SpaGuy, you should try to get in touch with a fella named Medicus Elam Phipps. He is the son of Hardie Phipps. Hardie Phipps is the one who made the Nativity Scenes for Elvis and also made other seasonal displays for Southland Mall and other stores as well. I had the honor of working with Med and his dad Hardie once putting the Nativity Scene decorations up at Graceland and Southland Mall. I believe the fans would be thrilled to see the man who created these works of art that are almost as legendary as Elvis. Hardie Phipps continued putting the Nativity Scene up at Graceland every year until around the late 1980's/early nineties. I believe that's when Graceland purchased the Nativity Scene from Mr.Phipps. His son, Med Phipps,from the last I knew, used to go to the Big One Flea Market regularly. It's brilliant how Graceland holds to the traditions of when Elvis was alive.... I love putting up my own decorations but mine are down by January 8th even though that is also my own birthday... It's an honour to share Elvis's birthday..

Fantastic! Such a pretty place. My one visit to Graceland was in May and it was very pretty during that time of year but I'd love to see it during the holidays. I wonder if anyone tried to jump over that wall back then or even today - doesn't it look low enough? I wonder what they do for security there.

Hey spa guy this may interest you as it did me when I seen this video . I noticed the medal historical sign there at the gate, when I was there in 1998 first of all Elvis Presley Blvd was lined with flags on poles with Elvis' name on all with the spelling Elvis Aron Presley note the one A in Aron the medal historical sign at that time was standing on the left of the gate upon entrance and couldn't help but notice that not only is the sign sitting to the right of the gate now it also has the spelling of Elvis' middle name with 2 AA' s ?!!!
Diana it does have 2 aa's now.. The first Time I was there in 1988 I have pictures and film of it will one A and it was like that for a long time.. I don't know when it changed.. I never saw it to the left of the gate it has always been in that spot since I have been going to Graceland.. The sign def changed though.. have tried to find the original sign.. No luck so far..

It never was 10 feet tall. The side and back fences were only 6' until After Elvis passed..

It is warmer than normal for the time but we are still in Fall until December 21st this year.. Some years we have mild winters and it never really gets cold for long periods it will be 30 for 2-3 days them 60-70 for a few.. Nice to hear from you, Spa Guy

Spa guy... I have a lot of questions lol but I'll start with this one...Why are there no pictures of Elvis and his mother being reinterred at Graceland? Have I just not found them? I've seen two pics of after they were buried. I find it hard to believe someone wouldn't have snapped a pic. We have a coffin pic but no second burial pic?? It's bizarre. I found a supposed pic on Pinterest but it is an obvious fake. The fans were so devastated after his passing I find it hard to believe there wasn't fans at the gate. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Not to sound like a conspiracy theory but... I think he died in '77... I don't think he's buried there. I wish I could find a copy of a bill or check paid to the funeral home that moved the bodies. I'll hush now... It's just not sitting right with me and won't till I have some answers.
