I saw them in 93. Best Christian thrash band live hands down...always my go to
Thanks for the reaction Shane! Living Sacrifice is shamefully underrated. Groove metal that was ahead of its time!
Hello from Ukraine! I love LS more than 20 years. They are great band.
Hello my friend I Hope you are well!
@@ShaneDiablo I and my family are OK. Our house burned down, but we'll make it through. If such a price is needed that the Russian empire collapses - so let it be.
Living Sacrifice still plays. The had members in POD, Zao, and their lead guitarist was in the start of Evanescence. They are The Godfather’s of Christian metal!
Saw them last year opening up for POD
Love this band. One of the best of all time.
My favorite LS album is The Hammering Process!
🤘
I just discovered this album and it absolutely rips from start to finish.
Check out the entire album. You will love it. You will probably appreciate their entire discography. Pioneers in the Christian scene and definitely underrated.
Love me some LS.
LS is the best band ever!! Seen them live 8 times! They say they will put new stuff soon.
wow you must live near them
Love your videos. LS are underground legends along with Zao Training for Utopia. My favorite album is the Hammering Process. Riff and percussion onslaught
You’d love it also that one of their band members, Rocky Gray, also does horror movie scores.
my favorite band of all time..... I still rock this
This is one of my favorite LS tunes. This whole album is insane! Next maybe try one from The Infinite Order. Also a killer album!
They actually started in 1990 with Yielding to the Ungodly demo. Soul Embraced is Lance Garvin & Rocky Gray side project. Self Titled album was released in 1991, followed by NonExistent in 1993 and Inhabit 1994.
I noticed that spotify cripples their discography ignoring their first three official albums. Those are actually my favorite ones with DJ on vocals, after Inhabit they changed their style too much in my opinion. They lost their original essence.
Bloodwork, that track is awesome!
Also, the guy looking into the camera is the guitarist Rocky Gray who was also the one time drummer of Evanescence..
Reborn is NOT their 1st cd. Bad info bro. Living sacrifice self title was released in 91. Nonexistant was next then Inhabit. Reborn is their 4th. They are considered as one of the founding Christian metal bands. Also bookmark Metallum. That is an excellent resource for Metal.
...welcome to Christian metal. Nice to have you aboard 😃
As a going to point this out but see you took care of it. :-} the self titled one is my fave, blew my mind the first time I heard it back in the 90s and still does today.
Saw them at cornerstone festival
Una de mis bandas preferidas The White metal extremi
👍💪
one of my all time FAVE Bands
I appreciate you playing so many Christian Rock and Metal bands. Living Sacrifice is not really my thing. I prefer clean vocals to growls and screamo. That being said, I do have a couple of their albums in my collection. When my kids were middle school age, I checked out as much Christian music as I could find from the local library to expose them to positive alternatives to the music they heard elsewhere. I have over 2000 songs in my digital library from various Christian artists, mostly rock, hard rock, and metal with some great Christian contemporary artists as well (you know, the stuff most Christian radio stations play).
The Sacrifice is still Living since 1991, Sir!
Kicks total axe!
Their guitarist Rocky Gray played drums for Evanescence through their first couple albums
my favorite álbum is Reborn, especially the song Reject, brutal!
Saw them years ago in TX, a friend & myself were first in line waiting for doors to open, someone came out and asked us if we'd like to help unload equipment, we helped haul amps & drum cases to the stage. LS drummer, Lance Garvin, broke a snare spring while setting up, I asked him if I could have it, he laughed, gave me the spring & thanked me for being a fan, Great Guys!!! they played Furnace Fest 2021.
Great Review!!! TY for the laughs U bring to me the wife every day!!!
Can You please do a First Listen for "Holy Coward" by the band PHINEHAS, new music, melt your face solos!
I noticed that spotify also cripples their discography ignoring their first three official albums. Those are actually my favorite ones with DJ on vocals, after Inhabit they changed their style too much in my opinion. They lost their original essence.
I wonder if it has to do with record labelks not wanting to release the material on streaming? or it may be coming up on the mark where they cant release it becasue the band gets the rights to the music back?
@@ShaneDiablo Hey Shane, Yes, I think you're thinking in the right direction. Their label for the first three albums was R.E.X. Music and that label went out of business in 1995. Their fourth album entitled REBORN was produced in 1997 by Tooth and Nail Records. Thanks for your reviews and reactions they are really cool, friend. God bless!
[PS: Shane, please make a video reaction of any of these songs of the album INHABIT by Living Sacrifice, such as: Breathing Murder, Inhabit, Unseen, and Not Beneath.]
Pretty good.
You really should go way back in time with this band. Their self titled first album is a Thrash classic. They kind of morphed into Death Metal for their second album Nonexistent. Kind of a blend of Thrash/Death for their third album Inhabit (Also the last album with the original vocalist/bass) After this they started morphing into more of a metalcore sound. But in my opinion and because thrash is the music I love the most their first self titled album is their best. Wish they had stayed with this style of music. Musically the second album Nonexistent is brilliant but vocally in my opinion it's terrible.
I know what you mean about the vocals on the second album…disappointing. I hated them too but over time they just became part of the overall vibe. Nonexistent is still my favorite.
Reborn was the first album I heard, it blew me away, then it finished with Liar ... blown away by the intensity.
The vocals on Nonexistent sound like a liquid sludge pouring from his mouth. That's the only way I can describe it. The music on the album sounds great though.
Now, "Reborn Empowered", on the other hand, is a great opener for the Reborn album. It makes you want to destroy something close by 😆 The vocals are perfect for the style.
Jams for Jesus and Cranking for Christ! 🤘👼💥 Not a fan of the growly vocal style (always feel like I need to grab a Sucrets after I listen to something like that), but I thought the music was very cool....at least half of the recipe worked for me so HEY, this is still going to count toward Sunday spiritual points....
Crimson Moonlight!! Yes! Do 'Path of Pain" or "Thy Wilderness"
I played their self titled album back in 1991 to death on cassette while lifting weights...it was my go to album to get the adrenaline pumping
18 yrs ago i learnd of this band....and believe me, im in d oda end of the world from where theyre based...but man....this is the first band my elder bro asked me to listen to...instead of....😝😝😝😝....so called....
You're still saying incorrect things that were corrected in the comments on the previous video. They are definitely still around. They just played Furnace Fest, but they haven't put out any music since Ghost Thief. Full Discography:
Living Sacrifice: 1991
Nonexistent: 1992
Inhabit: 1994
Reborn: 1997
The Hammering Process: 2000
Conceived In Fire: 2002
The Infinite Order: 2010
Ghost Thief: 2013
Check out Crimson Moonlight that was mentioned in similar artists. They are blackened death and are one of the most intense bands I've ever heard. Also a Christian (Orthodox) group from Sweden.
Love them. Saw them live twice - great shows.
THIS ISvery late in their discog. imho their best stuff was from the early 90's!(far before the albums u mentioned}
They started in 1990 and you're missing their first 3 albums with REX records, Selftitled, nonexistent, and inhabit.... These are very important albums to the band and you do them a HUGE dishonor not mentioning them......
I noticed that spotify cripples their discography ignoring their first three official albums. Those are actually my favorite ones with DJ on vocals, after Inhabit they changed their style too much in my opinion. They lost their original essence.
“ Son, I threw away your satanic Pantera CDs, but I bought you this to listen to instead”
Good stuff. Cup of tea for me.
Thy Pain put out an EP with Rocky Gray's help
EP is called MORE THAN SUFFERING.
Check it. You will like it!!!
Your headphones are in the wrong ears
