+Real Men Real Style Does you book cover Split-toes and Apron toes those confuse me the most.
+NicholasToras01 Those are covered a little bit in the eBook! www.realmenrealstyle.com/shoe-guide-free-ebook/
Antonio i have a problem, i love those dress shoes you've mencioned but for me those are expensive, i could pay 100 dlls max. Any solution?
+Brian Gonzalez Visit your local consignment store, Thrift store, Second hand store you will be surprised what you find there for 1/4 of the original price. You will have to be a bit open minded though.
johnston and murphy boot. $140 not expensive to most but as a student, it was alot. and I use it when the snow calls for it
This guy could probably sell me a used car for twice the price of a new one and still make me think its a good deal.
xxzodiacxx01 alpha m is better. they are both great though
The key to a great salesman is selling great products....lol
I own 3 pairs of Church's shoes United Kingdom, First pair were a pair of two tone brogues with a white canvas and I wear them all the time, my other pair are brogue boots which I'm starting to now wear as it's getting into season and I also own a pair of black oxfords all ranging between £245-£350, I've only just turned 19 but I value shoes very greatly as I see the potential of wear in the future and I can't wait to look back on them when I'm older!
I wear double monk straps dual tone (brown and tan) and I simply love them. I also wear them with black trousers. They are so versatile !!!
Most expensive shoes I own are boots I wear everyday - $125. The dress shoes I own are probably (I forgot) around $30 because I figured in the regularity that I would wear them and the significance of their contribution to those given events. The more money I make and the older I get, the more I consider and appreciate the quality of footwear i own which is why* I enjoy your channel. Thanks for the informative info. Always insightful and interesting!
Very informative Antonio. Just starting to build my wardrobe. You and Aaron from Alpha M have been my most useful resources. Thanks for the free ebook. Much appreciated.
Most expensive shoes I have are a pair of Cole Haans.
Check out Style OG too.
And Sartorial Talks
Just checked out your channel Devrhoid and I like your style. I too am just starting to build my wardrobe
$398 Allen Edmond oxblood loafers. I wear them all the time. Great shoes!
I bought a pair of Johnson and Murphy burgundy Oxfords at a thrift store for $9.99. After waxing and buffing I got a nice mirror shine. They look great and are a really great fit. No creases or wear marks.
My first pair is an oxblood double monks, second pair is a pair of black oxfords with closed lacing and a quarter-brogue. Followed by a pair of captain light brown/tan leather boots.
And now I am struggling between a pair of dark brown dress loafers and a pair of black Chelsea since it's fall.
Both of them are around 250 usd and I only have the budget for one pair of really good shoes. I understand the importance of inventing in good shoes but good finance is also what I look for in being a modern gentleman. Thank you Antonio.
I have a pair of ostrich loafers from bally that was handed down to me by my father. He wore them for 20 years, have been resoled and repaired a few times. Shoes are really an investment. Buy good shoes it will probably last a lifetime.
I actually wear my most expensive shoes on a daily, dress code on my school requires complete suit everyday as a uniform. It's great learning from you to be the best dressed.
Thanks Antonio.
I enjoy your videos, and commend you for taking the time to put them together. The editing, research, etc. ..it's work, and much appreciated. I worked in Men's wear for years (during college), and know about these tips...but there are a lot of young men out there that can use them. You may want to consider doing one on pants ; pleaded vs non-pleaded, lenght...cuffs...etc. Thanks.
I can not believe how good this was ! Great great info you just shared.
You are absolutely right with everything you said !
+tattoofun2003 Thank you, sir! :)
I also like that he puts it under eight minutes. Always to the point, eloquent and professional. I've learned lots from him and received many compliments about how I dress.
I have 2 pairs of Allen Edmonds, roughly 350 each, they were hand me downs but fit perfectly
From November through December Allen Edmonds marks down selected models off %50. I wish I knew before I bought my first pair with them. Thursday Boots now sells dress shoes now too.
@joe your so lucky
WHERE IS IT KEPT IN UR HOUSE EXACTLY
Yes, pulled this off well early on. When I was young acquired a nice pair of brown leather dress boots on a charles tyrwitt sale (england, but one of the higher up suit places) When I actually began wearing suits that where not just charcoal grey, advantage of these boots is that they are very plain and just have a zip up the side, so can look formal as well.
+The Abhorsen Agreed!
I recently bought a new pair of brown dress shoes, that'd normally go for $200, but I bought for $60, as they were on end of line clearance.
And I have a set of Chelsea boots, that I wear all the time, as they can easily be both smart-casual and formal.
Close, I wear all my dress shoes in a two week rotation, and my favorite are a pair of Church Diplomats.
I have a 34 year old pair of boots now on their third sole, but the snake skin is starting to look tired regardless of how much I care for them. Hand made back in the Eighties, they're the most comfortable footwear I've ever worn. I look forward to finding a replacement.
420$ Allen Edmonds Long Branch Wingtip Boots. I wear them pretty much everyday in the fall and winter. Super comfortable, well constructed and i love the way they're aging. My only reservation is the sole is soft and wearing out quicker than expected, correctable when it comes it to having them resoled
My most expensive shoes are my two pairs of Allen Edmonds. And they're the most comfortable, and most beautiful shoes I've ever owned! I want a few MORE pairs of Allen Edmonds! They're the BEST!
My personal favorites are the penny loafers and chelsea boots because you can go casual with them. Great video!
+Jones Martins Yes!
Have two pairs of Magnanni's, they hurt like hell at first but look so damn good! Looking into another pair, either double monk strap or suede loafers, or both?
I recently started looking at mens fashion channels, and even though I love Ashley Weston, and every time I want to look for something essential i turn to her, I have to admit that Antonio your channel is the best. Minutes ago I was going to search at what order to buy some shoes and viola, yours was on suggestion below.
Well over 50 pairs. I believe a great outfit needs great shoes. And I enjoy your videos so much! I've learned a lot about improving my style. Thank you!
+Troy Cunningham Very nice! I completely agree :)
Most of my shoes(I have 12 pair) cost between $400-$600. Mostly mixture of AE, Church’s and Loake. A pair of very old JM’s and new pair of Cole Haan double monk straps. I have most dress shoe styles and tend to favor Wingtips. That said, the Cole Haan’s are by far my most comfortable shoe(still full leather top to bottom) and yet they are my cheapest pair. I’m going to have to re-evaluate my shoe buying. I tend to agree with most of your picks but I don’t really consider loafers a dress shoe. I favor oxfords like whole cuts, cap toe, wing tips but even a Derby with some nice brogue work can fit the bill. The monk straps are about as informal as I go.
Church's are pretty nice. I inherited 2 of their loafers from my grandfather.
$300 cycling shoes are my most expensive at the moment, always wear and use em too.
You can rock those with a suit.
Brush off the haters.
For me it’s a pair of Allen Edmond walnut Chelsea’s I got for 360 (originally they’re 500). Love the quality and design so I definitely subscribe to the idea that you get what you pay for
great video..as always your points about value and frequency of use are spot on. Thanks for sharing.
+Jim D Love reading all your comments from my videos - thank you for the support!
some dress shoes that says " Vero cuoio" Made in Italy.
costs 💲 350
If you think wearing boots and a suit is ridiculous come to Texas we will show you a few things
I know, right? George Bush wore a suit with cowboy boots to Jenna's wedding. LOVED IT. Have also seen Obama in boots, Reagan too....Jimmy Carter....if they're good enough for Presidents of the United States they're good enough for me.
The most expensive pair of shoes I own are a pair of boots.
Blue_E.G.O. He’s actually from Texas lol he grew up there!
He’s from Texas 😂
Blue_E.G.O. Bahahahaha 🤣🤣🤣
My most expensive pair of shoes are Red Wing Ice Cutter. About 350 €. Love them so much. And Vibram soles are superior on winter.
I'm impressed! im a huge fan of leather shoes. you are the first to ever recommend and include english shoes. I own J&M, Allen Edmonds, etc but my absolute favorite are by Herring.
Church's and Cheney are awsome!
+Jose Aguilar Thanks! Good choice - those are really reliable brands you mentioned.
My most expensive shoes are my yeezys 350😥, need to change up my preferences.
I always thought a purchase like that is unnecessary and wasteful. Why invest in something that isn't even versatile
They're comfy shoes to slip on to run errands. Or to hold on to resell for profit $200--->$700+.
+Tony Montana I would say try brands that make classy style that will last years.
Tony Montana There's much, much cheaper and classier options than spending $200 on sneakers
+Malaquias Alfaro Cheap is not good, classy shoes that are below $200 lack in quality and only last a couple of years.
John Lobb, Darby II. $1500
The most expensive shoes are my Allen Edmonds Dalton cordovans. Great video, as always very thorough and detailed.
+New England Style Consulting Thanks! Appreciate the great comment as always :)
Antonio you do a great job. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Hi Antonio, thanks for the video:Magnanni Cotillas , double monkstrap.
+Juan Carlos Jimenez Great choice! Where did you buy it?
+Real Men Real Style m.shop.nordstrom.com/s/magnanni-cortillas-double-monk-strap-leather-shoe-men/3811896?origin=keywordsearch in brown, thanks for answering 🙋
My most expensive are Thursday barons and i wear them at least two times a week
Great advice and vid, Antonio. I own a pair of black Loake shoes in an oxford style with a toe cap but no broguing. I bought them for somewhere in the region of £200. I've worn them with suits for interviews and a wedding, as well as them being my regular shoe for work every day with trousers, shirt, tie and jumper - for around a year. I don't own another pair of smart shoes, so the vid allowed me to consider all of these styles and characteristics. Thank you!
+Matt Swain That's great! In the video - which pair of shoes got your attention the most?
+Real Men Real Style I think a pair of brogues/wingtips in a brown so I can mix up my current outfits and expand my wardrobe. Deciding which brown is very tricky, though! I do also like the idea of the chukka boots, but I've yet to see an all-round design that I really like.
Church's Ryder III (james bond fan) 600$ and Hugo Boss black leather boots which i use barely everyday 350$. Those hugo boss are the best shoes i've ever had. Thank you for this video :D
Common projects original achilles low $410 but i got them for $310
I say Chelsea Boots FTW!
Wear with a Suit = Yes
Wear with Jeans = Yes
Comfortable, Secure, and Practical - I could probably do anything in these that I could do with tennis shoes
I prefer the ones with zippers rather than the elastic stretchy piece. Have the zipper color/shine match belt buckle and/or watch for accent. Most expensive pair = $130, wear daily.... of course that doesn't include my Tech 8's - $430 when I got em.. but I don't think you can count those :P
Men have such a limited choice of shoes compared to women... at least in the US that's the case. That being said, I've been in Germany for a few months and there is a much better selection here - more variety, better designs, and better prices.
how long can a chelsea boot stand? i'm thinking to invest in i'm a student ,so looking to wear them twice a week maybe? would u recommend me some budget friendly chelsea boots?
@@ahsanjawad714 I have a pair of GEOX Chelsea boot with zipper that I bought since The summer 2014. At some point I was wearing it almost everyday and even now I always wear them when I know I'm gonna be out for long or go on a long/walk adventure in the city, plus they are water proof so I use them for in case of rain/snow. They're still going strong. But I need to buy a new one soon lol
I got them on sales for about $80 to $100 Canadian dollars. This is the best shoes I have ever bought in my life. I'm pretty sure have used up all my money that and paid for it and even made a lot of profit hahah .. I'll recommend it, It's very flexible and versatile
@@ahsanjawad714 since your a student I'll give you my top 3 recommendations from low to high price/quality
1 newrepublic ~100$ if you live in the US but if you live outside the US it's 50$ shipping
2 ardent 115£
3 Thursdayboots 190$ or 199$
Imo go for Thursdayboots since they're Goodyear welted and will literally last years easily if you only wear them twice a week
My first "real" pair was black leather Johnson & Murphy, but I went for a boot due to past issues with my heel coming out of cheap dress shoes so I was gunshy. I shopped everywhere but went with J&M due to the very nice comfort. Others that cost more felt like cardboard inside...
200€ Adidas-runners ; maybe I should buy those silvery shiny ones, too ;-) They'd go great with my pink tie and my green hat! Not to mention my Casio watch and the Windows phone ;-)
+87solarsky Man, perfect combination ;)
87solarsky thank you very much for making my day :)
The Best presentation I have ever seen about shoes.. Great Work Antonio.. Your recommended Shoe Brands aren't available here till now.. I wish I would wear them .
Dear Brother .. Love n Respect from Karachi, Pakistan.
Amazing recommendations.
You actually helped a lot.
My most expensive shoes is my louboutins, cost me $945. Ive only worn it twice, im afraid to wear it.
J. Alexander It? How many shoes do you have, then?
@@tallandhandsome29 not much
I hope you have a Cedar Shoe Tree in them!
@@johnnyblaze2257 yep i have it on all the time
@@jasonf478 Awesome, don’t be afraid to wear them, they have leather soles and can be resoled by a experienced Cobbler.
Any thoughts of Chelsea boots?
Chelsea Boots are not good for me. They add height to people and I'm already 6'4. When I wear boots people think I am only tall because of the boots. This stops women thinking I have a big dick.
Since i am still a highschool student my most expensive shoes are my black sing monk dress shoe, it's only around 60 dollars but i wear it almost every day because i wear it for school . It's already 10 months old but it's still not broken and it's still smells good because the leather it's quite high quality for the price. It's just a glued on sole though.
I bought a pair of Crockett & Jones' "Alex" last September in black calf. These are wholecut shoes that were worn in the James Bond film "Skyfall". They were $700, and they fit like a glove. Yes they are very expensive, but I've already worn them many times (some of these occasions I was standing quite a bit). The last is a perfect slim style without being too narrow, they hold a shine very well, and look really good when wearing either a tux or a suit. Even though I can't afford to do this again for a very long time, I am very pleased with them.
+Real Food For Dudes Sounds awesome! Shoes are arguably the most important investment a man can make in his closet.
$420 Allen Edmonds
$330 Florsheim
The most expensive pair of shoes I own were a pair of bespoke quarter brogue captoes made by Master Yohei Fukuda when I visited The Armoury in NYC for his trunk show priced at $5500. However, my most commonly used dress shoes would be a pair of MTO Saint Crispins from Leatherfoot purchased here in Toronto. A full brogued balmoral boot in a chocolate brown crust leather costing me $2400.
+Sole Sartorialist Very nice!
Interesting you watch this, but you probably folow a lot about shoes.
Totally agree Antonio! Great dress shoes provide great long term value.
As a restaurant manager I need to have slip resistant shoes, I buy shoes for crews, black label. They have a very nice model oxford with capped toe that I always buy. Very comfortable and they last at least a year (which is damn good for restaurant wear). I am looking for new shoes for my personal life, and this is a great tutorial.
Payless, 65.00. Comfortable as hell, stylish and have lasted me for three years. (is that sad?)
Dan R if it works for, there's no problem
The most expensive shoes I own are ASICS running shoes which I got for like $60, lol
red wing work boots $250. but dress shoes are my air force GI blacks. I have had them for almost 20 years and they still look new.
I think I have learned more from your channel than I have from school, Awesome!!!
My most expensive shoes are Bordeaux derbys from bugatti. 100 euro. Not expensive but ok. Im a poor man.
obiwanfisher537 my most expensive shoe i bought one month ago at 60$
not expensive for riches i know
+Abdifatah Muhudin same rate here its a brown oxford, whats yours?
You should make a collab with AlphaM for sure
+Adarsh Shamloll No.
Jarvis Morris But why not
+Eric Sharp I don't think so
+Adarsh Shamloll Two different styles. AlphaM is more modern and progressive, but I still watch both. They're both good in their own ways.
+Adarsh Shamloll He already did stylecon with him
Another home run Antonio. I was just looking into buying some new shoes. Perfectly timed!
+WarThug13 Awesome! Which one are you buying? ::)
+Real Men Real Style Made the mistake of buying bluchers for my first pair, buy I took care of them and they lasted me for 4 years. I'm finally going to get myself a nice pair of balmoral oxfords.
Navy Derby Shoes, Common Projects
my most expensive? air force 1 lows
Just scored a pair of Allen Edmonds Park Avenue Derby Brogues. Kinda stoked about it, too.
just bought my most expensive shoes today, €200 melik double monks in cognac coulor, absolutely love em and got a job interview at the store i bought them at this monday.
the thrift store is a great place to buy expensive shoes without going broke
v bee
Shoes, coats, and other stuff!
Stop telling! That's my secret shopping place.
Same thing goes with suits as well lol
Yeah you can find SOME genuine gems in the thrift store. U just gotta know what to look for.
v bee that’s an oxymoron hahaha
The only shoe I have to wear with a suit is a pair of black wingtips and I'm not spending the money on something that is just a straight plain dress shoe just to wear with a suit. So people are just going to have to deal with seeing me in a suit with wingtips.
Magnanni shoes are so far my favorite. I have 3 pairs and the quality is off the chart. I was contemplating buying Paul Evans though.
I have a lovely pair of brown brogue Dr martens - I can wear them to all but the most formal of situations. They're my most expensive pair, but I've worn them so much since having them for Christmas that they've been worth the extra money
$500aud RM Williams Chelsea boots
My Yves Saint Laurent Chelsea’s - $1200
SUperb video. Very Helpful. Thank s for doing what you do! Cheers
Thank you for another great video. Are there any shoe care products you recommend? If so would love to see a video on shoe care!
I second you on not being a black shoe man! :/
+Mayank Bhattacharya :)
Yes do not buy black at all for top 5.
This guy sounds like an employee trying to sell me some weird product. Talks to fast
I wear Thursday boots alot. Where you live plays a big part of your shoes or boots you wear. I live where the weather is wet alot I also live in the country. This is why I wear boots alot. I know you say dont wear boots with suits but I do and it gives me that old school early 1900s Pinky Blinders look I like. Great video thanks God bless. 👍
Enjoying watching your videos 👏 my most expensive shoes are Salvatore Feragamo $1600. Have another 6 pairs of dress shoes Prada, Giorgio Armani, Cesare Piacotti, Dolce & Gabbana..
200+ pair of red wings that I wear everyday
Please don't say Jordan's are the most expensive shoes you own ppl lol
+Andréas Remis PLANT-BASED VEGAN Hahaha! :)
I bought a pair of full brogue wingtip Oxfords, it are really dapper and beautiful and I'm happy cause finally I will be very different of the crowd cause here in Brazil few people use a paif of Oxfords cause they didn't know these shoes.
I realized that I didn't know much information about shoes because of your video! Thanks u so much! By the way, I love cap toe shoes with my suit! Can u teach us about how to choose and wear glasses?
What's the appeal of loafers? They just look pathetic to me.... They don't exude masculine or feminine qualities. Loafers look similar to how depressed people feel. ...Droopy and incapable
Thomas Rones versatility
Jesus Thomas who hurt you? 😂
Not gonna lie, half of these shoes looks like womens to me...
This are my essential shoes.
Oxfords (a black pair and an oxblood pair)
Italian boots (like cowboy boots, but dressy)
Work boots (black and brown)
Driver mocasins (black and brown)
Nice leather sneakers (dressy ones)
Allen Edmonds.....I have have those, too.
I paid $20.00 at the red white and blue.
Very comfortable, shoe.
Very stylish, as well.
$49 Dockers Gordon Cap-Toe black Oxfords work great for me. They look as good as any $150 dress shoe I've seen and they are also more comfortable.
The most expensive shoes I own are actually boots. They are Iron Rangers from Red Wing. cost me about $300, and were totally worth it. I love them.
Love this review! I’m rather new to this so this is very helpful. One question I have is I need a pair of shoes that would look good with a pair of jeans and maybe a polo or button down shirt. Would monk straps or wingtips work or is that too dressy? Also would brown or black be better for that style?
Shoe polish and a brush are a great investment. For a few bucks you can keep dress shoes looking new after years of daily wear. The great thing about a well worn but well maintained pair of dress shoes is that they are super comfortable. I have only recently started to buck my ideas up style wise (getting close to 40) but I agree that having good presentation for work/play does change the way people treat you in a positive way. The weird thing is that these days, trendy brand casual clothes are more expensive than traditional dressier stuff. The secret is getting stuff off the rack fitted by a tailor/alterations guy. Costs a few bucks more but makes all the difference.
+Mark Walsh You're right about that.
This was a great video Antonio! Very helpful!
Shoes I wear far more often: my black cap toe - $130 and my brown wingtip - $140 both from GH Bass & Co. My next shoe I wear often: Nike Air Max Tailwind 7 - $94 - I wear this when I'm working out or quick errands. My casual non-athletic go-to shoe is my light brown nubuck chukkas (GH Bass & Co) - $135. I wear this during casual Fridays at work or when out on dates with my wife. I occasionally wear my old-school white canvas Tretorn sneakers when out with friends on a weekend jaunt.
Great advice, thanks a lot Antonio! This gave me a good idea what to do as I am currently trying to upgrade my clothes from the classic college student dress code :P
+Ryan Drews That's great! Happy to help :) Maybe you can let us know what you bought, or send a picture of it when you're done shopping.
thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I'm looking for a pair of Oxfords. Bespoke would be nice, but probably more than I want to spend. would you recommend a few quality brands?
My most expensive shoes are my brown plain-toe derbys by Lloyd. They cost about 200$. I wear them all the time.
Like 2/3 of all my shoes are by Lloyd. Great company in my opinion.
Hi Antonio - I recently had to get rid of most of my shoes I'd had for years because they were too tight. Any suggestions of online stores that would have good shoes in X-wide width? Thanks for all your help! Keep up the great work!
Thanks Antonio. The most expensive footwear in my closet are some Zamberlan Vioz hiking boots. After that, I have a couple pair of Ecco dress shoes, made in Europe (Portugal). Keep up the great work.
+Paul Dorn What's your take on that brand? I haven't tried Zamberlan Vioz.
Great video Antonio. I found your channel by chance and I'm glad I did. Fantastic!
+Steven Smith Awesome! Thanks for watching.
when i was a boy growing up in Newfoundland, my grandfather was a labourer on the CN line and he wore a suit and tought me how to sit in a pair of suit pants so as not to ruin the crease. he also carried a home made ( by my grandmother ) shoebag. this was made of old leftover material to carry our good shoes to school and wear galoshes in transit.
I do not know how it is possible in a city like Toronto, fully salted all winter long, to dress well on the way to wprk in transit unless one owns a car and has a heated driveway.
The only option here is to dress like a slob to work, carry a change of shoes and clothes and make a very awkward trip to a public washroom.
What am I doing wrong? I want to live in your world.
Most expensive shoes I have is a brown Steve Madden oxford shoes which I only worn a few times for fancy occasions. Its mostly winter where I live so I wear my dark brown desert boots almost everyday and it look great in everything.
+Charles Reyes Great choice!
Hey Antonio! I'm rewatching some shoe videos, this is something I need to invest better in.
