I understand now why jotaro stopped practicing time stop for a while after SC. maybe he didnt want to use the same powers that killed his friends and almost killed his grandpa unless it was absolutely necessary.
I think it was also because Jotaro wanted to live a normal life, not depending or being who he is because of his stand. Also because using time stop required a lot of energy which Jotaro didn’t have as a normal human being unlike Dio who was a vampire and inmortal.

At part 4: he barely sees his daughter, divorced, the crusaders are just gone now, josephs senile, polnareffs missing, the others are dead, he's the only one who can keep fighting the joestar curse, and now with josuke, josukes grandpa died and got wrapped up in the stand arrow/kira situation, proving to him that his lineage is cursed and that he should leave jolyne out of it, as much as he wants to see her and at part 6: 22 god damn years later, 122 years since the beginning of it all, at 40 yrs old, he was the only one who keeps fighting, josuke took down kira and kept the town safe, giorno rose to the top, but Jotaros fight hasnr ended yet, now his daughter gets wrapped up anyways and wants nothing to do with him, everything he tries do ends badly, because now the enemy studied him and exploited his biggest weakness, losing his discs and then ultimately dying. He tried his best, but was outsmarted. Jjba has 8 protags so far, but jotaro is definitely the biggest, popularity wise, and story wise.

Then you learn news that your mom is dying and you have 50 days to travel 9,679 KM without a plane. While your on your journey you have 27 different people attempt to assassinate you and your group. Finally on the last possible you find him. Unfortunately, you learn that 2 have your friends have been killed while you were away. You couldn’t do anything and you have 0 time to mourn. You split up to find Dio, when you find him you learn that your closest friend was donu- was impaled by Dio. Your grandfather tells you his ability only to be stabbed in the neck the second he finishes. You have no choice but to fight Dio, for your Mom’s sake, for your friends, for your grandfather, for your own safety. After learning how to use his ability. You defeat him.
Worst part? You can clearly see Jotato struggling with everything that happened on the last few hours. On the other fights, he had his friends, he had power, he could win. Now three of them are confirmed dead, two of them he doesn't know about their fate, and he is now up agaisnt a user that's, for once, more powerful than Star Platinum. He went head first into the fight with anger, only to he nearly killed multiple times by this inhuman monster that, unlike all others, can literally just pull himself together and regenerate his wounds like nothing happened, while constantly mocking Jotaro like a sociopath. For the first time, all Jotaro had was his brains, since his stand's muscle couldn't do anything. For the first time, he found himself being the weaker link, that had to rely on strategy to win. For the first time, he found himself on the shoes of all of the stand users he defeated; up agaisnt a stand far more powerful than his, that could easily swat him down like a fly. That, right there, is nightmare fuel. That tormented him for 11 years of his life and made him forcefully never use Star Platinum again. That trauma got to the point that he wanted to hunt down the very thing that made the stands in order to stop the waves from coming. But the fate still remains. No matter how much Jotaro tried, he couldn't get rid of the Joestar curse. He couldn't rid Josuke, Giorno and Jolyne from it. And it landed a massive counter-strike on Kujo.
I know what Jotaro wanted is to be the one who judges,cuz he's strong and all,but this man just toke more than he could handle,which caused a lot of tension above his whole life. i feel sorry for him.
It's like a mix between the fate that still remains and hesitation, perhaps because Jotaro realized that the fate that happened to Kakyoin who was a good friend of his may happen to Koichi, causing him to hesitate. Maybe I'm thinking too much over a good song but I just wanted to say this.

Just think about what he had to experience, he was 18 leaving his home to go fight a man he never knew about until now, and had that man kill 3 of his friends and only for him to find out he shares the same ability with this man, he has gone through a lot.

This was definately araki testing jotaros emotional limits/trauama in the story, both antags are blond, they donut, koichi wears green and gets donutted like kakyion, araki was setting this up to test jotaros limits.
I feel like this would be playing as a villain reveals the true scale their plan, and tells the hero how they never even had a chance at beating them, all with a wicked smile and a psychotic laugh.
