Again, another highly useful video in terms of showing me the lay of the land before trying it out myself. Can I ask, what happens if you fluff the takeoff? (not that it ever happens to me...) Do you miss your turn and have to paddle in and back around again?
Thanks man..If you miss the wave completely you get another try but you will be a little farther in so the wave will be more critical so it is advised to go a little more away from the wall..If you takeoff and wipeout you try to stay close to the wall and catch the next whitewater in a bit then paddle to the channel..If you try to paddle straight across you may get in the way of the surfer behind you and get run over
@middleagedshred I just got back from my first session. Ego took a bit of a bruising tbh. I'm not half as fit as I thought I was. A lot more padding involved than I thought. The wave is such good quality though.
@@Delamthedestroyer Yea its full on paddling..I knew what to expect from the firs ttime I went to bristol..peak of summer heat and I only had a 6.5mm wetsuit..i,ve trained for it ever since..)
Which setting would you recommend? I need to decide between barrels and turns. I don't expect to get barrelled but want a decent wave with goid shoulder and not a ridiculously hard take off
all of the takeoffs didnt seem too bad but I was on a 7'6 so was getting in early and a little away from the wall..I think barrels and manouvres are the best settings
@@tube2312 i know..thats a nitemare for me..at bristol I found it to be the best wave closest to a normal wave..Scotlands equivalent shud be even better
I,m not sure, but i,m getting the impression you think the water looks disgusting..XD..We are assured that it,s "potable" and it,s certainly cleaner than the North sea after heavy rain..I wore a 5mm hooded wetsuit, gloves and boots and was fine, not cold and not too hot..wouldnt go any less than that..other people there didnt have gloves but their hands looked very purple and slightly swolen..)
Bet you were knackered. Loads of quality pop ups and so close to being barrelled. Well done bud
Thanks man..on the closest one the camera angle was too low to see the lip
Duuude, quality save on that flying board, haha, ninja skills kicked in
Haha.it,s all in the reflexes..)
Nice Wompa, some clean rides there.
Thanks man..I played it safe and stuck with trusty Lazarus..)

How many ft would you say the setting was?
They call it shoulder to head high
@ sweet! Sick video :)
@@Surfsupnorth I think surfline would mabey call it 4-6 foot
No barrels sighted. I'd ask for me money back
Lool..it always looks farther away on a go pro..XD
