I can't believe you hit the keys on the bare platen. Nobody does that to such a sweet little typewriter. My mother would have given you a tongue lashing.
I remember learning to type on a machine similar to that. I remember using the lower case 'L' for the number one, and using the accent mark and period for an exclamation point. we also used it to make quotation marks. Also for those who've never used a typewriter to center words on a page, you would move the carriage to the center of the page and back space once for half of the total characters and spaces. So if what you were typing had eight letters and two spaces, ( which is a total of ten), you would back space five times.
The line spacing indicator stting at 1, 2 and 3 is actually single, 1-1/2 and double line spacing. For the exclamation mark, you can save a step by pressing and holding the space bar while typing an apostrophe and a period. No need to back up. Daniel
Hello thanks for this video. This is my first time using a typewriter: when I type, the ribbons do not seem to turn while typing… so the ink on the page is quite faint. Do you have any advice on how to fix this please? Have a nice day
I would say I have medium hands. I can type on it pretty quickly. It's closer to a computer keyboard layout feel. It's not my favorite. I like a larger keyboard
My typewriter in college. Sturdy little machine.

@@georgeleddy483 Well, if it leaves a mark, don't do it. It it leaves no evidence, is ok

Beautiful, indeed. Though most of the modern ones post 1940 do have quotation marks, fortunately.
Mucha belleza de máquina!!!

Thank you! I go from machine to machine so much I still have the 'old school' way in my head, because I usually write on machines from the 40's.
@@AtelierDBurgoyne thank you. I gey mixed because I do so many tutorials
Just had one of these restored. I'm from Mexico so it has the ñ :)
I love it !
I ❤ only Allah !
I've just purchased this exact machine and not used a typewriter since I was a kid. How do you start a new line? 🙈🙈

Can you show how to change ribbon please?
I have one lettera 32 , is perfect
Can't go wrong with one of those! It was my third machine. I like a heavier machine personally, that is just subjective.
Olivetti Lettera 32 VS Olympia SM 9? Who wins?
Does anyone know how to change reverse turn the tape when it comes to end of the tape? Is it automatic? If it is it is not working.
@@yesplease1000 yes automatic. You can move manuall and itll reverse

What is that cool swivel pad and where can I find one?
I would love to write my python code in one of this machines!
Exactly. I used to play with javascript code on one
Why would you write code on a typewriter?
@@Kosmothestarkid because big companies will not track or grab any telemetry from me!
Do you have large hands? How do you find the typing on that model apart from the space bar?
