On the Soul Assassins tour 1993 I got to hang with Funk Doobiest at Street Side Records on Delmar. I worked at the Record Distributor and went to that concert at it was bonkers!! Great music still to this day!! This was great!! Hip Hop History!!

First concert I ever went to was that Soul Assassins tour in 93 in St Paul MN. We made sure we showed up for Funkdoobiest early as we just loved they’re first album. I remember that stage diving too, as Cypress did that at First Ave as well on solo tour.

I got to experience the Soul Assassin Tour back in 1993 at the Irvine Meadows. I remember it was postponed due to Wild Fires so it took place I believe a week later and it happened to land on Halloween night. Man B Real ain’t lying…we were wilding out from the start of the show. I was 18 years old partyin like a Madman that day…smoking P dogs all night. Good Fuckin times!

What a trip… I was just listening to the gunslinger album yesterday which naturally led to me listening to funk superhero. Then I discovered the clash of the titans album. And then this interview pops up in my feed. Crazy that it’s been almost 20 years since doobie deluxe, I met him at a show around that time. Fuck time flies. So glad to hear some new Son Doobie music.
