The narrative on oil is even more volatile than the price of oil itself except it comes with a lag. These analysts are useless. Always coming up with a narrative that is consistent with the recent price movements. Never predicting anything.
Why would you say anything before you make moves as traders? Did it ever occur to you that maybe its them who contributed to the recent price moves for oil?
It is all about timing isn't it. Oil might increase in the short run but expect a veritable apocalypse for Big Oil in the coming decade. As China slows down and electrifies and OPEC+ loses it price setting ability
Drilling/Fracking shortage but yet we're against alternative forms of energy. Us oil and gas tycoons don't want to invest in a better grid it's just not profitable and we refuse to invest in solar, wind, hydro and nuclear companies which in turn decreases our profitability our military can't address the shortage problem
i've heard interesting theories that china is arbitraging the btu cost of LNG vs oil rather than viewing oil consumption decline as strictly a china implosion
@@MultiMenvafan yes i tend to agree. however, as rate cuts occur, USD weakens, gov't continues fiscal stimulus, i expect the 3 year oil outlook will be steady, and would continue to hold dividending oil equities
@@LQVendorFP steady for US sure, but the demand growth concerns I would say relate to China. The rally in oil prices since 2000 can mostly be explained by the rise of China. Any setback in growth, or faster than predicted rollout of EVs, will mean oil demand peaks sooner than predicted. That's even my main scenario. That is not saying oil price will crash, but it will never reach 100+ USD again unless dramatic amounts of supply is taken off market, like say another russian revolution.
Who is forcing fund managers to 'mimic some kind of index'? Why are so many rich people so stupid? If you want something that 'mimics an index' why don't you just invest in an S&P 500 ETF, or similar instrument, instead of paying active managers to do it for you?
He just fed you a short term morsel to pull you away from the real move. Oil long into february 25', one more good pullback before so probably in october
What are the best strategies to protect my portfolio?, I've heard that a downturn will devastate the financial market, so I'm concerned about my $200k stock portfolio.
Time to go long oil
Haha yup
USO looking good for a bounce!
And buy OXY
Retail punters have no business going long/short on things like crude oil.
@@mattsmith5856 I am big time any time below 51. I add 5 to 10 shares a day.

Love Paul Sankey and his analysis. Best line- "I'm the President, head analyst, and Janitor of Sankey research."
And yet the prices at the pump havent budged a penny
Oil Companies know Biden is clueless.
'Price stability' - it's all for our own good, apparently.
Probably time to go long. When these guys get bearish it’s usually wrong
China's PMI in the last several months is 51 plus-ish. China is expanding their manufacturing.
They are expanding it by public spending. Debt to GDP in China is around 300%. One positive number does not give you the whole picture.
hedge funds were the most SHORT just recently. we've bottomed

How are Fracking Bonds selling as the Price of the Commodity falls?
Can they be sustained when OPEC+ dumps even more product on World Markets?
I have bought into Exxon and Chevron just now. I think they will do good longterm
China goes Electric. Needs no more Oil. Prices Down. End of Oil.
He wasn't saying this a while ago!
i've heard interesting theories that china is arbitraging the btu cost of LNG vs oil rather than viewing oil consumption decline as strictly a china implosion
To an extent yes, but regardless it's not good for oil as a commodity.

And Saudi agrees to use Petro yuan to sell oil. We have no idea about oil productions anymore. Mr. Sankey is out of date.
What does yuan trade have to do with Saudi production stats? That's a ridiculous narrative.
