I’m reading the book - A Pattern Language - if you like not just bikes … you’ll like it.
Added to the list
@@curtisgmchale I'll second it, it is standard Architect/Building Engineer(me) first year uni entry text... ... it is a skim read and go back as details come to mind type book... ... too heavy to 'digest' in one cover to cover sitting.
I'll throw a 3rd in for A Pattern Language.
Livable Cities and urban planning books are a genre I read a fair amount of and may have other recommendations, if not a lot of others.
@@ThomasVanderWal Any suggestions for books on urban mobility ?
Looking forward to your "smart city" book suggestion.
I am using Obsidian still to capture my notes and generate RUclips content.
Using Readwise to aggregate highlights from different sources
Inoreader to aggregate and process blogs and newsletters content into Obsidian.
Interesting point about the Obsidian iPad app, I think I will stick with Macbook Pro!
Yeah if you work on a mac most of the time Obsidian is great.
@@curtisgmchale Yes... ... the "mini idea/thought capture" isn't there in phone level mobile for Obsidian, so still using either mail to my self - the old way - or directly into Evernote, with a daily/weekly, cleared tag to deal with it and/or to put is somewhere sensible.
@@timbushell8640 and if that works for you keep at it.
Great video. Is there a link to the fix for adding deep links in Craft to DT? You mentioned the link but I did not see it...
Great video! I’m using Apple Notes for storage because it’s so flexible, free, and private. I’ve found the AI in Apple notes to do better than many of the apps specifically designed for storing such information. For my processing/Zettelkasten I use Bear notes. I tried Craft but just didn’t like it for how I write. Bear for me personally is faster.
Always stick with what works for you.
The price is right for sure and I use it a lot because it updates to the cloud in real time. It is limited though. When I do a search I can usually find what I need but there is no way to go up the hierarchy. Notebooks 10 and Scrivener can do that but they require a more sophisticated cloud service like Dropbox. Also, you have to save and update manually.
@@skepticsr_us Alfred/Zap/IFTTT... ... ?
I saw Craft added offline / moveable data. That's a really big thing. They're moving at an Obsidian pace.
They did add this, though I think I’ll wait before trying it. One or two users in Slack have commented about data loss so...I’ll let someone else beta test that part.
what tool do you use for downloading video to Devonthink?
Downie which is available on SetApp
Consider waiting for Wahoo Multi activity watch
I’ve seen reviews of the watch that’s out and it seems okay as a first try but not excellent. I’ve got an Edge 500 already and am leaning towards a Fenix watch to replace my Suunto Ambit 3. I’ll get my wife a Coros watch for her birthday in April.
I’m considering whether I should go for Devon think or not. Most of the videos I’ve seen about it seem like people are mostly using it as a file storage solution. If so, what does Devon think offer that simply using an organisational system like johnnydecimal with regular finder doesn’t?
Far better search across Mac and iOS. Can use AI to surface relevant files that may be similar to what you’re currently looking at. Even if you move a file the internal DT link still links to the file. Many other things
@@curtisgmchale do you require the pro version to make the best use of that though out The basic version works just as well?
Some features are in Pro but I’m not sure which ones. You’ll have to check
@@curtisgmchale ok thanks :)
You remind me so much of Andy Serkis. Including your calming demeanor.
