I love visiting the South. Traveled from W VA to Kentucky, Tennessee, N and s Carolina, GA, Alabama. Haven’t been to Mississippi, wanted to go during football season. Southerners are FRIENDLY and polite. I enjoy being addressed as Ma’m and doors being opened for me.
Because the racial prospects of the South is reality and history. It’s very insensitive of you as a white woman to complain about that when minorities have to live it everyday. Of course it’s easy for you as a White woman to enjoy “southern goodness” without thinking about racial history. I’ve lived in the South all my life and I love it, but I’m not going to pretend like it’s not full of dark history. Actually I don’t even have the privilege of pretending that.
Josie - I think we are all emotional with what is going on in Ukraine right now and I think it just comes out when we see something like a sunrise. Nothing like a war to make you appreciate where you are in your life and if you are a compassionate caring person it just affects you subconsciously. BYW - I live in Charlotte, N.C. and the Carolinas are a wonderful place to live. We are lucky!

One of the things that Charleston is known for is it's beautiful grand oaks! We even have one that is called the Angel Oak tree that is believed to be 400-500 years old! Please come visit again! You've only seen a fraction of this beautiful town I call home!
I discovered your channel a few months ago and today I’m venturing to some older videos. I’m thrilled that you visited my home state of SC and showcased Charleston in such a beautiful way. I live in the Upstate next to the mountains and am only 3 1/2 hours away from Charleston. My girlfriends and I visit at least once a year. So happy you discovered our little slice of heaven.

You two are so hilarious to watch as well...even before Tequila. I wrote this on Freddy's vlog but thought I'd share it here too for you to see as I have some tips for future travel to the south: Wow, you guys were just in my neck of the woods! Although I live closer to Atlanta Ga I have been to many of the same places as you just visited. Charleston is the most beautiful city but I've only been once. Your video has definitely made me want to plan another visit and soon! You would not go wrong spending more time in Savannah. It has many beautiful and wonderful sights to see as well as the great history there. I LOVE Hilton Head. My cousin used to own a condo there and so I spent a few summers visiting. I would recommend in future going further south and visiting Amelia Island. It would be right up your alley and it is right across the water by ferry from Cumberland Island where there are wild horses, nature preserves, old ruins, and the historic Greyfield Inn (where JFK Jr and company stayed when he got married in a historical church there). Josie's King (reference to the King of Carnival) donut was decorated because of Mardi Gras coming up and those are the colors. As for white sand, I've traveled to a lot of beaches around the world and you will never find sand whiter than you will on the Gulf Coast which runs along the states of Alabama and Florida. Absolutely stunning and the sand squeaks when you walk on it! Also, love me some Chik Fil A!

There is a book set in Charleston written by Pat Conroy called South of Broad. It has some very dark scenes, so just be aware you’ll need some emotional fortitude if you choose to read it. But it’s a very well done book and it gives kind of an insider’s perspective of the historical wealthy part of the city, which is of course south of Broad street.

It's blowing my mind that you were in Charleston. When I first started watching you years ago, I was living in Hong Kong and your world felt so far away from mine. Now I live in South Carolina and that honestly felt like even more of a stretch. And here you are! SO glad you had a wonderful time. I have been all over the world and Charleston is still one of my favorite cities, though the history is rough as it played such a big role in the Confederacy and the slave trade.

Here in Raleigh, we go to Charleston to make ourselves feel as if we've gone to London or some other charming place... like the Cotswolds, LOL... but you probably only want to Charleston in January and February - the rest of the year is hot, humid and filled with tourists, LOL....
Charleston is really wonderful...and the LoveShackFancy shop was a dream! I wish we had it in Italy or at least in my hometown, it really looks like every girl's dream :) One day I hope to be able to go on such an interesting road trip in America.

If you want another colorful city to explore with beautiful weather & beaches I recommend Key West, and the Florida Keys in general. I have been all over the world and Charleston is still one of my favorite cities, though the history is rough as it played such a big role in the Confederacy and the slave trade.

Nothing more beautiful than watching the sunrise on the horizon and the day to break into its beautiful colors. Some people might have thought you bonkers but we act that way while traveling too. My favorite city in the US - I probably visit 6 times a year. Such a beautiful, delicious and historic city. Low country at it's finest.

Here in Raleigh, we go to Charleston to make ourselves feel as if we've gone to London or some other charming place... like the Cotswolds, LOL... but you probably only want to Charleston in January and February - the rest of the year is hot, humid and filled with tourists, LOL....

Charleston is really wonderful...and the LoveShackFancy shop was a dream! I wish we had it in Italy or at least in my hometown, it really looks like every girl's dream :) One day I hope to be able to go on such an interesting road trip in America.

So crazy to think you were both just 30 minutes away from me at one point! I’m glad you both had fun. If you want another colorful city to explore with beautiful weather & beaches I recommend Key West, and the Florida Keys in general.
