  • Kolkata to Guwahati (Assam) by Kanchanjunga Express: You'll board the Kanchanjunga Express from Kolkata to Guwahati. The train journey is about 23 hours.
Guwahati to Bhairabkunda (Assam-Bhutan-Arunachal border): From Guwahati, you can hire a car or taxi to Bhairabkunda, which is about 4-5 hours away. Bhairabkunda is a picturesque location at the tri-junction of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Bhutan. To visit Bhutan Entry Gate, please note that if you want to enter Bhutan, you need to have necessary permits. If you're from India, then Indian valid Voter card is required or valid passport.
Bhairabkunda to Bomdila (Arunachal Pradesh): Journey to Bomdila, Arunachal Pradesh, the drive, which usually takes about 5-6 hours, requires an Inner Line Permit (ILP) for entry. We'll be traveling along the NH13 towards Shergaon, the stunning views throughout the journey will truly captivate your heart.
Upon reaching Shergaon, we decided to stop at an apple orchard. However, being November, it wasn't the season for apples, so we didn't witness the orchard in its full glory.
En route to the Chilipam Monastery, we halted at the Chilipam Waterfall. The Chilipam Monastery was indeed a fantastic recommendation. This unique monastery left us in awe, and we spent a little over an hour exploring its tranquility.
Throughout the journey, it became clear that it's not just about the destination; it's about the journey itself. This journey was a wonderful reminder that sometimes, the journey can be just as important, if not more so, than the destination.
We arrived in Bomdila, perched at an elevation of 7,240 feet, around 5:30 pm. This charming hill station captivated us with its serene ambiance and pristine landscapes. After a long journey, we settled into Hotel Hill Plaza, our accommodation for the stay.
