Losing a Gen 2 Pokémon stage was a big loss since we haven't been able to get any in future games. I think it may have changed to Bell Tower if they were to go through with adding it since it has way more significance to the Gen 2 games.
Yeah it's hard to say what they would have done!
I think Dummy is supposed to just be the black background on the victory screen since that’s the only other place in the game where the fighters’ models are used (minus the Adventure and All-Star Character Trophies)

Perhaps “Pokemon Floats” wasn’t named after “parade floats” (noun), but the fact that _pokemon_ are literally _floating_ (verb).

Sprout Tower makes me wonder what it would be if making a moving stage like Pokefloats was easier to make than a (seemingly) stagnant stage.
Right? My guess is it was easier to use existing assets from Pokemon Stadium and do some basic animations than to create unique models, env., structured, etc from scratch.

Speaking of stages has anyone figured out a way to make side KOs less jarring with widescreen mods? Maybe by visualizing the blastzones or something?

This is amazing! 100% using the three cut stages. had to get the Sprout Tower stage via Beyond Melee and extracting said stage. as for Ice Top, loved how it's done:it doesn't move but makes sense due to software/hardware limitations, plus it has bothered me name that the Rainbow Cruise was inproperly named (Despite being younger than the OG Mario 64 on N64). Great video!

really do like how this channel actually takes deep dives into melee as a game and its development history and whatnot, unlike most melee-based channels which focus on competitive stuff. while i love both equally, theres pretty much no other channel that takes a look at melee as a game in such an in depth way like this one, and its really great

I'd love to see a deep dive into beta stages. Temple, Brinstar, Termina and Yoshi's Island seem to have interesting histories. Yoshi's island beta got a recreation in Beyond Melee, I hope if more people knew about the others that maybe someone would bring their beta elements back to life through modding one day.
@@TheBestBrawler I did touch on that a bit in my Elevated Documentary, not sure how much more in depth I could go based on the footage available. Would love someone to try to model or recreate it.

Melee is being decompiled right? Do you think more proto discoveries will be unearthed this way? I remember reading on some fan wiki that supposedly there were remnants of Akaneia in the code and checking the wiki for years to see if anyone would add them to the article. That bit of information was later removed (I think) yet I couldn’t let go of the possibility that someone had seen hints of something they couldn’t extract or display in game. Could’ve been a lie of course. Regardless, part me holds onto a little hope that with Melee being completely decompiled we might see a bit of Akaneia, seeing any new development secrets should be fun.

@@vaporcranberries *Sprout Tower, Bell Tower is a different location. And it would have been Tin Tower, the original name of Bell Tower before they changed it.
Are you sure Kingdom of Archanea would have been the same as Brawl's Castle Siege? Because it would probably have had a different structure.
