      2009 is the last year and they were all Platinum models. That is the year to have because of the upgrades. Only year they made any changes to the car.

    • @JS-bg8rq
      @JS-bg8rq 3 месяца назад

      @guessagain9885 can you explain what the Platinum entails? I cannot find any info online that states the differences...

    • @guessagain9885
      @guessagain9885 3 месяца назад +1

      @@JS-bg8rq The Platinum level included specific badges and sill plate with the word Platinum illuminated when the doors are open. The biggest item the Platinum included was the raised hood that previous to 2009 was only available with the XLR "V" model but included on all 2009 models. The front grill had an upgrade style chrome louvers on the Platinum models. Alcantara suede headliner was also included in the Platinum models.

    • @JS-bg8rq
      @JS-bg8rq 3 месяца назад

      @guessagain9885 thanks for the info. I've been in the market for an XLR-V with low miles for a while now... was interested in the 08 but you said an 09 is the year to get in Platinum. How would you rank the 09 Platinum to an earlier V?

    • @guessagain9885
      @guessagain9885 3 месяца назад

      @@JS-bg8rq Like I said, the 09' is the year to have. The styling changes, chrome vents behind the front wheels, new fog lights, updated exhaust outlets are all changes that really made this car pop even more than the previous years. The earlier years are still very nice but they just don't have the "finished" look of the 09 no matter if it's a V or not.

    So can you describe the parking sensor location again? I do like how the tail lights go along the body of the car. Plus the 320 horse powers is a lot of powers for a little car. I did notice a little wear on one button though. The white lettering on the dials is a great touch, don't see that to often. It's also nice that the radio comes with a volume knob that's nice to have. Great vid overall. Are you in a relationship with the owner of the dealership by chance? it is a nightmare. my friend works on a maintains a local judges vintage cars and he had one of these and they had to special order a radiator because they dont have them in stock anymore and it was like 1,200 bucks. these are beautiful cars and highly underrated.. its a shame though because just when GM finally got the north star motor just right they cancelled it.. but if you go on line these cars are holding their value quite well.. you would think that you could pick a fairly decent one for 10/15k but their up into the 30k range on nice ones.. but ive always been a big fan of them.. but i dont think i would ever own one just for the simple fact that parts are not cheap and made readily available..

I love the straight lines on it kinda reminds me of the Cadillac elr with its straight angular lines... I feel like this was such a huge step up for Cadillac even though they didn't sell alot it showed what Cadillac was capable of and that they were trying to shed their senior citizen label.. and after this was the V series that completely changed the game for Cadillac.. in my opinion the V series saved Cadillac from getting cut.. as crazy as that seems because of how synonymous Cadillac is with GM..

Cadillac is nearly as strong on acceleration but much much better made and laid out. Quieter also but at all speeds, firm but not harsh. Great road feel, solid in turns and heavy stops. its a shame it was only made 4 yrs in the V configuration, and priced waaay too high. Ive never had a moments problem with it, recently replaced battery and brake pads. 20 mpg in town 31 on the highway. Mine now has 87k miles but the way its geared ill bet its good for 400k miles

I think one of the problems was the head bolts were too small and kept blowing heads, if I remember correctly.. but supposedly GM put longer head bolts and fixed the problem.. and then cancelled the engine lmaoooo.. it's kinda like the Fiero the first few years they were ugly and way underpowered and by the last 2 years they looked great with a little more power only to be cancelled the next year lol🙄🙄
