Breathtaking scenery, another great video. Maybe time for some walking poles. Don’t stress with replying. Had to look up the space jelly to find out it’s frog eggs but I’m sure you know that. Michigan
Thanks Patricia. Walking poles, or one pole, probably is a good idea because on steep bits I find I'm using the camera tripod. Still not sure about the blobs of slime. I don't think it's frog-spawn, although frogs may somehow be involved. Certain online sources indicate it is a bit of a mystery.
Huge congratulations on the 10K, Ed. The only RUclipsr who asks folk not to subscribe. I unsubscribed to appease but then realised I wouldn't get notifications of your next upload and would miss out on the weekly chuckles I always get from your posts, so have resubscribed again. Sorry and thank you for the brilliant moments of wandering thought.
For a man who finds shopping at Lidl overwhelming, I am amazed at your fortitude to tackle all these adventures that you get up to. At 69 you are amazing.
Well deserved Ed on the 10k, you're a talented man, blaze in the glory and enjoy it! No need to reply, just concentrate on the next video for us viewers)! 😉
Ed, I'm on the beautiful island of Iona just now. I'm saving this video until I get home tomorrow. I've walked often in the Ochils, but this route is one I've often thought about doing, but never got around to.. I'm resisting the temptation to watch, but I will when I get back to Callander tomorrow. See you soon. {Comment soon I mean)
🎉🎉🎉Fantastic 10k….and please don’t stress with your comments to your fans. Views amazing and hope you always have your phone as these leprechauns who leave the stones and perhaps slime might cause you harm😂. The scenery was gorgeous 🏴
The scenery the beautiful music and listening to you.....wonderful way to start my day while as I drink my first tea of the day. Beautiful Scotland. Thank you
That was a slog Ed old mate. I had a cold beer for you as we went along. I hope you got the vibes. The view was great on the other side of those hills I must say. I told my wife about your Scotch eggs. She said I made them for you as part of your meal when I got those quail eggs. I said I think Ed's were made from Ostrich eggs. Love your work Ed, keep the great videos coming .
Congratulations, Ed! Richly deserved. Someone I follow - I can't remember who - uses the heart to show the comment has been read, and only writes a reply if there's something to say.
Hi, can you tell me at what point in the video is Shiehallion? I have only seen it once years back walking around Rannoch Station. Would like to see it again.
Congratulations Ed. 10,000 is an impressive number. Thanks for another interesting and entertaining video. Lovely country side and a perfect day to be out and about. One would hope that most of your viewers appreciate the effort you go through to bring us these videos. It's easy to forget the time and physical exertion that actually goes into making a production. Thanks again Ed.
@EdExploresScotland They say things like, use it or lose it and it's got to be good for you. I'm at a similar age to you, Ed and sometimes these things are easier said than done 🍻
Good walk, but since I have had many visits to the north-west, 'my heart's in the highlands.' An another note... Ed, If I had connections, I'd be trying to get you a voice-over job. Such a great talker, you are. Good on you fella! Cheers
Was starting to fear that you’d been banged up for doing in LIDL’s windows but glad to see you’re back. That looks like some hike across the hills with fantastic views. Superb as always (I don’t need a “Cheers” 😂)
Excellent video as always Ed but some essential things are missing what you need is the woolen jumper then followed by the wool hat with the bobble on top the back pack is perfect next ya need the woolen socks 🧦may I suggest green to blend in nicely with the Scottish country side next should be the "Tom Weir" Ahem I mean the Ed burns heavy duty Hiking 🥾boots and lastly to keep the pesky Midgiees away a fine pipe and Scottish blend tobacco of course I think after all that you'd be ready for any adventure congratulations on the 10 thousand subscribers I think you'll get up to 100,000 yet 😊 well done indeed...
Congratulations on reaching 10,000 subscribers! An interesting walk and excellent views. I've often walked in the area of the Glendevon Reservoirs but have yet to explore Blackford or Tillicoultry. Next time that you're in the Ochils, do visit the excellent Inn at Muckhart, in Pool of Muckhart. Its near Yetts o' Muckhart, so you cant miss it. 😁 There are walks from there, including leading to the Glendevon Reservoirs.
Brilliant video Ed. Love the stone hiding boxes story 😅. They count people numbers using the path , i think. And don't sweat the small stuff about replying to comments and wondering how people react.
The path from the reservoir to Skythorn can be confusing with a lot of options. I have had it bone dry through to total bog, no slime mind. It’s a walk you can have to yourself. The Ochils are great but it’s all ups and downs without much in the way of flat areas.
It's a very good question Norman, and I don't. It certainly makes sense to do so, but I've got no one to tell. I'd certainly advise anyone out in the hills or wilds of Scotland to do just as you advise. It makes so much sense because accidents just happen.
@@normanhill5544 that is something i think about too ,where Ed is concerned. I worry about accidents and him having no one to say where he is going for the day or no one to notice he never got home. Hubby has me write on a chalk board for the days of the week where I'm heading to walk , just incase i don't get home . As I'm 70 he worries about me solo walking.
I have seen some walkers wearing an orange phone thing, which I think gives your position so that in the event of a fall certain persons would know exactly where you are. Mountain rescue would be a good source for advice on this.
Here's my tuppence worth: don't use the OS map in the Ochils. Get the Harvey's map instead. Many of the tracks are omitted from the OS map but the Harvey's one details most of them. The track you climbed initially goes up to Kinpauch Hill, which sits on top of a huge aquifer. It is the source of Highland Spring bottled water. The same water is used to make whisky at the Tullibardine Distillery in Blackford.
great views on that route, thanks for the huge effort. Just to back you up and keep your subscriber numbers to 10,000 , I've unsubscribed 🤣 If I see you ducking below 10,000 I'll sign back up !
Watching a man negotiate a scotch egg is what the internet was created for. Congrats on the first ten thousand bell ringers.
Cheers. Yes, who'd a thought a scotch egg could prove so difficult to manhandle. Very messy things.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hi Iain. Yes, lots of ups and downs. It's these little gorges around tiny streams that get me, and which are often the steepest.
10K 👍. Beautiful Countryside but that seems almost redundant because it is Scotland after all.
Will be back there in October. Counting the days.
The Ochils really are quite stunning.
