Rina's voice is like a warm hug. Just beautiful. My favorite song from this lineup.

Saw Li-sa-X live most recently at Naon no Yaon, annual female rockers' fest. She was one of the support players. Her band Koiai didn't play, but she was supporting some of the solo vocalists in the second half of the program, including legendary rocker Nanase Aikawa, and playing, as everyone did, in the encore. (At NnY a group of support players along with certain members of the bands that play in the 1st half of the program are mixed and matched as ad hoc supporting units for the solo vocalists in the 2nd half, and also in the various special medley segments.)
NnY didn't do the all-star guitarists' segment, as that was ex-Nemophila Saki's thing, and she was not present at NnY this year (not surprisingly). Actually they haven't done the "Guitar Girls Collection" for a few years, for one reason or another, but if Saki isn't involved not sure it'll be resurrected.

She is such a talent. They all are.
But when you get a chance, please take a look at Lisa-X playing 'Satch Boogie' at Yoyoka's 12th birthday bash. Sensational. As are all the songs in that show.

But we have now Koiai, with Kotono on vocals and they play songs of Lisa-X band, cool voice too...and the amazing guitars of Hazuki and Lisa...with the support of Wakazaemon of East of Eden on bass...so...A+ group

Wonderful take! The word “prodigy” gets thrown around way too much. In this case, it is fully deserved. Lisa-X has been posting music on youtube since she was seven, did credible covers of Dream Theater and Polyphia at 10, and has had her own band since she was 13. The main regulars in Lisa-X band were Rina on vocals and Hazuki, formerly of Disqualia and now, as you know, Nemophila's lead guitarist.
Here are some links worth checking out. The first one is her 2017 appearance at the annual female rock festival organized by Show-Ya-she is up there with some of the best guitarists in the world and they clearly love sharing the stage with her. The third one is her collaboration with the even younger drum phenom, Yoyoka Soma, who is herself a force of nature.
    At NaonのYaon (age 12): ruclips.net/video/hbeW7Yuf-a0/видео.html
    With Hazuki: ruclips.net/video/mN_oLqTka6M/видео.html
    With Yoyoka: ruclips.net/video/B97HKxg4Cwk/видео.html
With Billy Sheehan (!) on bass: ruclips.net/video/PzsqmnEa89c/видео.html
Overall, rock is not only in good hands, but arguably has been taken over by Japanese women. The future looks great!

I will always have my OG western male rock god favorites, but from my mid 50's moving forward, I could dedicate all my listening time to Asian realm female rockers and come out on top!

Nice reaction RC! A song like this in lesser hands might be quite run of the mill, but Li-sa X managed to elevate it to become a great song worthy of many listens ❤. And it was fun to see Hazuki’s librarian look 😂.

Li-sa-X and Hazuki playing together is like watching real magic. I always think the word prodigy is thrown around too much, but Li-sa-X is fully deserving of the title and Hazuki might be the single most underrated guitarist on earth right now, even in Nemophila it felt like people were always talking about Saki. The way these 2 can play so clean and precise, but with emotion and weight is an absolute joy.
I know Koiai just released a live video from their first Blu-ray, I really hope you'll check it out, along with the rest of the Li-sa-X band videos.

It's worth checking out Li-Sa-X on stage with a few other guitarists you might recognise at Naon No Yaon in 2017 when she was just 12 years old - it's a revelation and the way they look after her is SO cute !

I think he only played on One More Chance is Enough. It’s no Shyboy, but it’s the toughest of LisaX Band songs. Tho Koiai just did a cover of a cover of Automatic, that bass player can do stuff that’d make Billy blush

When I discovered Nemophila due to Baby Metal a couple of years ago, I did some research in the earlier lives of the band members of Nemophila and due to Hazuki found Lisa-X. When they produced the clip, Lisa was still very young (15 ?). There are at least two more songs of this trio, similar nice and great, which unfortunately remained under the radar. Thank you for your reaction.

Thanks for doing my request on Li-sa-X, I did feel like it was important to have you see Li-sa-x first because Li-sa-x Band stuff is amazing and it leads to Koiai, under Koiai they have released just 1 video. But they signed a fantastic drummer to the Band and they have 2 EPs that they released in the last year. Currently they only have 1 full music Video on their channel.
Li-sa-x band only produced 4 songs. The one you saw today and then MV one more chance is enough (15 Year old Lisa) ruclips.net/video/PzsqmnEa89c/видео.html
The mini documentary I sent you is a great way to get the quick back story on Li-sa-x.
Unfortunately Rina had to withdraw from performing and was eventually let go from the project.
They released 2 play through videos without Rina that are still very good songs and worth listening to.
"Cola Bottle again" & "Just be my Treasure"
I'll send you those links too.

From what I understand, Rina got married and moved to Korea where her husband is from. A shame for Lisa X band since she had a real soulful voice. Lisa X was still in high school when these songs came out so they only had a few of them.

I agree, this is as good as it gets. Sad that Rina's not still singing (or at least not much, not famously, not with them). Rina only did 4 songs with 2 videos with this group, tho i think she did all the lyrics, and the voice is one of my favorites of all time. They moved slow while LisaX finished high school (2023 i think).
LisaX was signed to Sony records to do prog instrumentals at age 11. Let that soak in.
Paul Gilbert famously offered to teach her (online) for free after she was winning RUclips awards at age 8 covering his songs. He's in Mr. Big (with Billy Sheehan on bass), and Risa/Lisa had already named herself after his earlier band RacerX -> RisaX -> Li-sa-X, get it? (sounds the same in japanese). She first did a mini album of covers, big name guests. I especially love her "main" album called "Will"(2018), all instrumental, amazingly mature.
This song Looking Up To You (2022) all music was written by LisaX.
The other video with Rina was their first, One More Chance is Enough (2020) ruclips.net/video/PzsqmnEa89c/видео.htmlsi=P7c70r2HuLyq56lW
One More Chance is probably the most complex/proggy, features a big name guest rhythm section, and the music was written by Narumi (of the long red hair, most recently the founding guitarist of Lonesome Blue), who was Hazuki's first co-lead partner in Disqualia; that duo supported LisaX solo (pre Rina), and Rami (ex Aldious singer), and Narumi filled in in Aldious proper as well. Hazuki being chosen to work with Narumi, LisaX, and Saki(who asked her to join Nemophila), well that's my favorite thing about Hazuki, that she's respected enough not just to write music to demo for Ibanez, but that those 3-of-the-best shredders chose her as someone who could keep up and contribute. See also Narumi's solo instrumental album "The Seed" (same producer as LisaX's "Will").
Hazuki wrote the music for both of the Bsides: Just Be My Treasure (2020) and ColaBottleAgain(2022), each has a playthru video of just Hazuki & LisaX.
LisaX did a cool retrospective that's already 5 years old but shows who she'd already worked with by age 14. ruclips.net/video/eqnJpXmt_jU/видео.htmlsi=RwtHYvso29h73Cna It's worth a listen, maybe reaction, and her "answering questions from instagram" 4years ago is good too. She doesn't even mention all of her collabs (guest guitar on japanese pop song, international true-shred/prog collaborations, Yuki from D_Drive & East of Eden, Yoyoka's 12th birthday session), yet the list was already jaw dropping.
And then of course you'll get to Koiai, enjoy 🤘🎸💃😎

      It’s your lucky day @rockcandy !
Koiai’s first Blu-ray sold out (on 2nd day), so they put some official vids up. This is my fav so far, hard, pop, light; eclectic, prog? See it’s description (all music by LisaX), but note they omitted support bassist Wakamaezon (East of Eden, Marty Friedman). Enjoy 🤘🎸💃😎 ruclips.net/video/rX6SP5bQZH8/видео.htmlsi=-gMleT3iE9U8ebWo

I also remember seeing Li-Sa-X with another guitarist prodigy from China named Yoyo ruclips.net/video/rfRlh2YWL30/видео.html
