That kind of stuff is what I collect for. It's exciting. Buying high dollar, rare cards is nice. I just like a good back story in my collection too
I love moments like that, however collecting is a different world from when I used to collect, a high stakes gamble for the rich and eBay resellers. Takes the fun out of buying a pack of cards and getting your favorite players base card. One of my favorite moments was pulling a pippin blue ink auto from 96 sky box and a black Kevin garnett auto out of the same 60 box. Autos were a new thing to get in packs back then.
