You know you buy too many games when you look at a game and think it looks cools, only to look in Steam and realize you already bought it (probably during a Steam sale).
133 actually has a lot of sand, it’s just you know, under the enemy base. Once you capture the sector though it’s actually one of the best early game hub sectors
Back in my day, mindustry didn't have thorium (we had uranium), neither did we have units to build, nor did we have a campaign. It was literally just a map with only turrets, and without any smooth graphics, being the worst pixelated graphics in all of reality. It's nice to see this game has gotten far far, far better than it used to be.
I remember playing v5 and just fooling around on a map where enemies wouldn’t come out at all, I learned how to use the mechanics well but v6 came. And then I discovered mindustry on RUclips. I only seriously started playing by the end of v6 and through early v7 betas. But you, sir are a true veteran, thanks for sticking around the mindustry community through all this time.
Fun fact, in update 5 the core actually backed up if you sent materials into it and it was full. It was changed in update 6 because it made sending mixed belts of resources into the core impossible, because one resource filling up would stop the others on the belt from going in. You can still change it back to the previous setting in a menu, but I've never felt the need to when you can use overflow gates like you described.
The burning of excess materials serve another purpose - it will make sure the sector keeps producing materials when you are in another sector, since the sector production is based on the average flux of items into the core. If items no longer flow into the core since the core is full, your production will be judged as "low" and your sector won't produce as much when you're somewhere else.
and yet they are still a double edged sword. a law of the universe is that any code more complex than a single function will be impossible to debug and understand later. and on servers, processors can range from making attrax huddle around a turret for no reason to Almighty Fortress Creep
The addition of armor belts have made clogs less of an issue for those who know how to use them. Still the game should be more clear as to their primary use. Just having more hp isnt really a good reason to use a belt, but stopping side input and being able to put routers next to them safely is beyond worth the extra cost
Fun fact. Mindustry is also completely open source which means you can do anything you want to the game images which are distributed under open source license so it’s completely free.
I really appreciate when RUclipsrs who have good humor and are relatable cover small games like this one. It really makes me smile seeing someone else begin enjoying a game I take great interest in as well. You earned a like and a sub from me!
It has been brought to my attention that this video did not upload in 480p or 240P resolutions. Quite distraught I reached out to some other youtubers and apparently this issue has been plaguing small channels since early December 2022. I can confirm that it is not an issue I can fix since it appears RUclips is bugged or field testing something. If you can watch it at 720p60fps I highly recommend it, since 360p butchers it with compression. Cheers. [Edit: As of December 2022 it appears that RUclips only processes the 480p and 240p resolutions once the video hits a certain number of views.]

I like how much the launch pad mechanics is hyped up in this video by the end, but omitting the fact that it's actually removed entirely for the ORANGE planet is what had me cackling.
As said in video and by the dev, erekir was designed as a new, smoother, balanced approach to ministry and as badass as rocket accelerated resource transfers are, they are incredibly broken. They work only because of sheer number of sectors on serpulo.

Some tips for surviving more often: - have water turrets near anything flammable. This includes pyratite/blast production, big coal mines, shenanigans with liquid slag and your frontlines - water is also very useful for boosting mines; a blast drill with water can run at ~10 items/s, and you can get that amount up to 25 items/s with overdrive (compare to 0.5 from the basic drill) - have at least two tiles of plastanium walls in your defenses. The laser enemies will otherwise tear through your defenses - the status effects applied on enemies can be very strong (liquid slag gives fire, oil gives tarred which increases fire damage, cryofluid makes enemies slower and more vulnerable to blast damage, etc.) - higher tiered turrets are, unsurprisingly, much more ammo efficient - if you have the brainpower for it, then logic processors can allow for some overpowered designs, like Foreshadows that automatically choose to ignore weaker targets based on how much surge alloy is in storage. There are blueprints from other people that have this figured out already for you, too
From my experience, oil (tarred) don't really increase fire damage. Tarred is quite complicated. If you burn a tarred units it barely do any effect. If you apply tarred on a burning units, it will extent burning duration, turn melting to burning, do small damage, but tarred effect won't stay. It will deal damage and extend fire duration every time you try to apply tarred. This actually oil tsunami to kill a burning T5 pretty dang quick since tsunami hit 40 times/sec. So it's kinda the reverse compare to realife. In realife you put the tar on your enemy first, then burn them. In Mindustry you put enemy on fire first then tar. I don't really recommend this combo since it can also set your base on fire.

That said, it's good to see you still creating. From quality Kenshi mods, to quality RUclips videos. You continue to amaze. Hope to see more!
I am pro mindustry player so here is some tips: If you somehow make a contraption that works; always make it a schematic for you to build it again without trying to remember it, You need to, also make a narrow gap on your wall where enemies get tricked to go into so they will not find a different way to go in your base and for you to concentrate you turrets in that are(Note this only is applicable on places that have a large enough area to fit a gap). You need to replace you copper and lead mines with monos(the mining drone) cause it gives you more space to build more better factories and more unit factories.
I take notes on everything that works in order to remember it along with schematics because schematics alone often get too complicated without an explanation
Final tip: NEVER, EVER, EVER use laser drills the moment you can get airblasts to mine thorium. (The most infuriating thing I saw in the video is "laser drills mining sand"...) By the way, if you see the weird changing-speed conveyors, it's an overdrive projector/dome (basically more overkill on turrets and machines, overdrive dome boosts speed by 2.5x and even ramps power production)
after watching this mans video i can safely say it made my brain incredibly smooth very recommend and also underrated youtuber and needs more attention
found this game two or three years back and have LOVED it. I still kinda suck, but to say I didn't have a lot of fun playing would be lying. Great game, very great game
You should make sure your core is full(including coal) until you discover launch pads And you should use junctions until you discover plated conveyors which don't accept from sides Sadly you are stuck with routers until you find green belts And schematics are like cheat codes but you still pay for the resources but minus the time you spend while building it
For the clogging you can just pick up the items from the conveyors unless you use complex schematics that you don't know how it works. It's almost impossible to separate contaminated fluids.

Ive been playing minedustry since 2019 and i can say the game is really accessable you can play it on mobile and oh boy the mental damage you'd get on mobile would double.
Fun fact: you can create items out of your ass using launchpads - choose a sector where there is noting you need, send in bunch off stuff you want to dupe, load them into vaults, then release all of them at once into as many launchpads as that sector can power. After a first few launches, exit the sector, check the info from planet view. If it's displaying solid amount of resources being exported, good. DON'T GO BACK IN! The game will think that in this unloaded sector there must be a decent factory for all of the exports, even though it was just some resources sent all at once. This method can provide 1 sector of your choosing with quite a lot of resources.

Mindustry got me through a lot of night shifts working security. Side note it's available on android and I've played it on my phone since probably 2019 or 2020.
Not to mention how easy modding the game is as well as how easy it is to access and download mods. Also very easy for mod developers since the game is entirely open sourced, and we don't even have to deal with the Steam Workshop.
Part of the fun when getting great new tech is upgrading all the old maps you have conquered. Also learning tricks and schematics and making old maps more efficient. Hours later.... Then going on and conquering another chain of enemies.
I played mindustry before the planet view was even a thing. It was very fun but kinda got bored when I realized I can just wall off the spawn zone, put defenses there and the entire map is basically free to do whatever I want. As for air units just build the anti air here and there. EDIT: the game (covered in the video) after these massive updates is just so much more fun to play endlessly.
5:55 I don't even need to know what map your talking about, because at the time of writing, in base maps, the Glacier map has an absolute DROUGHT of lead, and by drought I meant finding two veins on your side is a BLESSING, with both veins likely totalling 10-30 ore tiles. 14:29 one word counters the entire master plan of economy: Erekir unless somehow Erekir ALSO has launch pads, if so god save the enemy

looks cool, I remember putting 200 hours in factorio the first month I had it, these games are digital crack
8:35 bro has never heard of unloaders
Lol bro trying tarfield first time 😂😂
He didn't see the mega launch pad yet
never played factorio, but mindustry is fr like one of my favorite games ever.
Mindustry got me through a lot of night shifts working security. Side note it's available on android and I've played it on my phone since probably 2019 or 2020.
Came across this video too late. Already half a dozen missions into the orange planet. I'm gonna cry soon if everything remains true in this video XD.
did you cry
Great work man, I really like your commentary. Keep up the good work.
Nice seeing someone play mindustry in South Africa I thought I was the only one.
love these videos, can’t wait to see what else is in store
Been playing since v4 absolutely love it to death and cannot believe what it is now
Really cool video on a game I love to bits
Gonna use this to hopefully make my friends pick this game up
this game will plague my family for generations to come (im never gonna meet a girl in my life)
Everyone's gangsta until the big spooder shows up.
Not to mention how easy modding the game is as well as how easy it is to access and download mods. Also very easy for mod developers since the game is entirely open sourced, and we don't even have to deal with the Steam Workshop.
the best part is that it is fully playable and comfortable in mobile
0:26 Says the guy with character from kenshi
I saw kenshi skeleton and immediately subscribed
Part of the fun when getting great new tech is upgrading all the old maps you have conquered. Also learning tricks and schematics and making old maps more efficient.
Hours later....
Then going on and conquering another chain of enemies.
I played mindustry before factorio.
Oh my god you don't understand how much I've suffered at the hands of this game
I played mindustry before the planet view was even a thing.
It was very fun but kinda got bored when I realized I can just wall off the spawn zone, put defenses there and the entire map is basically free to do whatever I want.
As for air units just build the anti air here and there.
EDIT: the game (covered in the video) after these massive updates is just so much more fun to play endlessly.
I Sincerelly hope you can get back to making videos. I am enjoying the content.
Thank you for the kind words.
There is something in the works. Hope you like it.
Loved the video. I almost never comment, but for such a small creator, this video was top-notch!
Thanks for the kind word, it really means alot
5:55 I don't even need to know what map your talking about, because at the time of writing, in base maps, the Glacier map has an absolute DROUGHT of lead, and by drought I meant finding two veins on your side is a BLESSING, with both veins likely totalling 10-30 ore tiles.
14:29 one word counters the entire master plan of economy: Erekir
unless somehow Erekir ALSO has launch pads, if so god save the enemy
Thanks for the summary. Seems like a cool game! You should definitely keep making these. Let us help you get a generator!
dang ill need to replay it, I have tried to play it a few times but early game felt meh but I guess it highly improves
Bring along a friend. Makes the experience much better.
@@shadowhammer1433 if only I Had any lmao
@@d4s0n282 RIP.
Mindustry noob here, can confirm i got my ass handed to me because i only had duos and arcs to defend myself
Ive been playing this game on mobile but i cant figure out the controls for some things. The campaign mode was really fun tho even tho I didnt make it very far.
Addiction is just a sign you made a good game when you talk about the factorio style game
