The entire museum collection including all small arms and vehicles will be moved to Fort Belvior, Va. The Anzio Annie gun in fact was dissassembled in late fall of 2010. I was a civilian firefighter assigned to the US Army Fire Dept at APG for 7 years, but still have many friends there on the FD and I keep up on the gossip. And I enjoyed your video of the drive from Philly as I did that same exact drive from Philly every other day for 7 years (we worked 24 hour shifts.)

The gun at about 1:00 is a German gun. There was one similar, or just like it for years by the Allegheny river part in Tarentum, PA, but sometime after the first Gulf War, the local council sold it to a scrap dealer and, substituted an M 60 tank.
I remember that the gun had the end of it's barrel broken off in a weird zig zag pattern. Some old timer said that that happened to barrels that were fired a long time.

@gblpst81 LOL, thanks, I am in Reno now at the Gun Show that's this weekend, a bud and myself hit up the show the first day, looking for AR parts as always and a Mauser or two if I see one.

@kiwitedferny Hi Ted, well they are moving the small arms museum somewhere else, but the tanks and field guns were there for viewing, some stuff was already removed little by little but the vast majority is still there. So you didn't get to see any of it at all? Was it a holiday, that is the only other day it would be closed. Well I have tons of stills, perhaps a music video here, but either way I'll see to it that you get a copy eitherway, are you home now or in Hawaii?

@Yardo1075 Ifact speaking of Anzio Annie, I bought a 1/35th scale model of it, when it's all said and done it will be over 3' long when completed, will be really neat. There's another railway gun I wish to buy Dora, that's even bigger, I forget the scale, but it has 1700 parts, holy smokes, will take me probably six months to build, LOL.
Thanks for the information, appreciate it, I'll share a video when I get Anzio Annie built, that trip to Aberdeen inspired me to build more armor models.

A little air for the tires and paint here and there would work wonders ...

@Yardo1075 So what about the armor with respect to moving it all, did they bring in a bunch of DODX flat cars and transport them by rail to the new location by rail? Or, was everything moved by low boy truck to the new location? I can see disassembling Anzio Annie because the gauge between the German and American railway equipment is different, that must have been a heck of a move to see. So now when I go back east I know where to find the new location, is it indoors or outdoors for the armor

Hi Frank - how did you get to go into Aberdeen? I was turned away at the gate as they said they were moving the exhibits!
