My wife and I have been in JB nw for only 1 year and we absolutely also love the weather and the people. We had always had the thought to settle in Thailand, but once we had a taste of Malaysia, we knew this was definately the place to be. I feel so at home here. Glad we made this choice.

When I moved here I posted a question on what it’s like in JB. No responses until the day I went to Heathrow to fly here (having never been to Asia before). A response had been added “my advice, get a gun”. I was worried like crazy where I was going. It’s now 13 years later and I love living here in Johor! You’re right it’s nothing like the impression people have.
Great to see someone posting about JB and how great it is. Like you’ve said many times the place has changed beyond recognition in the time we’ve both been here. Hope you are able to stay / return after MCO.

Malaysia enjoys tropical weather year round however due to its proximity to water the climate is often quite humid. Despite this, the weather is never too hot and temperatures range from a mild 20°C to 30°C average throughout the year; however the highlands experience cooler temperatures. Malaysia is located in a heaven protected zone that does not experience drastic weather changes or serious natural calamities such as earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis and tornadoes etc.. Enjoy light cotton, cool and casual clothing is recommended all year round. Most of the facilities are air-conditioned so like you can work and stay heavenly in comfort. The north-east monsoon blows from the months of November to April and bring heavy rains to the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia as well as to Sabah and Sarawak. The south-west monsoon season from May to October is a drier period although the tropical climate means that rain and thunderstorms can be expected from time to time. Enjoy the friendly climate shower, too. With its delightful varieties of cultures and traditions, Malaysia is undeniably a food haven that offers a sumptuous range of cuisine. Malaysians love their food and most will agree that there is no other country in the world that has as much variety of food that tastes so good. The price of the food is so affordable that you can eat out most of the time during your stay in Malaysia. Malay, Chinese and Indian cuisine are easily available at most restaurants and hawker stalls. At the same time, there are many restaurants that serve cuisine from all over the world - American, Middle Eastern, Thai, Italian, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, and many others. Fast food outlets serving burgers and pizza can be found easily. Halal food is available everywhere and there are ample eateries that offer vegetarian food. Eating out in major cities is convenient as many restaurants are open 24 hours. Don't forget this heavenly words "Peace Upon You", enjoy and cheers.
