Only thing I would add to this is something I use ALL the time, and that's to sidechain the vocals into a compressor on the reverb FX channel. Particularly on a busy mix, that helps prevent the vocals from sinking into the reverb, but brings the reverb up after the end of the vocal phrase. I also sometimes use dynamic EQ to move some of the mix out of the way of the vocals, but that's probably outside the scope of this.
