ichibangrom Suspension has been killer but I think I busted a seal. I’m pretty sure it happened while transporting the bike. I might have had it strapped down too tight 🤷🏻♂️ I ordered new ones today so hopefully I can get them installed ASAP!
California is truly the Golden State when it comes to its beautiful geological/geographical diversity. Too bad it's corrupt and expensive to live in. What's great about where we live (me in New Mexico) is that we can escape to the mountains away from the heat (we live where the desert meets the treeline). Great music selection!
Corrupt and expensive is an understatement! I often question why I’m still living here. The riding, family, and a few friends are the main reasons. Escaping the heat is the only way! Thanks for watching!
Right on! 👍 Grew up on the hill in Running Springs as a kid and was always riding that side. Sill head up there all the time and ripping on my KTM 300. Some days like today, I'll head up there slow boat on my Van Van 200. Just up there today on same route cruising and checking views, slow, but good times. 👍👍
It’s good to see there is still some water crossings there. Love that area and need to make a trip out there again. No bueno seeing that hawk :( Great footage and music as always!
A buddy gave me his 1990's era TW200. It's going to be my camping TW if I can get it back to 100%. Three years of sitting in the rain and snow, but it came to life last night after a carb cleaning. Hoping to get it perfect and outfitted to haul my camping gear nice and soon.
Congrats! Thats a good friend to have! Hope you bought him a beer or 12! Wow after 3 years! Thats confirmation of how rudimentary, yet resilient these little bikes are! Be sure to check ProCycle for any needed parts! I’ll leave the link. procycle.us/bikepages/tw200.html
Love the vid! I was just out there. Can't wait for the camping videos. I really want to do them too. Probably gonna after a couple trips I already have planned. Thanks for the video!
Thank you! I can’t wait to head back and hopefully catch Butler Peak when its open. Maybe I’ll grow some balls and try that gnarly looking trail when I head back 😂
I stumbled on your channel while looking for dual sport rides in Big Bear. I am headed up that way to explore in the next couple weeks. Thanks for telling us what maps your are using, I am going to check that out. See ya on the trail. I am on an '03 XR650R.
I really love watching your content. So first thx. Been thinking about getting a small dual sport but two things have held me back. 1 really concerned about getting hurt. Have you ever been injured riding? 2 Never had a bike and can't decide TW200/XT250/CRFL etc etc. Do you ever wish you chose a more traditional, not TW, bike?
John Scott Much appreciated! Glad that you’re enjoying the content! Knock on wood, but I’ve never been injured while riding. I’ve taken some pretty hard spills but luckily ATGATT (ALL THE GEAR ALL THE TIME) saved me! You don’t have to break the bank but some decent gear is crucial while you’re learning the basics. Regardless of weather, I always wear my helmet (obviously), a fully armored jersey, knee & shin guards, moto boots, and gloves. Think about the style of riding you wish to accomplish as well. The TW has been the perfect starter bike for me. Wouldn’t have it any other way! I’m only 5’ 5” so the low seat height is a big confidence booster for us short folk😁 Let me know if you have any other questions!
@@TillDeathDualUsSport Wow really appreciate the reply. ATGATT!!!! I am also vertically challenged and honestly that's what drove me to the TW. The only other bike I am really thinking about is the XT250 that also has a low seat.
@@johnscott9829 No sweat! The XT250 is also an excellent option…plus you’re getting fuel injection with the XT (2013 and newer I believe) vs the TW’s carburetor. Both have their positives and negatives.
Wartime Archery The bars already had both foam and cover on when I installed them. I’m guessing you have to manhandle it. Or maybe use zip ties to cinch the foam down and get it started, then cut them off as you work your way from end to end.
I have not, nor have I seen anything other than an ATV tire as you mentioned. Shinko would make a killing if they started to produce some TW options for the rear!
For the most part the simple answer is yes. If you drive to the site you must pay and display and adventure pass in your vehicle. Fire permits are required(not sure if they cost money). Open fires might not be allowed due to fire threat level.
@@9thSapper Correct. As long as its a designated Yellow Post/Primitive Camping spot you’re good to go free of charge. Campsites almost always require a per night fee. Fire permits are free and can be printed online after you pass a 10 question quiz. You’re also correct on the fire situation. All of the local mountains out here are on high level fire restrictions.
Every time I smell that pine forest smell it takes me back to camping as a kid. There is noting else like it!
Agreed! It is something that a cardboard tree dangling from the rearview can never reproduce!
Been to all those spots many many times back in the day. I love those rides. Thanks for bringing back the good memories.
Adventure Awaits Some of it was familiar but a lot of it was new to me and I must say it’s really something special up there!
Your intro segment was sick!
mdscstudios Much appreciated!
Good Ride!!!! Looks like the suspension is working good for ya. Thanks for the share

I prefer slow😀 Majority of why I prefer to ride solo, everyone wants to rip all the time!
Thanks for watching!
Nice dude! That is some of my favorite riding up there. I’m hoping to head up there after work sometime in the next few weeks!
Each Adventure It’s so nice up there! I want to do a huge loop into Hesperia and back...there’s still so much I haven’t seen up there 😀

cool vid I like those bags what are they called?
AV_LOS Thanks! They are Voodoo Tactical bags I found at the Army Surplus.
I put the same foam thing on my handlebars, I was able to get the foam part on but not the plastic with velcro, is there a trick to getting it on?

Have y'all found a replacement rear tire other than OEM or ATV tire?

Can you freely disperse camp (dry camp) on federal lands in California without a fee?
