    Is he the most talented maybe not but he’s the best fit for the system he is entering and that makes all the difference. He will surprise a lot of people.

      Good point, Brock Purdy isn't the best, yet he went to a superbowl and 2 NFC championships.

    Zach Wilson isn’t that much older than Bo Nix. I feel like Bo played an entire NFL career in college. Probably because he wasn’t ever really good enough to go pro. Just saying.

      @apalachicola05 he played 3 years with auburn, one covid year which gave him another year of eligibility, he transferred to Oregonm the fall short and he came back to try and win a title and fell short again. He literally only helped his draft stock by staying that 5th year and proving he's gotten better since his mediocre Auburn years.

    That's what they thought about Paxton Lynch. Nix came out of an offensive system that teaches QBs almost nothing at all that is valuable for the NFL. That's the word from NFL QB coach Jordan Palmer, who said that when Jarred Stidham arrived in New England after two years at Aurburn, nothing he was taught in college had any value in it for the NFL. Nix played in that system 4 of the 5 years he's been in college, 2 at Auburn & 2 at Oregon with his former OC Kenny Dillingham. In the only season he was outside of it playing for former Boise State coach Bryan Harsin, who brought in pro style NFL type sets to Auburn, Nix struggled, he was temporarily benched, & when he jumped to Oregon to reunite with Dillngham, on the way out the door he described his one season in a more NFL type offense as "a nightmare"
    Stidham sat for 3 years before Payton decided he was worth signing. He sat behind Brady & in the room with Belichick, McDaniels & of course Sean. Do not be surprised if he is the 2024 starter. He was drastically under-valued coming out of college in terms of his talent, & he's now had time to learn how to read NFL defenses. Payton himself said he sees Stidham trending to being an NFL starter for the same reasons he saw that in Brees.

      For 1 he was only with Kenny 1 year at Oregon, number 2 your being up coach palmer I can bring up Kurt Warner and Chris Simms or Joel Klatt who are guys that are high on Bo Nix. You say nothing translates to the NFL from his college time ? Well then name what doesn’t translate a lot of you RUclips commenters say a bunch of general comments and don’t bring any nuisance to the conversation hoping that casuals will just go along with your general assessments the fact is I will bet all my money you’ve never broken down film you go off what other people say or other peoples narratives this is coach Payton’s highest drafted QB ever that says something more than a whatever Jordan Palmer says

      @younggoose7315 Totally with you man. Nix put it all together last year, and there's so much out there in terms of what kind of guy he is. So what if he's not that talented, Drew Brees wasn't that talented either. But he played within the system, was SMART (which is Nixs biggest strength imo) and accurate. Bo knows how to read a defence, knows his O-Line, and knows how to get the ball out. I think if we can find some talented YAC guys the sky is the limit for this offence

    • @aaronhumphrey3514
      @aaronhumphrey3514 4 месяца назад

      You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Lynch literally didn't read defenses at all in college. He was told where to throw every play. On the other hand Nix was constantly making pre-snap and post-snap reads, and even had the power to audible into other plays. The kid's football knowledge and intelligence is easily the best in this class, and it's not even close.

      @@mattf997 He's very talented. Where this notion that he's not talented is coming from is a mystery to me. He's got a good arm that probably about average for an NFL QB, and he's a very good athlete. He's also got football smarts, a good head on his shoulders, and has the ability to throw accurately. The narratives around this kid are really weird.

      Mahomes sat for 15 games. Drew Brees had 27 starts in the NFL before he was ready to be a viable NFL QB. In all likelihood, Nix will need to sit & learn, not start as a rookie.
