This is my 2nd year coaching JFL and this year I am the DC of the team. We coach 3rd thru 6th graders and it is very challenging BUT extremely satisfying to teach these kids the game I love. Your content is so helpful in my day to day learning. I feel you can never learn too much. Thanks for putting this out there for us new guys.
You’ve been a life saver coach! I played ball for 14 years, 2 years of JUCO but I’m 40 so that was a long time ago. I haven’t coached a down of football in my life so I purchased your Double Wing, Wing T, Wishbone and I-Formation playbooks. I can only imagine the work that went into creating these publications man, it’s really incredible! Thank a lot!
Thank you so much for putting out this video Coach! Any chance you could make one about vocabulary terms for first year players'coaches? As I learn more and more about the game I love, first year coach here, I'm overwhelmed by the abundance and variety of terms and phrases, and so confused! Some are obvious, some are not. Great channel!!
One more thing please: how can I forget familiar with the "medical side" of the things? Got a video on that? Like sprains are most common, and what else. Besides the FIRST AID course offered by AMERICAN RED CROSS, I'd like to understand 8-teen boys bodies better and how they develop gradually, and understanding esp what is within their capacity. We don't get team doctors right! So what and how is the best way to prepare myself here???? Thank you again Coach! Love your videos!
@@coachparker Thank you. Right now I'm just looking for someone to break the game down to me in the simplest form. I assist the offensive coach, but he's old school so their isn't a lot of talking or explaining. I have to figure out most of what I know through videos such as this.
My first year coaching this year , coaching 5th and 6th grades at a elementary school , any insights or advice for how to plan the first practice or week ?
Here are a few things. coachparker.org/2022/07/25/youth-football-practice-plans-8u/ coachparker.org/2014/08/18/first-practice-youth-football-2014/ Let me if you have any questions. Parker
@@coachparker do you have videos on the games/ conditioning you give the kids to end the day ? I don’t want to get them bored or tired by running snakes or doing up downs , I like that you have a fun game to end the practice that is conditioning, I believe at this age level the number one priority should be fun for the kids so I’m on board for ending my practice like that too
@@coachparker also how can I create a simple wrist play calling system , I wanna be able to give the plays from the sideline but don’t want things to be to complicated for them , was thinking of using colors and number so like Blue1 = Beast 28 stretch and etc , you think a system like that would work ?
i use wrist coaches, crazy funny nicknames also as audibles and numbering system. if you join my private fb group there is a wrist coach example and here some more too coachparker.org/2013/05/24/youth-football-audible-system-hurry-up-offense/
