I got it in 10th grade and beat some of the best players in 2v2 but then moved and never got to play again. It is a good game the best Xbox rts and better than halo wars 2
i haven't watched high level halowars gameplay in a hot minute and im over here shitting myself how great these guys are at the game! Marco always the goat imo, such a great dude and a phenomenal 1s player
Saw your last 3 last missions and I may have a few tricks for next one: 1: hellbringers do well vs garrison. Build a few quickly and their job will be clearing the garrisons. 2: with broomstick skull civilians will destroy the cargo! Keep them away from it (lol). You can however, use this to your advantage. Position a few units to block them they act as a Distraction for enemy. Cobras do well for range and cheaper than scorpion in case civilians boom big. 3: to shoot down spirits, don’t place wolverines at or directly over drop site. Place them slightly ahead and at an angle. This way, they are still damaging it after it passes over them, givi g more time they are hitting it before drop. Moreover, by not being directly over, they don’t have to rapidly turn and delay shots when it passes. This can be the difference between a drop with half health spirit and no drop at all. 4: for mega turret fly hornet cluster far edge. But just before you strike, have second player enter carpet bomb menu. First will peel over turret and encounter vamp. Have second immensely carpet bomb while first kites the very first hornets to take s vamp hit, even before it loses a decent chunk of health. You have to effectively kite earlier than expected due to delayed impact. Two bombs and a few seconds of hornet fire later will do it with minimal loss. Two players will make this much easier because it’s hard yo kite and carpet bomb simultaneously. Pull out once bomb has began. 5:memorize spirit flight path and you can strategically place wolverine or marines to snipe them. Use cobras to pester main base force, but don’t get close enough for vamps or hunters to Aggro. Carpet locust if necessary.

Well, anders forge brute are considered the best leaders in 1v1 matchups. Prophet, cutter and arbiter tend to not be as good in 1v1s but in the right hands they can definitely work well!
Actually arbiter is the very best leader in the entire game because you can do specific glitches that let you win. Chieftain, forge, and anders are the competitive picks with cutter not giving enough advantage without a free expo. 2v2 is really where it's at in halo wars.
What are the best build orders in general for UNSC? Is it just barracks and 2 supply pads while getting some warthogs to grab resources? Is it worth investing in infantry beyond the beginning? Or should they just be a stopgap into hogs? Any advice is appreciated!

Anyone who plays Halo wars 1 on windows 11 can you tell me how to get it to work without crashing before it gets to the title game. The game worked fine on Windows 10 with some frame rate issues but on Windows 11 where I can play Destiny 2, Halo infinite, Halo MCC, WW3, and other games perfectly fine including with mods.

couldn't agree more. I'm an OG HW player that held 50 for awhile until I started playing with my buddies who occasionally dropped connection / got ip flooded. I'm proud to say I wasn't a level 50 turd that boosted or never played again to maintain that true skill. I think I stopped playing around 48 and could easily dominate these kids in this video.
I so want a Halo Wars 3. Halo Wars 2 had a lot of innovation, but it was short-lived. I gave props for Flood DLC, but to me, they were missing something. It just felt flat most of the time, and the maps were practically all the same.
Flat? I would disagree, it was too complicated and leader power focused. The leader powers just passively grew stronger since it wasn’t connected to your base resources or power- and was connected to a leveling system. It was incredibly annoying, and so was the cloak mechanic. But you’re right the leaders somehow kinda did feel all the same somehow, probably because differences weren’t made between banished and unsc, like with temples or different tech requirements etc- less synergy. I also miss rebels.
Marco isn't the all time 1 v 1 goats, used to beat him all the time, but I did play the game a little bit recently but dont claim marco was even in the top 10 let alone the goat 😂

For first game I think teen made mistake not pressing leader harder at 29:40, but I’ve never had online play so idk. I just do legendary or heroic for fun.

12yr old me thought this was a new first person halo game. Was disappointed at first but it grew on me over time 😄
