Looks great. Thanks for sharing. Keep vids like this coming. It takes some of the anxiety out of it for those of us who are on the fence on doing these projects.
Love the content and great video. I have a 2018 Audi RS3 saloon myself and am going to replace the pedal shifters after seeing your installation and think the seat back really set the interior off. Details make all the difference. 👌👌
Hi, Out of interest do you know if the upholster layed a layer of foam backing before attaching the alcantara or was the alcantara adhered direct to the plastic seat back ?
@@frax77 That is strange. You must have it in neutral. I will find out when my steering wheel arrives. I think my car is the same year as yours (2017).
Great vid, when you showed us the seat back, you didnt mention the clips, just the hooks. So do you need to pop off clips then push it up, or just push it up to release ?
Thank you. You'll need to pop off the clips first (pull towards the back of the car) and then you will be able lift the seat back upwards off the hooks. Hope that helps. 😊
Excellent video very helpful and informative, keep them coming, how did the trimmers make sure the holes that were left by the plastic clips were not visible with the finished look please?
Thanks 🙏. The holes are actually small enough so the fabric sits over them without any evidence. We spoke about filling the holes but we thought we'd try without first...ended up working fine. 😊
EXCELLENT video and those seatbacks are beautiful! That is the way that Audi should have sent that car to you anyway. Where did you get the shift paddles. I would like to do that in my 2016 RS7?
Thanks Mohamad. Wheel specs are: BC Forged RZ22, Dark Brushed Black F: 19 x 9.5 ET42 (clear front brakes) R: 19 x 9.5 ET45 (deep concave) Running 255/30R19 Nitto Invo
Great video...Is you car keyless ignition? If it is then how do you move the steering wheel around when the battery is disconnected without engaging the steering lock?
Great question Dan. Yes my car is keyless, and as long as you disconnect the battery whilst the steering lock is not engaged, then the steering wheel will move freely....just as you can see in the video. 😊👍
@@frax77 great thanks. I looked in the audi repair manual and it says to remove the battery negative cable after the ignition is turned on and I wondered if it was because of the steering lock...obviously not.
You can get in touch via IG (@ds_performanceparts), or FB (@DSperfmnce), or email them - ds-performanceparts@gmx.de I don't think they have a website, but Dion is super helpful and responsive.
hi the video is old but something happened to me when i tried to take the pedals off, the cover came off and the white plastic fell off how can i put it on can you help me or do i have to remove the steering wheel
Thanks mate. Unfortunately I don't sorry. Have you tried asking a few of the FB car groups...maybe some of the older retro car groups....they'd probably use trimmers more frequently. 👍
Those subtle touches just really complete the look , lovely car
Great tutorial video, thanks for posting. Will order some paddles now👍

Appreciate the support 🙏 Definitely more vids coming soon 😉
Yeah, the Christmas tree on the dash is a little disconcerting, but you just drive and everything just goes away after a few minutes! Good job Alex.
Gave me few extra grey hairs 😣😆
Just get vagcom and clear them anyway
They look great mate 👍🏼👍🏼

Thanks mate, and good luck with your install 👍
Thanks for sharing, will definitely leave this to a professional. I’ll likely destroy my interior trying to do this 😂
very informative vid Dude!! i’ll be changing my RS3 paddles quick & easy now! cheers
Hi,
Out of interest do you know if the upholster layed a layer of foam backing before attaching the alcantara or was the alcantara adhered direct to the plastic seat back ?
There is no foam backing, it was layed/glued directly on to the seat back.
11:35 Before you disconnect the battery, did you have to do something first so that the steering wheel won't lock when you rotate it?
No, my steering wheel didn't lock. I know it does with some people but I'm not sure what why. 😊

Thanks 🙏🙏🙏 You can get the paddles from DS Performance Parts. Their insta details are in the description.... just send them a msg... very helpful. 😊
Where did you get the forged carbon fiber interior trim pieces?
Hah, they are actually wrapped in a forged carbon printed vinyl. It's a bit of stop gap whilst I decide what I want to do with those interior pieces.
Good spotting by the way! 😁
I tried getting the springs on my B9 SQ5 but it was impossible. Insane how hard it was. Had to stop and accept defeat lol.
Never give up bro! 😁
Amazing…. Btw What is your rims and tyres size? are they flush? Wanna install same for mine
Thanks Mohamad.

255 rear and front? Hope to see how flush they look …Thank you
Yep, same tyre size front and back, otherwise the Haldex gets a bit upset (needs to be same rolling diameter)
So you just stop and turn off the engine and start the car back, those light were gone?
Yep, exactly. 😊
Nice Video, geetings from munich
Thank you 🙏 I miss Munich, was there a couple of years ago and once we can travel again I will be back. I'm originally from Stuttgart 😁👍
Would the paddles fit on an S3 too?
If you have the newer steering wheel type then yes. Best bet is to msg Dion at DS_Performance parts to make 100% sure. 👍

I’ve seen people just get out the pins and replacing the shifters without removing the steering wheel. I guess that wasn’t an option here?
Yer, not possible with these. The pins are located in an area covered by the steering wheel plastics.
Link for the paddle shifters?

How much are they?
@@LP-dv6qr it depends where they need to ship to. I paid around $265 euros.

The car looks absolute mint! Quick question, do you know any motor trimmers that are reputable in Sydney? Cheers!
