    Just completed this install... was very impressed with the quality of the materials .. the packaging and hardware packaging was very helpful and the instructions were very good... I would say that the only change was the video calls for the pinion to be installed in the lower hole of the upper control arm (front) however it does not fit that way Amd cannot be installed that way .. the instructions clearly state it is to be installed I. The lower control arm and it fits perfectly... just FYI

    These are some really great videos you have been making for mustang restoration, especially for 1968. I'm planning to do a restoration in 2019 on a 68 Mustang Fastback, and I need some good tips, and good parts to make it as a daily drive.

    Would you recommend doing a Shelby drop while installing this kit? Or will that mess up the geometry?

  • @andym82376

    This is all great but, where's the wennie? How does it drive? How does it feel? You did the same with the EcoBoost turbo upgrade. We never got to see or hear how it performed.

    Why would you put all the old rusty parts incorporated in with the new parts? I woulda reconditioned and painted the original parts before using them. The underneath side of the car had a lot of surface rust. You should bead blast the frame and repaint, then mounted the new suspension kit.

      Cause they are doing installation videos, not restoration. I'm sure there is more to come on this car like brake upgrades and replacing a lot of stuff. Keep in mind a lot of times stuff gets removed for other INSTALLATION videos. While everything you said would make sense for the rest of us, for places that have to buy cars to make installation videos of parts they sell it doesn't make a lot of sense to do stuff like that if the point is to show how to install the stuff they sell now does it?

    • @cjponyparts
      @cjponyparts  6 лет назад +2

      Yes Dred Eagle pretty much nailed it. We are showing product installation, not restoration. If we fixed everything on the car we would never finish the videos lol.

  • @vigilante351
    @vigilante351 6 лет назад +4

    Yep cool setup for the old era. The lower rear shock mount really hangs low. I like the radius rod mod though! We have something like that here in Aus by RRS. Think it's been mentioned before, that background music is shiiit. Needs to be turned right down low between commentary I think.

      RRS makes a nice kit.

    • @omcara1
      @omcara1 4 года назад +1

      Yup the music sucks. It's a little better than the 1970's porno tunes they had in the earlier videos. Now it seems they use the tunes from those lame Russian DYI project videos.

    The mounting tabs look a LOT like the same tabs and locations on a stock 8.8". Will the 8.8" bolt up to this cradle/coil-over system?

    • @cjponyparts
      @cjponyparts  5 лет назад +1

      We used an 8.8 on our 65 build with a very similar setup and it worked fine, you just need to remove all the factory brackets off the 8.8.

    Any chance the rear will fit a 67 Cougar? I know that the wheel base is about 3 inches longer so I imagine the mounting points are different.

    • @I_like_turtles_67

      Most of the cougar kits will come with a longer control arm. The install will basically be the same.

    • @cjponyparts
      @cjponyparts  4 года назад +2

      vonvon103 one of the challenges we face on all the videos aw shoot on the classics is how much to fix while we are shooting a video. If we did all that it would take away time from actual shooting. If we were restoring the car we would absolutely take all the steps but we are just trying to show a procedure
