Having recently moved to Calgary, I was completely shocked to discover that Olympic Plaza will not be preserved. As stated here, the bricks were meant to be permanent. Very sad! Keep some history!
@@charlesward9486 , sadly, it's a Canadian thing. At least, Calgary & Alberta is better than most cities (outside Ottawa) for preserving history, believe it or not.
I was there as a kid for one of the ceremonies, its too bad they took it down, I wonder what they gonna build in it's place. There's always a shit load of money involved. They could have preserved it

What they choose to replace that monument with will make or break the soul of Calgary I hope the folks in charge understand that well
