What types of stands are u using for your toms? I don’t like the way my double stand keeps the toms too close to my snare. DW sounds great but the set up is weird for me

dw does not put the drum in a protective bag or felt wrap, before it is put in the box for ship??...even cheap drums come in some kind of plastic bag, felt covering before putting in ship carton....and I think dw drums are awesome....
I believe they do. I don't know why mine weren't. My drums weren't shipped directly to me through DW they went to a dealer and then me so maybe they opened them first? Who knows lol
@@EliPenderDrums No plastic bags around my new Abalone kit either.
If the box you put the drum in is tight enough, meaning it cannot move in the box at all, then it's protected. They use a double box method like Gretsch uses. When the drum starts shifting in the box is when you potentially have issues.

beautiful set. i am also a proud owner of a DW collector's. 8/5, 10/8, 12/8, 13/9, 14/14, 16/16, 22/14. black nickel over brass snare. 14/6.5. black satin with nice clue on the bass hoops. can't wait to hear yours. :)

DW Crafts some beautiful drums but their drums all sound the same unless it’s a Romanian River Oak kit. I wanted a kit of those drums and was willing to pay their premium price but I couldn’t purchase the sizes and depths I wanted so I didn’t buy them.
Ive played many and they sound differnet, it depends how they are tuned. Most DW vendors will let you customize your sizes, that's what I did with this kit

Maple/Mahogany. Mahogany inner and outer and maple in the middle. Im pretty sure they are VLT but ill have to check

they just put the drums in the box??...no bag,foam,protection from scratches around each drum??......wow...at that price point???..that's horrible....

I dont know why you feel the need to leave negative comments towards this company, Ive heard nothing but good things from them and that has been my experience. I love my DW kit, ive never played a kit ive liked more. John Goode travels to different places to make limit edition kits with exotic woods, i think that’s pretty cool, those are obviously going to cost an arm and a leg. I got a good deal on my kit, especially for getting it custom made for me, it wasn’t overpriced whatsoever.

Disagree. Bought this kit 4 years ago and still love it more than any other kit I've played :)
DW is a overpriced drums nothings so special besides the price,any $2k drum set has the same sound quality,but your a fan and have the $$$ why not!!!!
And all of this only costs 12.7 Million to get hahahahahahaha In all seriousness, Probably about 10-15 grand depending on how much the Collector's was.
bryan harris mine was 3 grand
DW Exotic can run you close to $8-9K, but DW Collectors finishply 4pcs runs around $3500 plus sales tax where I live. It's not cheap, but not $10K. DW Finishply is a great buy if you want a gigging kit but a specific shell recipe.
