There are so many riffs here, it is like a collection of catchy hooks. The bassline! The "do-do-do-do"!, the piano line! the bridge with the guitar and the vibraphone!
The thing is back when we first heard this sort of music it was totaly new our parents had listened to 60s stuff, to me it was a bit boring. Suddenly its1975 and you are in high school and around 13/14 and you hear Disco! It was a moment I'll never forget your ears suddenly heard things they had never heard before, your toes were tapping and you wanted to dance like the the dancers on Soultrain, it's sound and energy brought black and white kids together, here in Britain. I remember getting my first job on a building site and listening to this new music, on a Friday night going out to the local Disco, standing by the speakers feeling the bass beating inside you and then plucking up the courage to get on the dance floor and learn to dance. Brilliant days, music was for good, love and happiness. Today's kids I don't understand, they have more than we ever had but they are so angry even their music is angry and not nice, all to dark. Shame really as when they experience Disco/funk/soul they have exactly the same reaction, like a light bulb moment and I love it. Life don't get easier as you get older but one thing I'll take we me when my times up is I was there when the sweetest sounds hit this planet and I'm so glad and lucky I did, love and peace.
No undertones about sex, no violence, no drugs, just innocent lyrics about being happy, having fun and dancing. That's what we need to get back to. And also for anyone saying we need to bring back the 70's, I agree. The style was cool

Without claiming that I was "born in the wrong generation" simply because of music taste, I will say that I'm very partial to 70s funk and disco- even as a millennial. Future Funk and French House partially help to revive music like this and give it a new life to a generation like mine. This song helped power me through a tough few months during the early stages of the pandemic. But even setting aside my personal attachment, there's a real craft to how this music gets me on my feet to dance around in a way that club and house music today simply never has done.
Listen to the phat bassline from Bernard, and unbeatable drum beats from Tony Thompson. It laid the foundation for the house, disco house, french house, future funk decades later.

Without claiming that I was "born in the wrong generation" simply because of music taste, I will say that I'm very partial to 70s funk and disco- even as a millennial.
Future Funk and French House partially help to revive music like this and give it a new life to a generation like mine.
This song helped power me through a tough few months during the early stages of the pandemic. But even setting aside my personal attachment, there's a real craft to how this music gets me on my feet to dance around in a way that club and house music today simply never has done.
Maybe you were. We are all attracted to music that just hits us. No time or limits involved.
