- We headed to Chiang Rai, Thailand's northernmost province. In this vlog, we explore some of the famous temples in the city, before searching for some delicious food in the mall. The one temple we had heard about was the white temple, a modern structure that is sometimes called "heaven." It's definitely unique, but we're not sure how we feel about it just yet. Afterward, we explored another modern temple which has been beautifully decorated with vibrant blue colors. In the next video, we'll be exploring more of Chiang Rai as we road trip Northern Thailand.

The country side looks and sounds so relaxing!! And the outside of the White Temple is insanely detailed! It’s always frustrating when something you hyped up leaves you feeling underwhelmed but so glad you went on to see the blue dancing dragon temple! They are definitely very unique and artistic!

when you order Thai foods next time, you can say these to the waiter or street vendor ... "mai ped (no spicy)", or , "ped noi (less spicy)"..... hope this help,

White temple was built by well known Thai national artist named Chalermchai and the temple still unfinished. He is one of the greatest artist in Thailand and he has great skill at painting and sculpture. All of his arts involve Buddhism. He also has funny personality that why he built many super hero sculpture around the white temple.
The artist who built blue temple is also Chalermchai's student.
Both are very skilled! We could see his personality inside the white temple! Thanks for watching :)

As the opening shot showed, there's a lot in the White Temple grounds, such as an art gallery. So much to see apart from the main temple. Chiang Rai is great for food. There's a small night market north of the cat cafe and a huge Saturday night market just north of the clock tower.
So much to see around the area! For some reason, I think the other parts of the white temple were closed when we were there.

Some said when you are enjoy spicy food, it hard to go back without it. Thai condiment rule; start putting source/spice little by little till you like the taste. Hope you have some time to go to the Tham Luang cave where they rescued 13 boys.

That chilli paste is extremely hot 🥵… you should add slightly 😅
When you order food, just tell them not spicy. A lot of foods can make it mild or a little bit spicy.
Nikki definitely went overboard with the chili sauce.

A lot of Thais don't put the chili paste as much as you put in your noodle bowls. Be careful!
