New engine, new transmission, new suspension.... drum brakes. The things gonna go like hell, never be stoppin’ tho
Just completed this install... was very impressed with the quality of the materials .. the packaging and hardware packaging was very helpful and the instructions were very good... I would say that the only change was the video calls for the pinion to be installed in the lower hole of the upper control arm (front) however it does not fit that way Amd cannot be installed that way .. the instructions clearly state it is to be installed I. The lower control arm and it fits perfectly... just FYI
How it rides?
These are some really great videos you have been making for mustang restoration, especially for 1968. I'm planning to do a restoration in 2019 on a 68 Mustang Fastback, and I need some good tips, and good parts to make it as a daily drive.
Would've liked to have seen how you figured out to cut those brackets before you welded them on...
CJ has the best install videos on RUclips! But - dear Christ that new music....nails on a chalkboard!
Ok boomer
Looks real good
Would you recommend doing a Shelby drop while installing this kit? Or will that mess up the geometry?
This is all great but, where's the wennie? How does it drive? How does it feel? You did the same with the EcoBoost turbo upgrade. We never got to see or hear how it performed.
Why would you put all the old rusty parts incorporated in with the new parts? I woulda reconditioned and painted the original parts before using them. The underneath side of the car had a lot of surface rust. You should bead blast the frame and repaint, then mounted the new suspension kit.
Cause they are doing installation videos, not restoration. I'm sure there is more to come on this car like brake upgrades and replacing a lot of stuff. Keep in mind a lot of times stuff gets removed for other INSTALLATION videos. While everything you said would make sense for the rest of us, for places that have to buy cars to make installation videos of parts they sell it doesn't make a lot of sense to do stuff like that if the point is to show how to install the stuff they sell now does it?
Yes Dred Eagle pretty much nailed it. We are showing product installation, not restoration. If we fixed everything on the car we would never finish the videos lol.
Lotta work just to leave the front coil over on top of the upper A-arm vs it being mounted to the lower A-arm
Need to upgrade the brakes!
Can a rear sway bar be added to this one?
Yep cool setup for the old era. The lower rear shock mount really hangs low. I like the radius rod mod though! We have something like that here in Aus by RRS. Think it's been mentioned before, that background music is shiiit. Needs to be turned right down low between commentary I think.
RRS makes a nice kit.
Yup the music sucks. It's a little better than the 1970's porno tunes they had in the earlier videos. Now it seems they use the tunes from those lame Russian DYI project videos.
The mounting tabs look a LOT like the same tabs and locations on a stock 8.8". Will the 8.8" bolt up to this cradle/coil-over system?
We used an 8.8 on our 65 build with a very similar setup and it worked fine, you just need to remove all the factory brackets off the 8.8.
whats the link to this kit need it for the family 67
Any chance the rear will fit a 67 Cougar? I know that the wheel base is about 3 inches longer so I imagine the mounting points are different.
Most of the cougar kits will come with a longer control arm. The install will basically be the same.
@@I_like_turtles_67 everything is the same for the front end of a cougar.
@@FE428Power I was talking about the rear of the car.
Is the installation the same as for the level 2 kit for 64-66?
It won't be the exact same install but it will be similar.
how do the Magnaflow tailpipes fit with that Ridetech rear suspension?
We did have to have an exhaust shop modify them for clearance.
I find it amazing that you would not put disc brakes on the front instead of putting the old drum brakes back on wow!!!
This video was about the suspension, disc brakes were added later.
You removed the shock tower to firewall brace. Does this not comprise the integrity of the Mustang uni-body chassis?
We removed the stock style one and upgraded to an adjustable TCP version after the Ridetech install.
@@cjponyparts Do u have pics or instructions on how u did it?
@@cjponyparts I'd like to see how that was done as well. I'm trying to use the stock export brace and cannot get the holes to line up... not even close!
Great tutorial! What happened to the metal music?? This noise sucks! Lol
Lets bolt in those welds
genuinely love everything about this video, except the music. video isn’t as fun muted !
where can i get a hood like that?
Chevy parts catalog. Look under the Cowl Induction Hoods section.
i have this installed on a 69 mach 1 and no it doesn't handle like a 2017 mustang! be aware that you cant install rear sway bar with this set up.
Beautiful. But I thought it was funny that he said “no cutting” then proceeds to drill hella holes and cuts off that bumper thing in the back and the metal bracket…still really not that much work for what it is and does
I love it but why install all these beautiful clean parts on a rusty bottom ? I would have steam cleaned everything and under coated the whole bottom.
vonvon103 one of the challenges we face on all the videos aw shoot on the classics is how much to fix while we are shooting a video. If we did all that it would take away time from actual shooting. If we were restoring the car we would absolutely take all the steps but we are just trying to show a procedure
I see, you guys have the best RUclips channel out there I appreciate you guys. Hey you guys did a t5 swap for the 67, did you guys ever do a video changing the pedals or adding the clutch pedal ? This is where I would have an issue on my 68 fastback .
You talk too fast, hard to understand you. Watch a john Hotchkiss video for a example of a well narrated video.
