I just got one of these and have a hard time docking it, the reverse seams almost useless and the steering is non existent at slow speeds. so I usually just man handle it on and off the trailer since it’s so small
Yes..Reverse is all backwards..and slow speed manoeuvrability is non existant. There is a feature that if you turn the wheel full left or right it will rev up the engine to assist in additional control.
I have a sea doo 1995 that may have originally come with a 675 rotax but was upgraded to a 787 and I know have the pleasure of doing a core swap, any advice or things to look out for with this install of the new 787.
@@blockchainbandit1484 Sounds like you need to remove the cylinder and have a look. All you may need to do is get a rehone or bore and a new piston /rings / gaskets.
G'day I have a 1998 speedster with twin engines and I'm having starting issues when I put the DESS on it beeps twice but when I hit the start button it beeps 4 times and doesn't turn over but it does every now and then but getting less and have you any ideas many thanks
Hey how's it going just bought a 2003 sportster 4-tec first ever jet boat can't get it to accelerate it shifts in to fwd N and reverse but can't move the accelerate handle. Thanks in advance.
Hard to diagnose without seeing the issue. Possible seized cable or a problem with the shifter ? Forward and reverse is a very simple system and should be easy to find the problem.
One more thing does the blower need to be on while using the boat and does that same blower drys out the engine compartment thanks once again really appreciate your knowledge.
I just bought a 2006 seadoo sportster 155 fun little boat. Runs great have one problem with it wanted to see if you have ever had it with one of yours put in water fires right up runs great asking as I want to ride turn off hit the start button fires right back up .but if I let it sit for more than ten min with out starting ..it will act like the starter locking just turns over twice the locks will do it four or 5 times then will turn over fine but will not start acts like it flooded after a few mins it will pop off a few times then start or will not start at all just crank over in water . But if I pull out of water it will fire right up and run every time .
This is just a guess but it sounds like a weak battery to me. The jet boats are direct drive and so when you try to start it in the water there is more resistance than in a trailer. Bad connection at the battery is another possibility. Really hard to diagnose without actually seeing it.
@@SeadooRefurb Yea the battery new but I need to check the cables and grounds went ahead and bought a new starter to be safe going the cleaning the cables with fix it.

I have searched all over for the insert above the engine for storing life vests and can't find the part number or what it's called. Can you help me?
Best guess is that they are too big to ship so you don't see them. Best bet is to find a boat that the owner is doing a partout.

I have never done a engine swap other than swapping the same size engine for another one . Is the 787 engine toast or just needs a rebuild ?

not sure what happened to my reply. 4 beeps means it is in gear. (forward or reverse)

Always run the blower for about 2 minutes before starting. It removes any fuel vapors from the engine compartment. Also use at below planning speed.
Is the Speedster the Shortest version,is there one, shorter than a 15 footer
The Sportster is 15 footer. Not sure about the speedster.

I purchased the top through marketplace. Bummer was..2 days after I purchased it I found a new yellow one for 100.00 less than I paid. (Figures !)
