I LOVE this parade. I remember seeing it and loving it so much. I loved the music, the fiber optics, the step-dancing... I feel 5 years old again watching this video.
This was actually really good. I've only heard negative things but I think it was over sensationalized although there are flaws in the show it still has tremendous technology even by today's standards
Love your disney parade videos, I'm a big fan of Disney parades. I do have to say Light Magic had the best muisc and just the other day I was thinking if light magic was a big succes do you think it would still be here today 20 years later.
I wonder this inspired the Disney Fairies franchise. I mean, there were a lot of fairies that are friends to Tinkerbell in Light Magic and even the latter with the direct to video movies, the Celtic inspired soundtrack…..OMG The Mouse predicted the future!!!
@@cartarsaucetheatre9363 But that's not all, when Tink makes the pixie dust show it’s so reminiscent of Lyria’s storytelling scene in Lost Treasure-I can’t believe they just came up with that on their own, it must have been inspired by this show, right?
L o n g e s t opening ever.....I mean, I get it. You don't just drop in massive floats in a matter of seconds, even by today's standards. But damn. Were there any behind the scenes of the production of this parade? Specifically interested in the retrofitting of the fiber optics into the building facades!
This is what happens when you try to follow the trend and not set them yourself. Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance was huge at this time. Instead of re-imagining the MSEP, they tried to make their own version of Flatley's popular show mixed with the MSEP. Epic failure.
I know it’s not the entertainers’ fault. A job doing what you love is one of the greatest things to have if you hafta work- but I wouldn’t be able to follow through with this. It’s just a messsss.
I am astounded every time I watch Light Magic videos--at how absolutely awful this "streetacular" was. Absolutely every part of it is terrible. The astonishing thing is not that it was canceled early; the astonishing things are that it every made it off the drawing board and then lasted even a few months. Far and away the worst Disneyland nighttime extravaganza ever, bar none. (BTW, this might be the best of all the videos out there--Quasimodo jigging to Step In Time with grotesque pixies and Clarabelle in the middle of the night couldn't illustrate my point any better.)
I remember seeing this show at some point in 1997, it was so good, even though I was kind of young and didn’t really understand it, I’m sure with today’s technology it would be better

A revisit to this concept would be great for a Pixie Hollow Parade
I know everyone likes to rag on Light Magic, but you can tell there was a lot of heart put into it's concept and it's music.
That music still holds up.
@@cartarsaucetheatre9363 Indeed it does, have the complete show audio all on my phone. It's pure beauty
Absolutely!
Look as a fan of Riverdance I was enthralled, even at 6 years old when I saw the world premiere
I still remember seeing this live as a kid and being so confused LOL

We probably gotten to see Princess Anna in her night dress/bed head if it Light Magic was still playing today!
22:54 It's Me! I heard you Sam.
The pixie?
Wow. Today I learned thus existed. I had no idea this parade/show happened in 1997. Apparently, my family didn’t see it.
The fairies 🧚🏼♂️ faces terrified me when I was young .
The following year, we had both DisneyQuest and La Nouba.
When Disneyland smoked too much mushrooms.
I wonder what happened to the floats
The music is so nice
The music is absolutely incredible.
It's Bruce Healy it's the same guy who did the music for Fantasmic and SpectroMagic he's a legend

Pretty sure it planted the seeds for Fairies. It was ahead of it’s time with that popularity

I remember seeing this as a child and hating it. River dancing pixies. Oof. It didn't even compare to its predecessor.

@@WDI2008 Thanks!
The exit is not short, either. Egads.
So where did the characters come out of?
Good question. They came from the parade gate in Town Square, gate by the lockers, and the gate by first aid.

Did anyone notice that major portions of the castle are white? Perhaps they should bring back that color scheme.
I loveeeeeee the show!!!

I am to sober to watch this.
Awful parade, Awesome soundtrack.
It's not even a parade, it's a street show.

The music is amazing and the floats are pretty neat. When I was a kid I loved this show but I can see its faults as an adult.
This show was good

Awful!!!!!! lol only good segment was the MSEP dance part lol
Omg this looks so stupid.
I would think this would just upset small children…cause them to cry. Lol
You are absolutely right. It is exceptionally terrible.
This is some of the cheesiest, most uninspiring music they have ever made. Migraine inducing.
Just say you’re old and white 😂
