First of all thank you for sharing your experience in such detail.
As a current Canadian resident, I take exception to all the points in this biased video where you have made attempts to self validate yourselves and already assumed that because few of your friends are seeking advice on moving to North America, that your decision was obviously the right one.
Before I list my counter points, I will highly recommend people to watch Wali Khan’s discussion with Batool where he has effectively countered all of key main pros Behroz and Batool have discussed here.
    1) Children being spoiled: During my time spent in the UK, some of the best talent I worked with hailed from the middle east. It was a testament to not only how far their education has come in a span of two decades but it is on the way to be on par with the best in the word. Despite coming from luxurious backgrounds, these kids were determined and hungry to prove themselves and adapted well to the self-service environment of the UK. They already had travelled to Europe and USA multiple times and have a much wider view of the world. Frankly I found people from less privileged background having a hard time adapting. Even during their undergraduate degree time they worked in supermarkets and coffee shops and did any part time jobs they could lay their hands on. Something that I have never done because I got my higher education in Pakistan. So this presumption that they will want cars and houses once they start studying/living abroad is completely unfounded.
    2) Cost of high quality education of N.America: It is becoming more expensive over the years. Your child by the time they are just 17-18 are expected to take a momentous decision to take a student loan, and it is the only debt in USA, on which you cannot declare bankruptcy. Please go and watch numerous videos on Dave Ramsey's channel on people in their 40's still no where near paying off their student loans. Your child can still make it to Harvard from Dubai and excel.
    3) The cultural challenge: In Canada and USA, many parents are concerned with the LGBTQ+ ideology. They are concerned how easily gender transition surgeries are accessible and parents are kept oblivious to the conversations happening between the children and the teachers, in these public schools. Many desi parents have hence opted for private schools, spending again $500-$700 a month/per child.
    4) Children's need for a tribe: I learned this concept from Stephen Covey, that children have an innate nature of wanting to belong to a tribe which in this case is their extended family. Taking your children away to North America comes at a cost of not meeting their grandparents regularly or their aunts and uncles and cousins. Once you move to North America, travelling to Pakistan regularly is a thing of the past.
    5) Age of moving: Again there is no evidence to suggest that there is the right age to move. Many would consider 33 to be a late age to move. Behroz and Batool, there are hundreds of people who move to Middle east every year from North America, and a lot moved in 2024 due to booming Saudi economy and sluggish Canadian market. And many did so for fear of their children not the luxury. So this constant quotation of “Yeh to wohi log hein jo hamein rokhte thay” neither is warranted nor does it validate your decision to move by any measure.
    6) Immigration decision for children only: I found it missing that you guys made the decision for yourselves but only for your children. Children will move on after their 20’s and parents will be left behind. Why did you guys move? That is missing.
    7) Security: The biggest pro of middle east has not been discussed, for obvious reasons. Parents supreme concern is security. Please take out the stats on rising crimes rates in all major USA cities and states and then compare to Dubai. The security that Dubai provides you is unparalleled globally.

It’s our story and our experience and we’re basing it on our analysis of the so many people we regularly meet and talk to in Canada and Middle East. We’re not saying one is better than another, we’re telling you why we and many others we know decided to move and the motivation behind that.
As to your point 6: we moved because we as a couple wanted to move and we never pin it on our kids that it was because of them we’re making this “sacrifice”

Hi Bahroz, Batool, can you please add English subtitles i really want my husband to hear this. I have been feeling like this ever since i moved to Dubai some 23 yrs ago, met my husband here, had my daughter - all the while my heart is just full of unrest, mind you i grew up in Bahrain but never felt this way before coming to Dubai. Now my husband loves Dubai but i really need him to understand your vlog because you’ve just said everything right and i’m so done and so need a change too. I feel it will really help him understand my point of view. Thanks💕

In my opinion, everyone has their own preferences, and I did not pay much attention to your reasons for relocating to CANADA and subsequently the United States.
I was born and raised in Canada and have happily resided in the United Arab Emirates for the past ten years. Your desire for a passport and subsequent immigration are commendable, and I extend my best wishes for your future endeavors. However, I believe that living in North America may eventually lead you to reconsider your decision and potentially return to the UAE.

Let me start by saying you guys are doing great job by educating people on various topics. For this video, i would like to say every place has its pros and cons. This is your story and from your circumstances you took the best decision for your family. However, you are potraying as if whole middleeast is just a showoff place and it is all artificial and there is nothing over there thats original. The truth is middleast right now is the most happening place to be.Your lifestyle is defined how you live, so blaming the place for that isnt right. One can live simple life wherever he wants.I have seen many families that live a very simple life in middleast and even in Pakistan despite earning millions and vice versa.
I moved to Canada from Middleeast and now i m back in middleast becoz of the sole reason that living in Canada was becoming extrmely challenging specially becoz of inflation. Every week i get dozen of CVs from NA where people want to move to middleast as they find it difficult to raise kids over there and pay their bills..Also the reason that u mentioned on taxes, that medical is free and all ,dont forget you have to wait more than 6 hours in emergency for a doctor to just see you and if you need surgery you may have to wait over a year to have it.
Kids Education also is a long topic to dicuss, similarly it also has its pros and cons both in middle east and NA.
Hope you take the above message positively.Keep up the good work!

    • @NorthAmerican-Desi
      @NorthAmerican-Desi  16 часов назад +1

      Great points…
One I don’t blame Middle East for its flashiness.. I blame my self for not being some one who can stay away from it when living there… as I said I have tendency to get impacted by my surroundings… there are people who can live in their bubble and if yes they do well and I envy them..
Yes canada is not best economically currently and that is one reason why we moved to usa… keep us close to home (canada) while benefitting from bigger better economy…
And yes its purely ones decision (video coming out soon more on this)..
      Thanks for your wonderful comment

This couple seems to have GORA complex .This video seems to feature content tailored to provoke controversy and draw viewers, potentially for monetization purposes on a new RUclips channel. The creators clearly exploiting to trend and attract attention. In today's social landscape, standing out or being controversial can sometimes be seen as fashionable. However, it's important for viewers to seek out more balanced and neutral content to form well-rounded opinions. I recommend spending your time on more trustworthy sources rather than this video, which appears designed primarily to generate revenue.
