Very beautiful, could be great to send the image to After effect and make it an animation

Can you do a part 2 to this, using a person of color? I tried following your tutorial, but darker skin tones seem to present a new set of challenges. Thanks!

@gabg9876 is there a specific issue you’re facing? I replicated the technique with a darker skinned person and it turned out well.

@@hoitpham Maybe it's my technique that is at fault or the photo I've selected. I'm finding that if the person has darker skin tones and the lighting presents facial shadows, it is hard to find the edges for outline detection. Instead, I get big splotches of black.

Is ill paint available in 16 bit? Or the filter gallery in 16 bit?

@drwatsonismine Oil Paint should work with 16 bits per channel images. If it doesn't work for you, try enabling your graphics processor: Photoshop Settings (or if on a PC, Preferences) > Performance > check the box next to "Use Graphics Processor"
For Filter Gallery, the image should be 8 bits per channel image and in RGB colour mode. To change the bit depth of an image, go to Image > Mode > 8 bits per channel. To change the colour mode, go to Image > Mode > RGB Color
