-Adam's story about that day is loosely based on my grandfather's story that day. My grandpa was in the Pentagon when it was hit, thankfully, he was unharmed and got home safely. But I was really close to losing a family member that day. I was very hesitant about adding that, but I wanted to tell my grandpa's story so I added it. Adam is very caring of his patients, both kids and adults. His story is a rough one, but I want his story to be told and he's based on one of my heroes, who is my grandfather. My grandfather cares about people and cares deeply about kids. -Adam running to his car is also based on my actual father's actions. When my mom told him she was pregnant with me, he ran to his car and drove to an empty parking lot at night and sat in his car, crying and wondering what he was going to do. He was terrified about becoming a father and was praying to God, begging for him to help them. He knew he and Mom's lives were about to change, he was horrified about the future, but thankfully, things worked out well in the end. I was born on May 31, 2004. That day changed their lives and they vowed to raise me the best they could. I am incredibly happy with what they've done for me. I love them so much, and want to one day repay them for all the hard work they have done. My Mama and Dad are two of the best folks in my life, and I am forever grateful they're in my life. They work hard for me and my little brother, and I want to do my best to repay them.

Another beautiful installment of Adam's story! This was a chapter I was wondering would happen on this story so I was excited when you announced it was coming. This made me emotional actually. It is a big moment one's life and it does come with all the emotions upon the dicovery with the fear and panic of what will you expect as a first time parent and also the joy and excitement that your little one is coming. I think you did a lovely job with executing both sides of the emotional scale. You gave Adam such depth diving into his heart of him questioning if he will be a good dad to promising Ophelia that he is going to stay by herself all the way and do his very best for this baby. The fact that you integrated moments from your own family makes this more personal and more true-to-life. I thought was a beautiful chapter and the beginning of the Letterman children! Great job Nyx! Also curious, but you don't have to answer: will there be a wedding chapter for Adam and Ophelia or no? Good either way. :)

I relate so much with the hating when bad things happen to children, I’m working on eventually studying to become a forensic specialist and I will be going to college next year and with almost everything I’ve become numb to reacting but for especially stuff with children I can’t I have definitely gotten better, but it still get me every time

There's a difference between one who runs out to take a moment to process and one who runs out to escape their responsibility. Adam is NOT someone who avoids responsibility when he knows he needs to accept said responsibility.
