- In this episode of Experts React, former US Army elite sniper, Richard Maynes, reacts to the “All Ghillied Up” mission from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
He talks about tactics, like how do snipers move around unnoticed? Do they engage in close quarter combat? Where do they get their ghillie suits?
Are suppressors effective? Is the Barret .50 Cal accurate? What are the main kill shots that they use?
Also, would they carry a wounded soldier in the battlefield?
Learn all this and more in this Experts React episode.

➡ MESSAGE FROM RICHARD, OUR LOVELY SNIPER ⬅
Hey guys just wanted to say clearly the weapon used was not a bolt action, I was so into the game and commentating that I didn't notice the weapon system. Either way snipers do not clear rooms, if there is room clearing they would have a fire team attached for security and support.
I'm thankful for your comments and your attention to detail so keep them coming.
One shot one kill!
@The Military Channel in this scenario you would do what it takes to complete the mission and give valuable information in the debrief. Your partner understands this and would tell you the same thing. Movies and videos are great but in real life ppl come home and some don't, that is war
@The Military Channel in a situation like that you have to leave him behind and your partner would say the same thing
@The Military Channel You need to understand that movies are fake. They don't show what actually happens in such situation. I guess there are not more than 2 people in a sniper mission and because it's a sniper mission, it is obvious that the information they wanna get Is valuable and so in those situation, you need to get that information to your seniors. In spec ops or other kinda mission, you have a big team with you. So, you can try help your injured buddy and not leave him/her behind.
@The Military Channel Wait, are you the medic in squad or one of the firemen? Cause you mentioned First aid training and cls, both are medical related training. So, from your reply, I only understand that you help in medical emergencies and if that's the case, then obviously you have to help the wounded. I don't mean any disrespect in any form. I am writing what I understood from your reply. Don't get offended in any form✌️

lol Took a stupid amount of time to complete. I eventually found out you could hide under the table in that little shack next to it and at just the right angle, you could hold out the whole seven minutes by barely doing anything.
Dude right! So many grenades everywhere lmao
I like the optimism of this guy. He just knows what is real and not gets salty for unreal things because he knows it is for entertainment.
Exactly , I pointed this out to Gameology a couple of weeks back. This guy knows when and where to draw the line in his review between realism possible in a game and stark realism.
too bad the companies behind those games are still branding them as "realistic" even when some small details as the weapons are modelled like shit
We should get former soldiers like this dude to make a military game maybe it will be realistic
@@swissarmygaming5321 that’ll be a military simulation at that point. Wouldn’t be as fun.

I am surprised that suppressors being too quiet hasn’t been pointed out more often in these Experts react videos.
Maybe the other Experts thought that the gun was already loaded with sub sonic ammunition (Yes I know Sub sonic is still not fully silent obviously, but still better then only having a suppressor)
He mentions it at 5:16
@@RH-le9iy I assume your comment is not directed at me otherwise it wouldn't make much sense
@@RH-le9iy I noticed that, hence the “more” in my original comment. I was referring to the other videos of the series where the other veterans seem cool with how suppressor works in games/movies.
Yea fr it all depends on the gun and the round. There are bullets made for suppressors but it just isnt as quiet as yall cityboys think they are
I like the difference between him and the spec ops guys. They were more "we leave no one behind" and he is more "you have to abandon him so you can return alive and give that information"
Different branch, different roles, different prioties. His info can save dozens of lives.
@@9051team Truly, it really depends on who you’re working for. Some branches prioritize the team above the mission, more of the intel gathering is based on the mission priority it seems. How you rationale with that morally, is, you all know the risk you’re taking, usually everyone would be on board with what the other would do if you’re unable to complete the mission after a mishap occurs.
@@9051team He didn't really have much info, since the deal going on there was known about already and they took out the target. Getting the others would be great but neither of them likely have much info.

i saw that and went “oh wow is this some type of trick i didn’t know ?” and by the end none of them went off 😂😂
Just in case they wanna drive or have a seat of course.
As I remember if you placed it in front of a car like that, as the enemy took cover behind the car it would set off the claymore and cause the car to explode killing more then the claymore alone. Obviously thats not realistic at all but it worked well in games.

Love this mate. Humble, relaxed and with loads of knowledge for the way and phase he talks. I need more.
I must say, I find the contrast interesting between this and previous episode which covered this particular mission. Here the sniper with no hesitance said that it would be plausible to leave a buddy behind if it was to be for mission success. The SF operators on another hand, without missing a heart beat, said that you're not leaving a buddy behind. An interesting difference in mindsets there!
Big difference between a 2 man sniper team and a 6 man spec ops team. Obviously with 5 other team mates the risk is justified, but with only 2 it isn't. The mission is always priority.

This is an excellent video. Very educational. Ty!
What you said about leaving him behind is really true. I see some guys talking like 'both of us come back or nobody does'. We were in a firefight on the east of Turkey back in 2009, our lieutenant was injured and we had to carry him. But at that time, we couldn't get air support because of the fog, bad weather etc. So, we had to walk/drag like 50-60km before we could reach a safe zone. We left him behind after 3 hours dragging him, somewhere near the Avasin camp of the PKK (we were with 12, 3 martyred and lieutenant injured). He survived another 1,5 day. Our other teams went for him, they got him by chopper and brought him safe home. So even with 8, we couldn't carry him longer because 3-4 days you scan the area (back then we didn't have drones), you get tired of 30+kg on your back, everywhere is a mountain, you fall, you are hungry, it's cold etc etc etc. If we dragged him with us, maybe the PKK would catch us and kill/take prisoners.. We left him i a 'relative' safe spot back then.. Ow before I forget, we also had to carry our dead buddies, so we left the injured lieutenant behind (it was his call, and it was a smart move because he saw some movement)
I think it would go down with those 2 shots since at 6:49 I saw that one of those shots took out the pilot in the back, which I think that's the one who controls the helicopter
The helicopter wouldn’t have caught fire though which I’m pretty sure is what he was referring to
Love the videos with this guy, but I believe both of the guys on this mission are British SAS(Special Forces) and they’re using a DMR with a 9mm for a sidearm.
I agree that the mission by all means is probably something that would never happen in real life, but I think British SAS are plenty qualified for close quarters infiltration.
5:30 Yeah, I hear that a lot. From what I hear, suppressors don't work to silence a gunshot, because that's just not possible. Instead they turn the bang into more of a "crack" sound that people will have a harder time finding the source of and obscure the muzzle flash.
I also served in the BRO for a time. "No mission too difficult, No sacrifice too great, Victory!"
