that is insanely high. i would be nervous as hell going up to the top of that elevator. being the helicopter is not so bad for whatever reason. that is one awesome tower.

2717 ft (829m) is absolutely statospheric. We will see in June during Cityscape Jeddah if the Kingdom Tower will be announced, which was last reported to be 1100m or 3608 ft.

they are flying at an altitude of like 1k, look at how small the other skyscrapers look and then the BK comes into focus and it is almost touching the heli, it gives it crazy perspective.
it's insane how it dwarfs everything around it, there's some very tall buildings in dubai besides this

Yeah I think so. It is based off some tower they were supposed to build in Australia. It looks really cool.

@MacGyver920 NYC is pretty cool, especially with the new WTC construction under way, but I don't think there's a city in the world that's more unique than Dubai. It redefines the meaning of a "desert oasis".

@passingbynight No, you would not pass out. G-Force, as you call it, is basically a centripetal force caused by curved movement. It can cause you to pass out by pulling a lot of blood out of your brain and into your lower body (as is the case with fighter pilots).
But falling does not cause a "g-force".
One can only imagine the cojones it took to be working at the very top of that thing doing the final touches.

strangely, I had a dream in which I was on the top floor of this behemoth, trying to walk while the wind was whipping the building +/- 3 m in lateral direction. I have no idea how much the wind actually affects this building, but if is anything similar to what I dreamed, I'd NEVER go up in it...

@mccarthy155 umm... they're in the desert, good luck seeing that happen.
@Jerraldough You can't see the curve. Lots of false rumours regarding the curvature. If you can't see the curve from a helicopter OR an aircraft, how will you be able to see it from an 800+m tower.

@KONGRES47 There are some amazing buildings (thanks to all the hired american engineers), but the murky water, dusty haze, and the sand everywhere makes the place look depressing.

@georgebushisaknob dude this was a year ago now there are loads of greens everywhere all the buildings are complete but they are still expanding, you know why this is because the have money coming out of every bit of their country! if you had the amount dubai has what would you do? and i would know that it is all complete around the burj khalifa is that i live in dubai! :D
