How can I start covering songs this way as well? I've been playing for 2 years and I can play only with sheets. I want to be able to play songs I like which are not so common but don't know how to approach ear training. Please advices!!!
I had to do a lot of guessing and checking. I would play a part of a song over and over and over again while hitting different notes until I found the right one. I started noticing some similarities between chord progressions as I practiced more. Biggest piece of advice I'd give is to be patient, practice over and over again, and just to have fun playing the piano!
