"Please don't ever forget this song...or me"...*tears intensify*
It sure wasn't forgotten
I'm currently replaying the game since I never got past the second dungeon cause I couldn't figure out how to. And when I got to that part, I choked up a bit. I'm a 20 year old guy and LoZ can still move me. Damn your awesome games, Nintendo. Damn you.
Its a curse.... as you get older you find you become... *Pasionate* more often about things, and stuff like... music... and puppies start to make you tear up.
Zelda has been the only game series that has always touched me in each of the games that I've played. Hell, even the ghost in LA that you have to bring to the house by the bay touched me. And that's a character that you don't interact for more than 5 minutes. Only reason it lasted THAT long was cause I had to remember where his gravestone was at.
SPOILERS. IF YOU HAVE NOT ACHIEVED SECRET ENDING IN LINKS AWAKENING DO NOT READ
Fuck me, I had the DX version of that game, and when I played on the 3ds, I used save states to achieve the secret ending without dieing(i know, I cheated) But seriously, when I saw that ending with Marin flying away, I fucking cried my goddamn eyes out. That was the first time I cried in about 6 years. Last time I cried was Fado from wind waker :(
Its a shame how underrated this theme is. Everyone gushes over the Gerudo Canyon theme or the Zelda theme but you hardly hear of people talk about this one. It deserves more recognition.
*Gerudo Valley.
zangetsu9196 Gerudo Canyon lmao I love it, but yes I agree. Link's Awakening is so underrated, actually, 2d Zeldas are underrated.
+Leiliane Moura i love all the 2d zeldas.
this is actually my favorite Zelda came, probably because it was my first though
+zangetsu9196 maybe because this is a remake from an Game Boy Titel. Gerudo Valley is still the N64 Original. I do not say, this music is great, but the most Music are better with a good remake.
This game tells us that even the most pleasant of dreams must end.
So I guess I got to stop dreaming of being a space astronauts, lawyer, door holder in space. a
+Danny Merfeld Are you sure the message isn't watch out for strange foreigners who might in fact be a walking extinction level event if gone unchecked?
What I was saying was that a literal dream has to end at some point. No matter how much we might not want it to. No matter who we might want to take with us, it won't happen. It is sad that you have to leave this wonderful dream, but that is life. It sucks, but that is how it goes.
+Tilly Edwards What hurts my brain isn't just your indoctrination regarding "strange foreigners", but the fact that that's the first thing that came to your mind when you thought to reply
Danny Merfeld yes dreams do end eventually end but they can be reality regardless of what your dream is and people can be who they want to be.
people think majoras mask is sad and depressing, maybe it is but this game was the one that truly stands out among all the others, cause by waking the wind fish, the dream ends, all the people you helped, all the beings you met along your journey
there all gone because you awoke the wind fish and made the dream dissapear and become forgotten
that is the true death being forgotten
+Seirra Moon well only if link truly forgot them, and something tells me this particular incarnation held onto the tale
+Seirra Moon I know everything because I played with that game. That's my favourite :) I learnt a few songs on piano.
Majoras mask was very saddening to me, seeing what everyone was going through time and time again, meanwhile you can't possibly help them all. even when you just get do the ending the games characters still suffer from the misfortune
Technically since its a dream they weren't real? This shit is 2deep4me.
Yet at the same time they were, it sorta becomes a grey area
This melody IS Link Awakening. When i hear this i FEEL the game, it's so perfect in every way and this remastering is just amazing.
The title is very relevant right now.
Its sad this wont be the theme in the new game, cause this piece is beautiful
@@MrNuclearturtle From the brief end of the preview, we're going to be getting a vocal cover that's amazing in it's own right
Beyond excited
Indeed
Like a pair of sweaty green tubesocks flying to dry.
The one game that Link couldn't save a world
My first zelda game actually was this.
Same here!!! Omg, the feels. The nostalgia. The EVERYTHING!
i actually never played zelda before, but after hearing this song played for me by friend, i just had to find a nintendo and dem games to play some
I think this would be a good game for a Zelda movie. Yeah OOT or LTTP would be good too. But, this one just has so much emotion put into it
+B It would be better as an anime movie. Specifically Studio Ghibli.
Ive decided that its a necessary requirement that my children play the legend of zelda
Kai Rose when I meet new people they have to have played at least 3 of the games to be considered one of my friends
That, and star wars
Jcb986 H I hope you’re talking about the original trilogy.
Saaaame.
If I have kids and they don't like Zelda games, none of my heritage will be theirs
i decided that the day i discovered the zelda series
If I was a seagull, I would fly as far as I could! I would fly to far away places and sing for many people! ...If I wish to the Wind Fish, I wonder if my dream will come true...
The single most beautiful piece of gaming music ever
You know... It's kind of sad fo Link because even though this whole time his adventure was in a dream, Link got to see all of the people from his previous adventures in Hyrule, Holodrum, and Labrynna... All to just have to face the fact that he's all alone in the ocean, stuck...
It's been a decade since I finished this game and I think someone who understood the story would shed tears upon hearing this song while seeing visions what happened as if your link. Depressing but it makes you feel and appreciate what you have or had in your life.
+1
Ramon Vicente Vallesteros Ricafrente tbh I shed a few tears
...It be the nature of dreams to end! When I dost awaken. Koholint will be gone... only the memory of this dream land will exist in the waking world... someday. Thou may recall this island... That memory must be the real dream world...
I just beat Link's Awakening, though I unfortunately did not get the final ending.
But I had already known the ending years ago when I saw a friend beat it, so more or less, I was playing through it to fill in the gaps in the story I didn't see, and so I could beat all the games. But this song... Hearing it play as you see the entire island disappear, especially when you see Marin singing in the village... Considering the limits of the technology on the Gameboy, this game was exceptional, and the story was fulfilling. Fighting the Nightmares of bosses from other games, and future games (one of them was similar to Vaati in Four Swords), and the waking of the Wind Fish, and it's mixed consequences. On one hand, you are saving yourself from the dream world, and freeing the Wind Fish of its Nightmares. On the other hand, all the people you met, who you helped... You made them disappear... This game was amazing.
Best Zelda game, no question.
They should totally make a remake.
Roy Pherae I'd play it in a heartbeat, but part of the game's magic is its fully realized world that's deceivingly simple. The graphical limitations made the world seem interesting, but nothing special. It's when you progress through the game that the ins and outs of the complicated world become clear, and you realize just how brilliant the construction of the world really is. I don't know if a remake would be able to do the same. Who knows.
Roy Pherae there should also be a movie.
I have it on Emulator!
me too
but i cant save :p
Ballad of the Windfish gonna play that at my Funeral :)
who said that im your friend ?
+cookieplayer HD chill
Ça fais 7 ou 8 fois que je la réécoute et à chaque fois à la fin je peux pas m'empêcher de la remette, encore et encore
Nothing but calmness, nothing more, nothing less, 👏👏👏👏
I must've been 10 years old playing this game when I discovered dat attraction between Link and Marin. I wanted them to be together and was disappointed that Marin disappeared with Koholint. :'( Those dreams, boys and girls. Those were some (wet) dreams.
If you get 100% completion, you see Marin get her wish......
You actually must complete the game without having died once.
Optimalillusion Thanks for the reminder of bitter sweet memories. I did 100% w/o death on the GBA (using the DX cart) And cried (LITERALLY CRIED) at the end.
...One thing about Truly Great Memories and Music that Makes it Legendary... After Countless years you Look back and Revisit the Places you once visit and Even Forgotten... theirs a Fine Line Between Fond Memories... And a Heartache.
So emotional version....
Oh man, the feels I get from this song. Every tear I have falls and every hair on my arm stands up
I read the manga and cried so hard, that when i listen to this, i have to cry even more.
i didnt know sasuke read zelda manga. hmm
800blake
what else do you expect him to do? his mangas over, gotta find a new one.
***** very true. still i thought hed be reading something more shonen
To a fellow Zelda player PLZ robin, RIP. And thank you for all the joy and laughter you brought to ALOT.
who would have thought that what was part of our past has returned to the present has forged beautiful memories bathed in nostalgia.
I would pay a lot of money for a highly graphical rendition of this game with a graphical scene of him playing this rendition of the song on top of the egg.
Guess what buddy
This brings back memories! Link's Awakening was the first Zelda game I played. I miss the old days!
One of only five things that get me to cry, and one of only 2 that can do so consistently...
This is the most beautiful Zelda Song ever.
2nd 1st is Zelds lullaby
+Parrallagram Emma Burns well in retro style its 2nd
I was wrong. I just played Majora's Mask Recently and I cried after saving the Father life of a little girl in Ikana Kingdome. The song searched in the bottom of my heart. Sorry but nothing is more beautiful than the song of Healing
This is too beautiful for words...thanks for composing one of my favorite legend of Zelda songs of all time:)
Sounds like it would fit in Skyward Sword.
totally
Its still missing in action. The remake anyways.
No, Skyward sucks, this is great!
Movies, most games and even Clannad(if you get this rock on) cant move me close to tears but just the first few notes of this song bring back all the emotion I felt when i played this game..... it shows that the graphics culture we have fallen into has sacrificed on the what makes games truly great the story though a few games do it great its nowhere close to what these games achieved its been years since i played this but it still caused the same responce it did years ago... truly moving
first Zelda game I ever played, I've been humming this song for 3/4 of my life, and I'm only 16. This and Midna's Lament/ Desperate Hour hold a special place in my heart.
2019 Link’s Reawakening
I'm crying. So many moving things coming to my mind while listening to this wonderful theme played this way... :'{
REMAKE FUCK YEAH
aw man, this was the first game i got to my gameboy.. Listening to this song brings back memories of how much time i put into playing that game, one of the games that started my present gaming life.. Good times, Good times^^
this makes me think of an old man. he sits alone in the park, you past by him once or twice a week. he often stares into the distance. or maybe the pond. sitting in only half the bench. you never bothered to talk to him. he is old his many years show on his face. wants to be in a public place bc it's just easier then sitting alone. it never occurs to you, does it? the memories eat at him. he can still remember the smell of her hair. the taste of her lips. he never loved like that again. yearning for the grace of her finger tips as they slide between his. the days advance. you see him a few more times. you wonder why he just sits there alone. the old man's insides still turning. it was an eternity for him. nothing was worth doing to the old man. eyes always kind of red. never really knew why... never really cared. then one night laying in bed thinking about all the daily things. the old man flashed in your mind. as you drift away I wonder what it's like to be old. you wake the next day on your way to school. part of you hopes to see the old man in the park again. in recent days he had been there every day. today... he wasn't there. he was gone. you sit in his spot you notice that there are two set of initials carved into the wood bench. you then realize they we his and hers... you knew in your heart. he was waiting to love her again. maybe this was the spot he told her he lived her. maybe the old man shared his frist kiss with her here. deep down you knew he was gone... your cried for a moment for someone you didn't even know... but the you smiled and knew that old old man was holding hands with her again...
Holy shit dude, thanks for the feels trip
UraKn0x I am sorry, but you're welcome.
Wonderful
This was not the first Zelda game I ever played, Ocarina of Time holds that honor, but it is the one that made me cry the most. I mean, the sheer amount of emotion this game evokes is just unreal! And I love it. It was goofy, yet serious, sad yet also cheerful. I will NEVER forget this game. It will always hold a special place in my heart. And if Nintendo is any sort of smart ( which I sometimes wonder about ) they will do a remake of it with the Link between worlds engine.
A beautiful blend of Celtic style and the Ballad itself. Be proud of the artist movement you've made and the joy you have brought so many it would seem. ^5
This was one of the first games I ever played that got an emotional response from me. I was rather young. I literally cried when reading the manga. Everytime I hear this version of the song I cry. As a grown as 30 year old guy, not many things get that response from me.
I hope the remake does not lose this feeling, and can't bring myself to play it because of this.
oh, the remake certainly will make you cry too... it's so beautiful, the music, and everything, just a perfect remake! oh, and there is something special in the credits if you manage not to die once through the playthrough!
Had this song saved on my desktop before I saw this video. Truly the best remake of this song out there.
first zelda game i ever beat. after watching my mother die at a young age this game helped me cope only to hit me right in the emotion box at the end. this game and song will always hold a special place in my heart
This game has brings up so many emotions in me with it's music.
I never actually played the game, but this song makes me want to get it, it's that good. Fox Amoore, you rock.
OMG, I have tears in my eyes . . . this is so beautiful... WHOA, words can't discribe what I am feeling now !! Memories ... so much memories !!
The time has already gone . . . !! THANK YOU, THANK YOU VERY MUCH you're pretty amazing !!
Omg... I'm now just searching the Ballad of the Wind Fish songs on youtube. I absolutely love this song, IMO it's one of the best Zelda songs every created.
I just finished the game tonight. This is best remix of the tune. Thank you for making this.
It's an old one, but this remake remains to be the best version i've heard yet.
Its just so tragic sounding, hard to describe
*Manly tears have been shed*
From the wind, into my soul. Across the lands, the fish flys.
This makes me love Zelda more than I do now. The music is so powerful in a way, relaxing, it hits you in the feels, the games give you a challenge, they have amazing stories. Zelda really is a masterpiece, people need to see what a really good game series this is.
thanks, I have figured out what I was doing in the first place. Starting from Nintendo DS, collecting so many games, Getting the rare nes classic, gaining access to my dad's n64, and last but not least being a Nintendo fan in general.
This will forever be one of my favorite arrangements.
One of my favorite pieces from the entire series. You did an amazing job, Fox!
This is,... Beautiful.. Brought a tear to my eye.
So much passion. Can't control my tears
FoxAmoore is an effing incredible composer. His originals as well as his covers always invoke something deep inside. If you haven't checked his stuff, DO IT NOW!
brings back so many memories...
This is the most beautiful remake of the Balld of the Wind Fish song.
I feel like my entire childhood is contained within this song.
Oh the memories :) LA was the first LOZ game I ever played and all the music from it is just... amazing. This is a wonderful remix!
How have I never heard this masterpiece until just now?
Oh man. I remember humming this song as a kid, annoyed that my parents didn't like how simple it sounded on my gameboy.
I'm gonna show them this and blow their socks off.
*used this theme as scarerox theme in ocarina of time years after* "i never, and never gotta forget you Marin"
Wait, what?
This song has such beauty to it. You can play it so many ways have such different impacts from them. The game itself is one of my favourites. You always wish after you have won the game to head back and find that lost island and those you have grown friendships with but it was all a dream so was any of it truly real?
this song brings back many memories of the past...
Oh man, this is awesome. I loved that song so much. It's amazing how they were able to make such memorable music with the limited sound capabilities of the old Gameboy. This is a superb rendition.
Why does this get me nostalgic?
...I just started this game yesterday...
this game is simply beautiful... just like this song. this was by far one of my favorite zelda games... the quality of the storytelling just cant be found in most games made now-a-days. Dispite this song being so beautiful, 10 people had it in their hearts to dislike this... this song does such justice to the game that I dont see how anyone could not like it...
THE LEGEND NEVER DIES
Beautiful. Just beautiful
Such a beautiful song, and yet so haunting when you recall its purpose... an entire island, vanished to the point of never having been.
Can listen every day to it.
amazing! This was the frist loz game i ever played, and fell in love with them instantly. now i own all of them and beat them all, but this one will always be my first.
Definitely the best rendition of the song I've found so far. This song almost made me cry when I heard just the original 8-bit version. I almost felt sorry when I beat the final boss....
I feel simply horrible for Link at the end. The friends he made, the love he had, and the adventure of a lifetime are all lost forever to the world of dreams. The only thing he can do is call upon his memories to relive the moments that he had to inevitably leave behind.
One of the best songs in the zelda series(if not the best)
One of the best zelda game
Incredible remake
20 seconds into it, i had chills running down my back and a tear was brought to my eye
awesome, beautiful, and epic, words that can't begin to describe how remarkable this song is
Basically, the story behind this game is that an island was created from the dreams of a spirit known as the windfish. The windfish was forced into an endless slumber, sealed by an egg. This egg of darkness was created by his deepest nightmares that came to reality. Link washed up on this island after leaving the realm when saved Nayru in oracle of ages. He meets a girl named Marin who ends up falling in love with link. After finding an ocarina, Marin teaches link the ballad of the windfish. This tune played, using the ocarina would react with the key instruments (if in inventory) would open the egg. Link enters the egg and defeats the nightmare. The windfish then talks to link, and they wake up together. The island then disappears with everything and everyone (including Marin) in it.
I just noticed... The chords at the end of the song sounds like breathing, as if music itself was breathing. And at the end, Link wakes up. This is such a good song.
Oh ... my... word... Literally the best version I have heard yet. No EVER!
:') you my good sir are the bomb... My heart flutters to the sound of beautiful Zelda Music... Tears were shed tonight :')
I've always loved his version of lugia's theme. Wish I'd known he did this piece sooner; I was tearing up in the first twenty seconds ;_; absolutely beautiful
2019 - The year this game is being remade. Beyond excited. Awesome cover btw
I've never played Link's Awakening, I always thought it was a bad game. Recently I've been listening to some Zelda Soundtracks and found that some of the best music from all of the LoZ soundtracks seems to come from this game and ALttP. I did my research on this games story, found out the meaning of this song, and now I can't stop listening. It almost made me tear up after I listened to this while knowing it's significance.
The nostalgia that just hits me while hearing this really makes me sad and happy, I remember playing this game at my old house whilst my cat lay sleeping next to me, I remember the road trip where I brought this game with me, and the day I finally beat it, the day I lost the game, and today, the day I wish I could play it again...
I almost cried when I heard this... and I never even played LA. This song is so beautiful words can't describe, it equals the serenade of water for the saddest song in LoZ.
Sounds amazing it remember me my childhood
very emotional take at this wonderful song, thank you!
This, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask all tug at my heart-strings at the end. Best song from an Zelda game ever.
wonderful, gives me goosebumpes all over my body
This is truly splendid.
A song called "Ballad of the Wind Fish" appeared in Majora's Mask, but it was completely different from this song.
The best version of this song...wow
That's so beautiful i think that i will cry
i think this was one of the best zelda games to this day still>_>
Beautiful melody...
Im gonna cry!!!1 NO SERIOUSLY!!!!! SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
man amazing job! this gave me chills listening to it. very nice.
