. Also the gear to milk the ewe with the hung lamb to ensure the lambs’ survival.
Really educational with pasture sheep , a lot of hard work .
Thankyou for the video .
The crows sound awful.
Have you anyone doing pest control? The local Gun Club members would normally help out with pest control! Also Grey Crows Magpies foxes and mink have a bounty on them for the gun club! Where in the country are you!
Gracious! Like another person said, you need a portable kit in the vehicle with supplies - Metacam for mums, bottles to milk mum and feed babies, and other supplies like gloves. I wonder if you might lose fewer lambs if you brought the ewes into a smaller paddock or polytunnel? Not sure if that is necessary for all your flock, since you’ve intentionally chosen sheep that lamb outdoors with no problems.
Well done on finding the mama ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hard to catch a sheep with two hands let alone one! Thanks for bringing us along
I have a chest strap for the gopro, I must have a root around for it! Cheers Doug. 😁
Jesus Karl, that is dreadful. Fair play to you. You are dean on “ those B…….” Thank god you were there to see it. How are you going to stop this going forward. The poor little lamb, and the Mam.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Is there any way to control the birds , can they be culled its usually only 2/ 3 birds
Loosing lambs will make a farmer upset if birds are the cause.
Yes need your lambing kit bit of pain relief for tough pulls
Lot of hard work ,outdoor lambing especially with vermin ,foxes ,birds and even badgers. If the weather is bad more losses. We lamb indoors see every lamb born , milk every ewe and tube every lamb at birth 60mls of colostrum ,clean out every pen and disenfect ,I know its a lot of work ,but its only for 3 weeks and we never have a case of watery mouth or joint ill.I hope the weather improves and good luck.
Aye there's pros and cons to both!
Jesus Karl, that little lammie could run like a rabbit. Well done. Keep you fit.(as if you needed it) 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
He sure could Deirdre 😂😂
Put a shepherd's crook on the end of your camera mount, easier to snare the lamb LOL😉 Great video, hopefully things improve with the crows!
😂😂 Now you're talking, cheers 😁
They do that here in Canada with calves only they seem to go after their butts. They are so sneaky you can't shoot them. Carrion birds I don't mind, they serve a purpose but when they star killing is another story.
🇨🇦Best sight e.v.e.r.! when that wee head popped up ❤️
Definitely, a relief too 😅
Ahh….ewes at lambing time, they do your head in!!!
Just have to roll with the punches this time of year 😂
Great video, you can run that fast without having breakfast, 😂
Cheers 😂
Love watching your dog work! Makes me feel better that it’s not just my dog that losses her head when I do in an emergency lol. I’d still take yours over mine any day! Nice catch and save on that lamb!
This reminds me of A Christmas Romance (1994)
Larsen trap will clean up you grey crow problem. Larsen mate will catch a call bird if you can't source one from somewhere.
Cheers John! We seem to have no bother getting call birds thankfully
@@ewetube.videos You'll have no bother reducing the population so, this is the best time of year for catching them
Yeah bit slack to have nothing in the motor Karl without being to critical, come to expect it with cammy or super serious farmer and not being a little organised at least . That was good though enjoyed that Karl, lambs are good, get them fecking things shot before they perfect there routine.
You're right. Just not organised for the start of lambing and a good bit on but no excuses. Glad you liked the video. 😁
@@ewetube.videosAnd maybe a Shepherd's crook.🐑
So did you win ribbons or metals for 100 yard runs at school? lol you made me tired.
Not really Kathleen, must be getting better with age. 😂
That little chap kept you running. And me laughing (sorry 😉) Glad you could match up mum and kids.
Hahaha glad you liked it Sandra. 🥰
Wow! Tough morning! 🐨👍
Yes it was! 😂
You certainly got your workout in that video
No need for the gym that day Paddy 🤣🤣
I cannot believe what sheep farmers go through, but especially at lambing! So sorry about the lambs you lost. It is absolutely horrific the way the birds were just waiting for the lamb to be born. Is there anything to be done, besides indoor lambing? Livestock guardian dogs? I guess thats too much land to cover? Can you carry a bb gun over there? Just to scare them? Nature can be very upsetting sometimes. But its just part of life. I know, I need to shake it off! 😉
It is upsetting! We're looking at our options, at the moment we're just trying to check them regularly and catch the ones having trouble lambing!
@@ewetube.videos I know you are doing everything possible. Its just such a horrible thing. Sheep farming is your livelihood, but your care and concern for these animals is obvious. As a fellow animal lover, thank you for taking care of these (mostly) sweet animals. ( referring to mama sheep who turn out to be horrible moms!)
Fabulous video, keep them coming !!
Thank you Fiona!
That was some detective work mate extremely impressive well done on finding the twins mum one less pet is great. Hopefully u have a great lambing and those crows don’t cause u too much hassle, i would love to pull out the rifle and give u a hand but it’s a little far to travel from Brisbane Australia lol. Great video mate keep it up
Haha it's a big distance alright Carl! Thanks for the support mate. 🔥
@@ewetube.videos any time mate I really enjoy watching the farms from over that side of the world I was born in England and lived there for 23 years and 17 in Australia.

Those crow's are a right pest great ewes took the lambs
They sure are David!
Great job and vid keep them coming
Will do Ian, thanks for watching.
I think that's a no
Rough terrain to be chasing ewes and rescuing lambs. Those crows a vicious! 👍😊👍
Great video as always
Glad you enjoyed it!
Foxy looking country, also!
I'd say there's a few about!
Are we going to be lucky enough to get daily lambing vids
Only 100 sheep lambing yet Sonny so no. Next month I plan to do about 20 videos though. With outdoor lambing you have quiet days when there isn't much action and I want them to be good! 😁
Great video Karl it’s time to show the grey crows some gun power 👌
We'll have to do something Gary!
Lovely ankle tap
Will I get the call from Andy Farrell? 🤣☘️
☘️🍻👍👍🫡
Did you ever try to trap grey backs
Is it legal? Jaz reckons you can only shoot them in England
I’ve had seagulls take the tongue out of live lambs
Wow, thats a new one for me. Brutal.
Aye I've heard they can cause trouble too Chris!
those sheep loosing their lambs reminds me of the Australian farmer doing Hilarous TickToks of his animals - screaming out the cab of his ute - Barbara keep your children together (a ewe lost her lamb) - another great line is Patrick (alpaca) you are not a sheep dog, get out (and I think Partick is a girl)
Haha I must him up!
@@ewetube.videos @ewetube.videos his handle is malleeboy3490 - you will roll laughing - OK ladies (ewe's) listen up, I have just gotten off the phone with your hairdresser (shear) and he will be here bright and earlyi in the morning , I expect nothing but your best behavour, lets get through this and get on with those summer haircuts
Grey crows horrid
They sure are Sandy!
