Pete, the secret to your success is you're truly a "people person". Your interactions with your customers are genuine and you're upfront about everything. Olivia.
To fix the screw, 1st remove screw, 2nd insert toothpicks into hole and cut flat with surface, 3rd reinstall screw. Also you can clean records by having it turn on turn table, spread wood glue while it's spinning with a squeegee, becareful not to get glue on the label. Let glue dry and then you can peel it off in one piece. It gets everything out of the grooves of the record and the record will sound new.
OMG it was a sad day when I heard Olivia had past away , And I just happened to watch Grease again not 2 weeks ago now. She has an amazing voice... Good luck to all ... Olivia Newton John!
I met Olivia when she opened a Australia themed store in a mall in Toronto Ontario Canada back in the early 70's. She was down to earth, friendly and a very beautiful woman !!!
OLIVIA , My grandma had a bowl very similar to that bowl you have. She used it to crack nuts with this little metal hammer. Not sure if that's what it was intended for but that was her use !!
You were taught wrong I’m afraid. “To be honest” and “I’ll be honest” are just turns of phrase, not inherently malicious whatsoever, they’re no worse than using an exclamation point or anything else used for emphasis and/or clarity. People who think those turns of phrase are inherently dishonest are overly paranoid and/or distrusting.
@@Kerunou 2 yrs later... Lol lil late bud. I can tell u r in sales... No need to say I'll be honest if u r not being honest all the time... Simple don't over think it buddy. I'll be honest is just what sales guys say to make the sale sound better. No paranoia here haha 2 yrs later 🤦🏼♂️
1910 to 1920 on the table....candlestick telephone and the box was for notepaper and pens/pencils....or an ipad, charger and cables. These people were ahead of their time.
Olivia!!! My hero as she referenced gay men in a positive and silly (and safe) way in her "Lets get physical" video (at the end). I was afraid to be gay at that time with AIDS and super amounts of hate. I was just a kid at the time and she was a positive role model who accepted people. She was remarkable.
@@jefffruth4763 hey man, how much can i get for these cd's and this car radio? i have other stuff too. we can be partners. you take care of me i take care of you. do you guys like jewelry. how about bikes, i have a lot of bikes. can i see that little pipe
I'd be into it. Sure you have to deal with some undesirables, but meeting new and interesting people and getting interesting stuff all the time... seems like fun to me. It's kind of a cool spin on the retail market.
Olivia was the first 45 I purchased back in 1975 with the single being 'Have you been mellow' she will be terribly missed, her music will live on forever as well as her memory.
Here is an easy record cleaning solution recipe. Combine 4 parts distilled water, one part isopropyl alcohol, and a few drops of dish detergent. Stir these together gently. It is best to use distilled water in order to avoid some of the impurities that can be found in tap water. Avoid spraying on the label (or wipe off immediately).
Rest In Peace Olivia. If you’re getting too much stuff than you can handle I would totally move out there to work for you. Just a dream from a random stranger. I love your videos.
I've seen these tables before. I was told by a few people that they are Victorian calling card tables. The flat area would sometimes have a silver tray where visitors would leave their card when someone wasn't home, and the homeowner would leave their calling cards in the compartment area. That is what I've been told, but I'm not sure its true.
Loose screws? Remove screws, stick some toothpicks in hole. Dip toothpicks into some hide glue first then fill hole and cut off excess for a smooth flush surface and let dry. Then screw the screws back in. (The toothpicks will fill hole with wood so they have something to bite into.
OLIVIA - You are a great human. Some people would markup the price on records like those and try to make money off of it; here you are giving it away. Bless you.
I'm going to assume that there wasn't a purchase on the baseball artist's work...he was a real throwback and quite a character...thanks for including him in the video...:)
Olivia she was a great singer and a beautiful artist. I wish the new generation of kids could experience music like this I think my daughter would love her.
It certainly looks like that, but it's curious that the box is hinged in a way that it would be awkward to get something out while using the phone. If the box was hinged the other way, it would be much easier to get a pen or paper while using the phone.
@@lazer2365 It's probably for something that we in 2022 have no concept of but makes perfect sense at the time it was made. Agreed the drawers opening the wrong way don't make sense.
Peter, nice episode. Try breaking off the tip of a toothpick into the holes of that beginning “cigar box/ashtray” part and reinserting the screws to tighten. Works every time. Cheers.
I would love to get one of the Olivia Newton John records! I watch all your videos for many years! And look forward to new ones whenever they come.out!!!!
Yes Pete that is a cigar table/ pipe table my grandpa was a furniture Builder and a antique repair originally from the Adirondacks of New York and then moved to South Carolina and he had one of these beside his reclining chair for his cigars and his pipes it was a little different but very similar and I believe it is still there in his house that my uncle now resides in
I remember those trolls from my childhood! I love that Honey got on the box after you bought the dolls. 😻 You all are so kind and patient. Pete my Dad had a magic formula to clean his vinyl too. 💙 Could that little table be for writing? Put envelopes and paper in the slots? Now that bowl that really has me stumped! Could it have been for nuts and you cracked them on the top of the metal? Can't wait to find out!
Hello Peter, a good fix for those loose screws is to, remove the screw and put a wooden toothpick in the hole, break the toothpick off flush with the hole, then reinstall the screw.
It's a telephone table... back when the tele was a round base with microphone atop, and you'd hold the earpiece. The phone would sit atop table and the box contained pencils and paper for folks to take notes. These were in hotel lobby's, doctors offices, some restaurants.
Olivia! I have her 45 of ""If You Love Me Let Me Know", and that's still one of my favorite songs. I heard her say once they had to sew her in to those black pants for the end of "Grease".
Olivia! Grease is the word rest in peace you were and always will be beautiful. Thank you for the inspiration on my childhood & a part of my inspiration to want to dress like a greaser in high school.
Yup you had it! For the cigars and for and ashtray. The common stogies would be in there and the nice ones for distinguished guests would be pulled from the humidor. Usually had initials on it.
Where did that bag of chips come from?? Didn't see that coming....amazing....Who brings a snack to a pawn deal? I love it! From now on I'm bringing a large bag of lays everywhere.
Olivia was such an icon. for that black bowl, it looks so much like a salsa/dip bowl, but I can't figure out what the middle part is for, the acid of the salsa would explain the tinting. The antique table is possible a candle table as others have said, or it's a sewing, knitting table, something to hold your part and some items while you are on chair next to it.
MyGrandmother had a table similat to this...she sat the phone on the round part and used the other side for storing note paper and pens and sometimes sewing stuff...yes its a beautiful piece...
Olivia , my mom introduced me to her music in the mid 90s as she was a Grease fanatic. Unfortunately we lost two great women , Olivia as previously mentioned as well as my beautiful mother in January from COVID. Love the videos Pete , you are truly one of the good ones !!!
Olivia. i am always fascinated by those trolls. hated the hell out of them as a kid, but as an adult kinda found an appreciation for them. well the original 60s ones, and the oversized ones 12" ones.
In the 90’s I got the yearly Christmas Barbie as a gift. I have a number of never opened in the original box Christmas Barbies all sitting sadly in a storage bin and no longer on display in my girlhood bedroom.
Nut cracking bowl and a phone table, we have the phone tables in our store with a seat never seen one like that. But from it's small stature seems likes its for a phone. Love your videos. Rest in peace Olivia.
It's a nutbowl. There should be a wooden hammer for cracking nuts on the metal piece. My great grandparents had one.
Probably caused some arguments.
Great-grandma's having a snooze and great grandpa decides to crack a few nuts...
Facts. Working in a pawn shop you see all kinds of nuts (and flakes). Oh, you mean the furniture…….
I concur, a walnut bowl was my first thought after getting a look at the center piece.
you could use it to juice friut.
I was thinking this as well!! Great
Olivia ! I loved her . Not only was she musically gifted she was beautiful. Olivia! RIP
Lmao the guy bringing a snack with him inside the store is awesome. My man just loving life, making small talk and eating snacks
guy really brought a bag of lays chips inside and was eating lol

Makes sense. Best idea so far.
@6:18 the bowl is a vintage nut bowl,
There should be a peace that slides up and down on the metal to break up the nuts. Kinda like a nut cracker

Olivia she was a great singer and a beautiful artist. I wish the new generation of kids could experience music like this I think my daughter would love her.
I think that the table is for a phone, and the drawers are for note paper and pens--possibly ink bottles if it's old enough.
It certainly looks like that, but it's curious that the box is hinged in a way that it would be awkward to get something out while using the phone.
If the box was hinged the other way, it would be much easier to get a pen or paper while using the phone.

Olivia - I was born in the 90s but fell in love with her and her music. She will be sorely missed.
I found a picture exactly like that bowl you had. Made by Parsons and it’s a nut bowl with the anvil in the middle as it was described.
That's exactly what I was thinking it could be. Guess you used a small maulet to break open the nut?
