  • A slow and steady journey brought Jodi here. After being raised evangelical and finding it irreconcilable, she became an atheist, then agnostic. Six years ago she spontaneously wondered if there was more to her existence and that wonder has grown and made life so much more exciting. She is still a seeker but she feels so much more clarity.

I think we’re in our true nature more than we realise. Think about all the times you’ve gazed out the window and at the ocean and just not thinking about anything. Just being.

Haha…Having teenagers does present a challenge. They are the reason for my own awakening. I could not take the yo-yo of high and low emotions anymore. You can observe and not judge anything as wrong or good. It’s just happening and we deal with it in the moment without identifying with it. ❤ I love the questions because I still get sucked in too. Less now, keep leaning back into your effortless being.

Thanks for sharing ; the process of recognizing the invitations one by one and gradually calming the mind’s efforts to stay alive and in charge was very interesting and inspiring. Integration of a one glimps into the human experience is a whole new thing on itself… disinformation part was one huge fun fact!!😀

...yawning can also be a sign that your vagus nerve is activating the parasympathetic nervous system into rest and recover mode. ❤x

Interesting! I’m so glad she brought this up, I experience the urge to yawn over and over whenever I have to leave impersonal being and engage with others.

The whole of the dualistic world is disinformation 😂 fake news. I loved the exercise bike 🚲 to Sydney too. 🤣 Thank you David & Jodi xx

Jodi, thank you for your delightful honesty and integrity. I followed along with everything you said. Regarding your question/comments starting at 1:33:33 on the matter of awakening from great suffering -- do you also see that great suffering is not only experienced on an individual level but also happens (is happening) on a much larger collective scale? As we awaken from the 'disinformation campaign' of the story of a personal separate self and begin to realize the more unifying (and impersonal) reality of awareness (who we really are), it seems this play of collective suffering becomes (in a way) more and more "personal" (for lack of a better word). Maybe "more keenly felt" is a better descriptor? To quote David, "the contraction of suffering is only due to the investment we've been making". Those countless daily personal 'invitations' from the dualistic realm which (seem to) pull us away from our true nature and make us "forget" are also very hard at play in the news and on social media, constantly seeking to draw us (invite us) to take part, to get angry or become embroiled in some kind of emotional reaction or "side" which only serves to perpetuate and intensify the craziness. May we all continue to awaken and realize the great wisdom of declining the invitations to contract into engagement and to find our rest in the peace that underlies it all. It's not about closing our ears and eyes and not seeing what's going on, but in seeing it for what it really is and evermore finding our stance in the peace and deep calm of awareness. ❤

Resting in out true nature as awareness, we access the fields of wisdom and bliss. This is like the teaching in Dzogchen.
