Thank you so much, i have range anxiety with my Inmotion RS Midnight riding at no more than 40mph to not get pulled over by rhe cops and was always wanting a scooter with a 60 amp hour battery but never thought i could charge my scooter at a EV station. I used the link and placed my order for one. 🙏🙇♂️
I do the same thing with my E bike, but I go to the Level 2 free chargers, no apps, no muss,no fuss. All you need is the J1772 to Nema 5-15/20. Make sure your brick will accept a 240v input, as the EV stations put out 240V.
lol you can re enforce those connectors to the battery, yes they're flimsy af but mine are covered in an inch of liquid black tape. You don't want water getting in there either best to tape it up
@@skippayless4357 yeah pretty much. It has an app function so you can connect to the bike directly that SurRon doesn’t afaik and the charger it comes with is a little slower (draws like 550a vs 600a SurRon or something close) than SurRon but it’s actually better for your battery because it balances the cell’s better and keep’s your battery lasting longer. If you use a quick charger a lot obviously you get quicker charges but less battery life
You have to be pretty hard up for power and carrying that 10amp charger is heavy. It might just be as easyer to find some store or school that has outside outlets. It sounds good on paper but you have to have a lot of time on your hands to do this.
I was thinking the same, there's waterproof active cooled chargers that can do 30A and also take both 120v and 240v. I just built a bomber clone and mounted one underneath where many people mount the controller. It depends on the battery setup if it can charge at that rate, but I'm running 5s3p 48Ah of lipo and a 25A was perfect for me, it's actually smaller than what he has and the 5-6lbs of weight isn't an issue mounted so low on the bike.
Man I wish I wasn’t so tall… at 6’3 200/lbs I would look redic on a SurRon but man do I want one! That’s a pretty nice setup and I’m gonna assume you’re in California because you guy’s have more charging stations per square mile than anywhere in the country I think. I’m curious if the cops harass you for riding those? I know they’re cracking down hard and some people are getting them insured at crazy rate’s… like $2500/yr!! That’s a sick wrap on that Segway btw
Preciate the vid bro I found an adapter I just googled it but I’d love to see if it’s the same your using and compare pricing and whatnot. Plus I know yours works for sure so I’d rather buy the one you got tbh lol
I'm sorry because I know that this is an old post but do you have an updated link/alternative option? I tried clicking the link but it's saying that the URL doesn't exist?
Thats funny I just seen Mr. centraldriver drop this video with the same link for the connector although he connected his in a different order... which I think seems better to connect the plug into the charger then into the bike last.... he didn't hit that cut off switch tho he mentioned you should unplug the battery from the bike but he doesnt.
Why not just go to any coffee shop.. fast food, public libary.. gas station... literally anywhere and charge your battery there... this is useless it doesnt even increase the charge time.. and it costs money to boot for the charge + attachment cable
lol SurRon chargers aren’t 240V. You’re using a Segway x260 charger on a SurRon. So this video is misleading. Also FYI the chargers need to be powered on before you connect to the battery.
notice how i said you need a charger thats compatible and up to 240 volts. So maybe you should watch the full video. And i also stated that the way i plug it in is the way ive learned and have been told to do. Maybe you should watch the video before commenting
@@Scrawny_Donny Technically the Segway is not a suron with Segway stickers. There's a difference between the two aside from the "stickers" lol. Paint finish or rebranding is the least. The Segway has user app control software and in order to do that there has to be a modification in the circuits. And if there's modifications to the circuit then very well you have added electronic components.... And regarding the charger if there's a difference of the amp and voltage output I'd stick to what the manufacturer specified. But your life and bike so do whatever but just don't mislead other
@@automotivedefenz2195 i clearly stated in the video to make sure your changer is compatible with the adapter. I said this because this adapter is not made specifically for segways. It clearly says on the website its for ebikes, eboards, e shooters etc.
So I bought one of the adapters to plug into one of the car charging stations. However, I don't have a Surron battery charger that accepts 220v. Do you think if I bought a 220 to 110 converter I could use it with the charging adapter and be able to use the standard 110 charger?
Why don't the public create something like this but for electric bicycles the kind we charge at home in the wall or someplace I'll for sure pay to plug it in and charge it 🤔.
Theres a small amount of power still left in the bike after shutting breaker off. Once you turn the key on and drain the battery, it wont have the power to show the battery levels for a second time!
I've used EVSE chargers on my Sur Ron for two years. I purchased an EU charger which is smaller than the SR USA charger and uses 240v current. I bought my J1772 plug from TucsonEV and added three pigtails so that if I ride with others we can all share one EVSE J plug and charge. I also charge my Sur Ron with solar when I'm in the desert camping. Also I don't charge any differently than I do at home. Plug the J plug into the charger, plug the charger into the battery and then the female j plug into the ChargePoint or other EVSE station. Easy. Takes the same amount of time to charge as it does at home. 240v does NOT charge your bike faster than 110v.
hey Mark! this is awesome! so you haven't had any problems with your battery charging off a 220 jplug? If so, i would love to know what your set up is for that. Mahalo!
I’ve charged up at my public library. I didn’t bother to ask just plugged it up
That’s GANGSTER!

I’m also 6’2” 270 lbs on an ERide Pro ss looks normal on videos. Don’t worry and just have fun
This doesn't work in Europe? Is there type 2 22kw adapter for European plug?

How long do you normally charge for? How much does it charge up in that time?
Try to do a city to city long distance video only using the fast charging stations

Is there a uk plug to ev ????
Good to know thank you for this video👍
Can you use that for the Rad Power bike??????
Same concept, yes
Don't need to shut the breaker off just charge as you would at home..Its just like plugging your charger into the wall at home..No sparks ever.

How long did it take to charge

Expensive per kilowatt 10x cost of here in Thailand. Wow inflation there is bad..
Here I use solar now so free charging after installation. 2 kWh on the grid cost 25c
upfront cost of those solar panels?

How much does it cost to do a full battery ?
29c per kw…. So depends on how many kw your battery is. 6kw battery? 6 x 29c…
What wheel size and tires.
you could just go to any outlet no?
How much time need to charge full and how much watt have?
