I just realized something. Remember how this is all happening during a famine? The twins must be really starving. Gretel is wondering if the place they're going to will alleviate their hunger once and for all, but Hansel is probably thinking that they're going to their final resting place, dying together in the forest their parents loved because of how hopeless their circumstances are. It's just a theory, but if that's the case, then shit I feel awful for them.

To those of you who don't know: Hansel and Gretel's adoptive parents--Adam and Eve Moonlit--decided to abandon them during a famine and left them in the forest. However, Hansel used the bottle around his neck to guide him and Gretel back home. Realizing what their adoptive parents were trying to do, they shoved Eve into the stove, believing her to be a "witch" (she actually was, too), and stabbed Adam to death because they thought he was her "henchman". After this, they found their old home to be more welcoming than before and decided to stay and wait for their real parents to appear and praise them. Obviously, this never happened because their mother, Meta Salmhofer, was killed by Eve when she thought she was a bear trying to steal her "apples" (aka, Hansel and Gretel as babies). They did not have a father, as they were created in a lab and then given birth to by Meta, who then escaped so that they wouldn't be "their playthings". They eventually created the seven deadly sins.

I like how u can kinda notice how Moonlit Bear and Tale of ABandonment on Moonlit Night sounds a tid bit similar Anyways heres some random song references i hear that prob no one cares but who cares The start sounds like when a bear poof in Moonlit Bear slightly 1:09 to 1:14 sounds like a part in Regret Message. 1:51 to 2:11 sounds like Moonlit Bear when Eve was wandering outside, but in a slight major (in terms of music) way 2:26 to 3:02 sounds like Moonlit Bear when bear (Meta) poofs but in a slight major way again, but also a bit scary but also courageous 3:25 sounds like a minor (in terms of music) version of Chrono Story a bit.

Alright but can I talk about how hansel and gretel just kind of get abducted by conchita. Like when lemy dies conchita swoops in and just takes hansel into the glass of conchita and leaves
This song actually has 2 possible ways of interpretation. 1 is according to EC, Haensel and Gretel are ghoul children and murdered Eve and Adam. 2 is according to the Grimm Brother's Fairy Tale, but took some time after the original incident. Haensel and Gretel both followed their parents back home through a forest. And for some reason, they got strayed from their part. They still got their senses and thus, still remember who they are. They wandered aimlessly through the woods and surprisingly, they found a glass bottle (probably they left it when they go to the Witch's cottage) flickering under the moonlight. They realised the path they're going is actually to the Witch's cottage and surprisingly, she is still alive with her henchman. And so, infuriated, they killed the Witch once more, and also the henchman. After they successfully murdered them, they looked around and ensured that was the same place they ended up in the original story. So they decided to stay for a night, and set off the next day to find their real parents. A little weird huh?
I think the curse twin god are Hansel and Gretel because they said they will be looking for the "real" Mother and father, and Eve Zvezda was chosen. {Project MA}

Whereas Riliane and Alexiel (Allen) were meant to be the reincarnation of Hansel and Gretel, it was foiled by Prim (?) who gave born to Ney first and forced Hansel to leave Gretel in that era to reincarnate into another era because he wasn't paired with her. Which also led to Hansel losing Gretel in the process because of the malice of Gluttony that later swallowed Gretel. (Which is why, Hansel had more reincarnations than Gretel and, ehem! The "Boy of the End") Riliane and Alexiel themselves morphed into another being and yeah. "Godly twins" more or less. (Gdi, the Kagamine twins got all the dramatic and op roles in EC). But i think... Hansel and Gretel are indeed cursed with their own insanity.

I get the feeling the twins were in the forest longer than we think. The fact that they thought Adam and Eve were evil might be because they were so hungry, and they weren’t thinking straight. Or, it was a coping mechanism to deal with what happened. Regardless, I really do feel bad for them.

I don't know why I feel so sick when listening to this song. Especially at the end. The melody is beautiful, I can't disagree with that. But the ending... "Isn't it a peaceful place?" something about this line just makes me so, so sick... I actually wrote a story about abandonment because of this song... it makes me cry every time I listen to it.

A long time ago, before the lyrics were changed, people thought "like Hansel and Gretel" meant the kids thought they were in the fairytale. That combined with the unusual depiction of Eve led people to think Adam and Eve gave the children to a different family, THAT family abandoned them, and then they stumbled upon Eve's house and played out the story by killing the "witch." It's possible given the lyric change MOTHY originally intended something like this but changed it to be less confusing. It could also be a reflection of the twins' inability to recognize their mother as fake or the original sinner until they killed her. She wasn't "Eve, the Original Sinner" she was just their mom, a normal woman.

Or you can understand it like this (my theory based on the fairy-tale, not recommended to believe): So this is basically a few years later after Hänsel and Gretel defeated the Witch. But this time she returned. And their parents and them are returning home on a moonlit night, but they got lost on their way and went to another trail, which is the same trail leads to the Witch's cottage. And due to a little glass bottle they found on their way, they used it to reflected the moonlight onto the trail and move on until they realised that this is where they go to the Witch's house. And so they came in and killed the Witch once more, alongside her henchman. And after making sure that they arrived in the exact same house they did years ago, they set out to find their real parents.

まずレヴィアとビヒモはこの楽曲の近くの国で祀られている双竜神でした。ある日双竜神はとある予言をします。それはこのままいけば近いうちにはこの国は滅びてしまうというものでした、それを阻止するためには自分達を転生させろ、転生するための依り代を作れと国のお偉いさんたちに命令をしました。そして計画されたのがma計画、一度目は失敗しましたが二度目は成功しました。そこで生まれたのがヘンゼルとグレーテルです
言ってしまえばヘンゼルとグレーテルはレヴィアとビヒモの依り代であり劣化コピーです

A long time ago, before the lyrics were changed, people thought "like Hansel and Gretel" meant the kids thought they were in the fairytale. That combined with the unusual depiction of Eve led people to think Adam and Eve gave the children to a different family, THAT family abandoned them, and then they stumbled upon Eve's house and played out the story by killing the "witch." It's possible given the lyric change MOTHY originally intended something like this but changed it to be less confusing. It could also be a reflection of the twins' inability to recognize their mother as fake or the original sinner until they killed her. She wasn't "Eve, the Original Sinner" she was just their mom, a normal woman.

And due to a little glass bottle they found on their way, they used it to reflected the moonlight onto the trail and move on until they realised that this is where they go to the Witch's house. And so they came in and killed the Witch once more, alongside her henchman. And after making sure that they arrived in the exact same house they did years ago, they set out to find their real parents.
