WIN and Mix&Match are considered the most brutal survival shows in K-pop :D (and you should definitely react to them), back then iKON being trainees had to actually do the majority of by themselves as a team/teams (compose and write songs, create a choreo and stage performances, sometimes find/make outfits etc) which usually isn't the case anymore (as far as I know, the focus on new survival shows are on less and different things + contestants usually don't know each other that well). They even learnt acrobatics and competed with others and each other a lot, which also strengthened their mentality (and also traumatized them a lot lol). So yeah, going through ~3 survival shows each, iKON debuted very strongly. They are one of the very few Legendary Rookies (or Monster Rookies) in whole K-pop, immediately snatching awards in many countries and got famous for their teamwork. They didn't even debut on a music show stage, they debuted at their own freaking concert. Brutal training is also the reason why they are indestructible and why iKON always rises after many falls; each of them when needed becomes a rapper, a dancer, a singer, a songwriter etc. 'Self-producing group' isn't a joke when it comes to iKON, now that they joined a small company, they also literally take care of album production/promotions/research themselves as well :D So yeah. iKONICs have witnessed how all those survivals (now counting up to 5 for each member) scarred them but also they wouldn't be so strong, versatile and skilled if it wasn't for all those experiences.
P.S. And also you probably would be surprised to see them in WIN/M&M if you've seen Kingdom. Because iKON have been through hard competitions and also took this show seriously at first but then quickly realised Kingdom wasn't really about showing your skills as much as making grand performances so... then they were literally chilling and having fun showing themselves until the final episode :D I don't think any other group on Kingdom was as chill and laid back as iKON were. That's why they gained fans, with their attitude of 'let's work hard but have a lot of fun on the stage' which is like their motto. Of course, they've been through several survival shows already and they just didn't give a F anymore. They even dissed Mnet and that show in their performances if you read the lyrics lol. But WIN and M&M were totally different for them, much more stressful.

For now, Yunhyeong's and Chanwoo's youtube channels are mostly known among iKONICs than the other way, but some people know Yunhyeong from variety shows on TV (as he does them in his own solo work too), Chanwoo is a loyal fan of LG Twins (Korean baseball team) and lots of LG Twins actually support iKON in return now, Junhoe recently started acting in dramas and people do come to check out iKON after seeing him there, also insane amount of Koreans mostly know Bobby through his hip-hop career, cuz his win at the underground rapper show SMTM popularized hip-hop in the country and people still think his stages were legendary. That's why Bobby is considered the "face of the group", cuz he is unique and has outside solo popularity, so he introduces the group to a lot of new people.=) Junhoe keeps getting more new acting roles, and I'm actually curious to see how many new fans will appear after seeing him in dramas:D
I'm not a K-pop fan but this group made me appreciate it. They are very talented. What I love the most about them is that they hate lip-syncing. THEY ARE KNOWN AS LEGENDARY.

Thank you for reacting to iKON. Since you ask, Team A was the winner of the WIN survival show and is known as WINNER. Team B was created in Mix&Match and is iKON. The shows are the most brutal of all the kpop shows out there. "MOBB" duo is mentioned in the video for Bobby's bio. MOBB is a duo that consists of Mino from WINNER and Bobby from iKON. ☺ iKON has never had official subunits but there are members who have collaborated with each other like Bobby and B.I for Anthem or Ju-ne and Bobby for deep night but the ones who have the most songs together are Bobby and DK so it would be good if you could check some stuff from them. Also the solos, Bobby has 2 albums and 1 single, Jay has 1 mini album. I recommend to check also the last album Take Off because there 3 members have solos songs and you will be surprised by the variety of genres. DK, Bobby and Ju-ne worked on the production. 🚨High recommendation: iKON Killing verse and live performances for DRAGON / AT EASE / TANTARA / RHYTHM TA / APOLOGY🚨

I think it depends on the type of variety survival show regarding the skill level of the idol groups you get. In the case of iKON, they had already been trainees for a number of years at YG (except Chanwoo) when they were on MIX & MATCH as a final "test" before their debut to push them through the finishing line if you will. But for other survival show types like Produce 101, they bring in a lot of contestants that have not really trained or only for very short time among other experienced trainees, so from those shows, you will get a very fresh face trainee who is just exceptionally talented on stage and makes it to the end, this type of trainee always tend to learn & improve quite fast even though they are not perfectly skilled yet.
iKON is a great with live performances,,that why thier concert is a must to attend😊😊its like a party worth every penny you spend,,bout they have concert in US this coming sept,,dallas,,atlanta,newyork,las vegas,denver and los angeles
The video you mentioned PSY is from THE HEROES OF REMIX which is the variety/survival show in China. The show mission is for producer to remix any songs, and iKON is in PSY's team. Recommend indeed.

You have to react to their melon music award live performance in 2016 it is my favourite performance out of all as Bobby has his own intro and introduces ikon
actually most of subscribers of song's youtube channel (songchelin guide) were ikonics or kpop stand who already know ikon. But from his youtube, we love song more since we know his personality thorough. His channel also help many ikonics to stay waiting for ikon during their conflict w bi's scandal. They hiatus for a while but song's youtube and chanwoo's youtube make us know they are doing fine and hoping so.

Must watch solo member reaction: Bobby definitely and Jay had solo album prior his enlistment ♥️ iKON is a group created from reality show but at the same time a long experienced group of trainees. iKON is more of a hiphop group on their earlier days and chaotic too, but their genre of music is very versatile especially if u listen to their b sides, and they also sounded quite different when BI left but also maybe due to maturity. But one thing will never fade from iKON is their passion for music and their wild energy during performances. Their concerts are absolutely one of the hypest and tiring concerts I’ve ever seen. 😂😂😂

My favorite self-produced kpop groups are BIGBANG, iKON & Treasure. I would love a Bobby & B.I. week since they have the discography for it, but I'll settle for individual member days for week #2. For your next reactions, I suggest "Anthem" (with subtitles), "Tantara", "Apology" & "Dumb & Dumber". For upcoming weeks, I suggest checking out some other YG artists/ former artists like Treasure, Epik High & Winner.

TEAM A is WINNER
I think trainees that have gone through survival shows especially some of the more demanding ones like win or mix & match have more performance experience than regular trainees. Because they are forced to perform in from of audiences after only practicing a routine for like a week. Even if they don’t make the final group it’s probably great experience for the job even if it’s not really a great experience emotionally/mentally 😭 for example hongseok of pentagon participated in mix & match but obviously didn’t make it into ikon. But when he then went through the show that created pentagon he probably had a better chance at debut than other trainees who had never been put into those situations if that makes sense

iKON are really talented and have so much personality. I think with skill levels it depends on the training, the attitude, how hard they work and talent. BIGBANG debuted with a high stage craft level cos they had been given a lot of live experience at seniors concerts (and GD first worked professionally aged 6.) I agree that going through talent shows can focus the groups though.
