@@janky477 If it was something small like a 2 day early access you'd be right. But you aren't in this case. 2 weeks of early access isn't going to leave standard edition players laughing. It will leave them fuming as the whole freaking game is spoiled well before they have any chance to play it.

I pre ordered the game not for early access but because I already know I'm going to play the game because I've played every single one and enjoyed them all. And because I wanted every single piece of content so why would I play a quarter of the game and then wait two weeks to play the rest of it I'ma wait until the 29th anyway

Honestly, AJ brought forward a good point. This whole $30 USD extra to play the game(Life is Strange) 2 weeks early can backfire on them since it's a singleplayer. People could easily just prefer to watch someone play through the game in those two weeks and end up not buying the game because of it. I know I would have if I was interested in this game (since I wouldn't pay the extra 30 USD).
I don't think they care. They are testing waters with a less known title to avoid the backlash if it goes terribly wrong.

This is why gamers tell you to stop giving into these companies. It ALWAYS gets worse. They want to test how reckless their playerbase is when it comes to their money. They count on you saying things like "I do what I want with my money" as a form of rebellion so things can get worse overall. Have to smarten up people, you're causing more harm.
People will be people and unfortunately they'll buy it regardless. How many times have people banged on the "Let's not pre-order" drum and yet there are still people who pre-order? It's not going to change because most people don't really care, and that's what companies are counting on.

I'm a huge Life Is Strange fan. But this may be the first I miss. First of all, because if i get the story spoiled before the game is out, I'll no longer care about buying it. I don't pre order games, so if it's spoiled, i save the money. Also, they said Max's story is done. And then they bring her back because they want the fans of the original to be hocked. Dirty move. Very much not appreciated

But returning Max is a good thing. And the original creators have backed an adult Max.
I mean for Ahri skin I read an intreasting tid bit somewhere. That the community for the most part as protest is picking her as one of there bans in matches everytime to make sure that hardly anyone can use or see the 500 dollar skin.

... Life is Strange has a new game? WHY?! The story was done! Aw, what a waste of money no less 2 weeks of early access if you pay 80 dollars... for a movie. WOW.
Two week early access is bad enough. But then I remembered that this is a game series that has different episodes released at later dates. Just checked and you get the early access for the 1st and 2nd episode. So either way you look at it, no one is really getting what they want.
I always just wait until every episode is out to play games like these. I never got why they did the episodic thing

Start the night with Hunter Reckoning, get whooped and never get past the 3rd stage then jump to Fighting Force for the pallet cleanser, then q long ass turn on Morrowind when everyone fell asleep.

What I dont understand is that life is strange is similar to the people who made the walking dead story game. One of the reasons why the company that made that game close down was because people would prefer watching the twitch streamers play and see the story, therefore there wasnt any incentive for people to buy the game. If you do it 2 WEEKS earlier and people spoil it and do playthroughs, wouldn't that incentivize more people to just watch the game instead of buying it? especially if that streamer finishes it before the 2weeks.
I'd love it if all endings on the two week early version was just different versions of Rick Astley singing soulfully at the camera, but I doubt it's going to happen.

I’m not defending it despite how it may sound. But Life is Strange used to release episodes monthly or bi monthly in the case of Life is Strange 2 and it was in Life is Strange 3(True Colors) where they just released the full game at once.
This 2 weeks early access is only for the first 2 episodes. (There’ll be 5) Not the full game. So for this case it’s not that bad in that context.
What I’m afraid of are AAA publishers doing this for AAA games. Pay 150$ and get 2 weeks early access for 40-50% of the main game.

I still feel Shadow of the Erdtree should get a full review, but, who knows, maybe after playing it they'll have a change of heart.
I think they don't want to give DLC the same treatment as a full game for several reasons, but who knows, if there's enough content there to justify it - why not? (I personally don't think Erdtree DLC will have that much new/different content).

It's likely to be a very good expansion of a very good game, and I'd assume the verdict will be " if you liked Elden Ring and want more, well, here it is at X price" - but unless it has, I dunno, base building, capturing enemies for use in your base or something, or a surprise FPS mode, then it won't really make much of a difference - other than, hopefully, joining Witcher 3 DLC as stuff you can point to and say "*this* is how you make and price DLC, gaming industry"
The Life Is Strange 2 week early access is even worse when you read that it's only for the first 2 episodes. You don't get the final episode until the game launches. So you pay more and don't get the full game.
The last Life is strange colorblind was beyond crap.
"Early access" is a term used for games that published despite being not quite finished yet ;-) I guess, testers of Life is Strange are paid literally less than 0.

Life is strange 1 is my favorite game. If this gets spoiled for me within the 2 weeks, I wont buy it, and I wont be changing my internet behaviour because of it either.
This deluxe early access is getting wild : usually it means letting rich stupid people be the late beta-testers, now with this one you don't even need to buy the game, just watch a let's play on youtube even before the game "normal edition" gets released... or even a passing mention of the game will be nuked by the algorithm during the 2 weeks

The gaming industry is attacking streamers with early releases on story games. You either get spoiled or pay. Streamers either pay or get the game from. Most times they make the money back anyways.

Hey guys I've noticed on this episode as well as previous ones that there's a noise that keeps popping up quite often and to be honest without headphones it would'nt be noticeable but when it is it takes from the enjoyment of the show a little bit (for me atleast). The sound is probably coming from the headsets.. it's a plasticy noise, sounds like plastic parts grazing against each other. Just thought I should let you guys know. Love the show though, keep em coming.

Alex mentioned that some people are saying riot's fighting game "looks good", well most ppl saying that just look at the visuals and are riot fanboys doing their usual fanboying. Or they are pros/content creators just doing the usual thing of latching onto a new thing and hyping it up as they want to be "first" and popular in it.
After the release hype and marketing dies down, the game is going to have A LOT of things going against it in forming an audience - league players are not going to play a fighting game, tag team is a niche of a niche genre, tag team with randos is not going to work, the game is too simple for hardcore FGC but also too complex to casuals, runterra IP has no value in the FGC especially when the big hitters like SF, Tekken, etc latest games are really good, it's taken soooo long for the game to release that the marquee feature of their rollback netcode is now a common feature in fighting games.
so ya, it "looks good" maybe in terms of visuals, but boy is the game has a lot going against it.
Recently been jamming Cat Quest and loved 1 and so far half way through 2 and even that's a great time. I thought they were silly they have great rpg elements in them.
